“I got Tudors manor landscaping company in solihull his name is ade breeze from ratedpeople website he done the job twice and never finished it all wrong I have to pay a builder to take the slabs up and clean it and hire a skip cost me a lot of money this company is a cowboy and don't employ him and ratedpeople website I have photos to proof it”

“Did a review it got taking down because rated people don't like bad reviews, let's see if this gets taken down. LEE JONES FROM CROSBY BUILDING SERVICES HE LIVES IN CROSBY LIVERPOOL, HE CAME TO MY MOTHERS HOUSE SHE WANTED ANEW KITCHEN FITTED, HE SAID HE NEEDED £1.230 UP FRONT, SHES 80 SHE GAVE IT TO HIM, NEVER SEEN HIM AGAIN, THE MONSTER WON'T ANSWER MY CALLS, I'VE BEEN THE POLICE THEY ARE DEALING WITH IT, PLEASE DON'T GO NEAR HIM, HE'S GOT GREAT REVIEWS ON RATED PEOPLE, DON'T HE FULLED HE PICKS ON SINGLE WOMEN LIVING ON THERE OWN, LEE JONES IS A THEIF”

“Put a request on rated people for a tree surgeon. Same day we were rung by an Ashley Collins who came round and said he would reduce the height of our oak tree by 40ft and take away the resulting cuttings/wood etc. for £500. We agreed this. He came later that day with only a ladder and a saw, he had to borrow a saw and ropes from us to complete the job. Job done he then refused to take away the cuttings/wood unless we paid him another £200 or £150 if we would load his van ourselves. We are nearing 70 and declined this offer. He then got quite stroppy as he wanted the money paid directly into the bank but our computer was playing up so we had to give him a cheque which was made out to a Paul Taylor his boss. We are still awaiting the receipt nearly 2 months later. We then had to hire a skip for £110 which took us 3 days to fill and chop up the remaining wood etc. Got on to rated people who told us the person who took on the job was actually called Brian Mc Donag. Apparently this person is conveniently no longer on their books so they cannot help. Beware people, there's a lot of cowboys out there and going to a site such as rated people doesn't guarantee you won't become a victim sadly.”

“I recently had a bad experience with a trader and left negative comments and feedback. It seems that Rated People didn't like this and said that it was against their terms etc... To me it looks like negative comments and ratings affects their ability to get new traders to buy jobs from their site so they don't allow this. If a customer has had a good or bad experience they should be free to review accordingly and give an honest opinion. It seems like Rated People only want good reviews so more people use their services and in some cases cowboy and dodgy tradespeople. I will not be using their services again.”

“Useless and only favours Trades people I had a dispute with a trade person and left a negative review but the VQ Team remove my review and said I cannot post any bad reviews. The review was well under their policy guidance but still they rejected it. Also, you never receive 3 quotes.. I created three jobs and only received 1 quote for each.. Unhappy user.”

“Atrocious customer service. Had new gutters fitted by someone who, I found out later,had stolen a dairy farmer's identity. Terrible job and I need to replace the gutters. Rated People will not speak to me in the phone,only by email and the person who I was dealing with,who wouldn't give their name, told me that the matter is closed. Really difficult to escalate my complaint but I will keep trying.”

“Tradesmen or contractors aren't verified and are allowed to scam people even with their invalid email addresses shown on their accounts. Do not use this shameful app. Had to involve police and probably I would have to involve the court too in case I find the scammer. I would probably never see the money I paid the false tradesman on their app. Use other legit apps to search for tradesmen”

“They charge silly prices per job and have no interest in refunding that money back when they job poster shows no interest in actually wanting the work done. Robot humans answer the phones at rayed people callcentre and read from a script, constantly repeating the same things about 20 percent limits and never actually helping or acknowledging that ive been sold a bad lead/fake lead. Terrible company, greedy and dishonest.”

“An absolute scam, do not ever use. The customer services do nothing but refuse to help and carry on charging you for a service that provides literally nothing. I have had to fold up my company due to these uncertain times and Rated People refuse to cancel my subscription (which I have never received a job from in 9months and been paying £72 each month). The government need to look at scam companies like this”

“Very poor. Their contractor took down payment, did no work and failed to return down payment. Now gone to court to recover. Rated people did nothing to resolve, even when advised that their contractor was advertised falsely on their site, and clearly had not been checked and verified recently as he had a compulsory winding up order against him.. Despite Rated People being aware of this they continue to promote him.”

“Don't use Rated people, suspect leads are fake? Well you're absolutely right, leads are purchased from agencies and the same leads can be found on other similar sites, no one will ever answer and guess what, you won't be refunded either because you'll be told there's a 20% limit. The goal is to make as much money as possible, no one cares about the tradespeople they just care that you pay. Leads are never vetted so honestly its hard to tell whats genuine and what isn't. Also during the corona virus crisis they have been informed to not suspend payments under any circumstances because the business wil collapse...again showing that no one cares about the trades person. I know this as fact as my friend works for them. Poor company poor service...don't waste your pennies on this site”

“Found a tradesman off this site. Came round for a quote. Did some tinkering and said everything need to be replaced at £500. Thought it was a bit shady after googling it online. Got a second opinion and had it fixed for £80. Left a negative review based on the above and site admins removed it. What a joke. Like most people I don't mind paying for honest work but don't want to be ripped off either. This site is full of scam artists and they seem to encourage them too.”

“If you are looking for a plumber and see the name K.M Plumbing and Heating....keep looking. This is the second time I had called them in. The first job was to refit a downstairs toilet, which was done to such a high standard I thought I would be safe to use them again. They recently fitted a bathroom for us, the finish is poor to say the least. We had them on the doorstep at 7am every morning and had to ask them to make it a bit later. They were very pleasant and clean workers but nothing makes up for the disappointing end product. Once the job was finished, Within a day we had to call them back as the taps were the wrong way round and there was a leak under the kitchen sink where they had been switching the water on and off. They brought a moronic child (apprentice) who managed to scorch the towels in the airing cupboard and leave plaster and solder on everything. Pipes have been fitted in the loft near the hatch and keep getting caught on the loft ladder. The shower had an invented fixingto keep it secure to the wall which they thought wouldn't hold and consequently came away from the wall. They came back and did a temporary fix, we have not seen them since. At the weekend I was hoovering the stairs and noticed plaster on the floor right under the bathroom. No surprises there, we have a leak under the bath which must have been there some time as its bringing the ceiling down. This substandard comedy of errors cost the princely sum of £4000. Be advised dont use them!! I said I wouldn't do this but after saving for 2 years and borrowing for the rest to have the job done I am beyond disappointed. I am reticent to call them back again to put things right as they will just mess something else up and cost me more money. Unable to give a no star rating.”

“Awful for tradesman! Do not bother wasting your money and time with quoting. 99% of the homeowners on there are time wasters and want everything done for nothing. Rated people are no help with refunding on your credit I would definitely find another site for leads. It seems there is many CHEAP tradesman that are jack of all’s tradesman master of none on it. Avoid 100%.”

“I was a member for about a year and a half. I wasn't sent any information that the contract would renew for another year automatically. I wanted to cancel with a 30 day notice, just to be told that I owe the remaining fees for half a year. Avoid these scammers if you're a trader.”

“I’m a gas safe registered engineer. I signed up with Rated People thinking I’d get some quality leads. I had to buy a months leads from a dodgy sales guy and they sign you up for a years contract. Just one week in I’ve realised it’s not worth it for quality tradespeople. Most leads are people just looking for a Qoute and every job you express an interest in you have to pay. Also many customers don’t even bother answering your Qoute, text or phone calls. I’ve used all the credit after a week and only got 2 jobs. Waste of money, I’m still in cooling off period so will be cancelling tomorrow.”

“I have now had 2 bad experiences with rated people. The first was a "plumber" who left me with a bared live cable wrapped in electrical tape. He then returned half the money if I promised not to leave a bad review. The second was a roofer who assumed because he had paid to give me a quote the job was his! He has now become abusive towards me by text messages. Rated people ! My arse .”
