“We used a roofer that we found via Rated People and he did an absolutely awful job. The address he gave Rated People is a false one and we've sent them photos of the work he did and the damage he caused. We also showed messages and emails between him and us to show his false promised plus call logs to show we had tried to contact him. We also pointed out that a lot of the positive reviews for him appear to be fake (we foolishly didn't look at them deeply enough beforehand). Rated People aren't interested at all. So much for thoroughly checking the traders on their site! AVOID AVOID AVOID.”

“Rated People are not impartial, they are biased towards tradesperson, as they get fees from Tradespersons, and remove negative reviews of tradespersons, as it is in Rated Peoples financial interest to have positive reviews of tradespersons, as they get more money. You are not getting honest reviews on Rated People. Make Sure you also put tradespersons names in online search to find honest reviews elsewhere! I have recently reported Rated People to ASA and Trading Standards, as I have proof they are not impartial as they claim to be.”

“Jim Macbeth electrician made a job that could have had us lifting floors through his sheer patience and perseverance he managed to rewire our fuse box by drilling a small hole and running the new cable underneath (not as easy as it sounds) amazing job with absolutely no mess. Definitely recommend Jim”

“They are a disgusting thieving company with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, they haven’t even got a proper customer service number, they will steal money from your account without permission. My advice to anyone is have absolutely nothing to do with this company”

“Marquis Allan who promised to create a marvellous kitchen took the old kitchen out dumped it in my bedroom and having taken some money up front disappeared. His Company ATD Home Improvements Bournemouth are cowboys builders, please do not invite them near your property. Even when he promised to send the deposit to my account and I tried through the Small Claims Court to get my money back he ignored the Judgement. So please do not contact them for any building work. Date of experience: 31 October 2022”

“Obtain money by deception i pay £72 a month and shoud get £80 in lead credit. No jiust take the money. no phone number that works, no email, just a contact form that no body reads. when you try and call on 4 different numbers you get the same message. there is no option to write a complaint about the service,as they dont have a complaints department ?.”

“I was on pay-as-you-go terms, and they offered me a try on a plan. Then I said I wanted to go pay-as-you-go again they cancelled my reviews and kicked me off their site after seven years with five stars, no complaints nasty attitude toward us trades peoples”

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE; They sell you fake leads which never materialise and then refuse to refund you, and then when you try to quit, they carry on taking payments out of your account!!! I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months and they just continue to take money out of my account, even though I have it in writing that I have paid £53 more than the cancellation fee I agree with them in July!!!! ABSOLUTE SCAM ARTISTS; AVOID AVOID AVOID. There’s tonnes of graft out there, you don’t need these cowboys robbing you.”

“They retain your money and have a limit on refunds against dead leads and believe me. There are plenty of them. Will not be renewing. You can only contact them via email. They are not interested in solving your problems with you. Sooner or later they will fall apart because no one will want to subscribe to them. They literally thieve your money.”

“I contacted Rated People with the intention / view of joining them, however, and a big HOWEVER, after I researched them a little and read the recent reviews on various review sites, it scared the life out of me!! Virtually all 1 out of 5!!! That said, I finally did receive a call after 5 days from when I made my online enquiry, but as soon as I said id been checking their reviews, the young highly educated phone operative hung up and now when I tried calling Rated People back theres just a voicemail message saying theyre too busy and theyll call me back in 2 to 3 days!!! Im absolutely amazed! I most definately will vouch for and take the advice of all the other reviews and stay well clear, as a low grade a service as ive come across, stay well, no, very well clear, youve been warned, just as I was.”

“They took the roofers side and ignored my complaint of shoddy work. They said he bad provided photos of the completed job. This was impossible as i had the genuine pictures and the builder provided false ones. They didn't give me the opportunity to send the photos just dismissed my complaint. In the end I had to pay for another company to rectify the work.”

“Rated People are criminals to trades people. They hold you into a subscription and do not respond when you want to cancel. They have been withdrawing money from my account unlawfully for 6 months and I am not using the company. They are holding onto unused credit and they are a disgrace. I wish I never signed up to them, everybody that are thinking of joining DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.”

“As a business owner never ever use this company to advertise your business your card details are kept and they keep taking money whehter you like it or not. they also damage credit as do random checks 20-30 times for some reason maybe it is to harm peoples credit... total shambles of a company.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

“Please be really careful with Rated people I'm speaking from my own experience which was terrible. I was on Rated people for 4-5 months with electrical trade and I've have won 0 jobs and in the same time with all my clients outside rated people I'm having none issues. For example: 1. Most of the adverts/leads are fake Uploading 2-3 times with same photos slightly different budget and description and normally lead should be uploaded just once and bought only 3 times from 3 different trades people. 2. On most advert you can't get in touch with the person they don't answer calls, text messages or emails Or if they do and you agree to meet with them to create a quote 90% of the time they will cancel it on the last moment or stop answering your calls prior meeting. So you are basically ending up with wasted own time and money for nothing in return. Yes you have the option to ask for refund on unsuccessful jobs but this is limited and also any credit isn't available for use on the next month. ***** I did contact rated people to get my account cancelled as I'm not happy at all with them services and they are refusing to cancel it stating that I've got 12 month contract with them which cannot be cancelled until is expired. But I never signed a contract with them, never been told, or informed when applying that they work like that, all I've been told is that every month when I top up my account with credit I can use that credit to buy leads and if I don't have credit I simply cannot buy any leads same as pay as you go sim card. So I've decided to mark my card as stolen in order to stop paying anymore to them (I couldn't just cancel the direct debit because they keep the information from your card in order to collect money from you every month) And now they insist that I own them 500£ for not paying them. 4-5 months in row but when you don't pay you cannot use any of them services. And basically they expect me to pay for nothing provided in return and threatening to transfer me to third party DEBT COLLECTORS. So please be careful if you decide to choose rated people as they can create massive headache to you, thank you for reading my comment hopefully it's been some help.”

“Got ripped off by a bankrupt conman builder supposedly 'rated' on here to the tune of 24k. Reported to the police, avoid this site. Avoid Sean McCann from Urban Construction Limited”
