“Overall: The staff were excellent and the property was beautiful. We had a few issues with no water on the first night. The manager fixed the water issue very promptly. The manager was always available for queries and came over when we needed anything done. Enjoyed Most: Beautiful outdoor area and pool. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in my life. Enjoyed Least: A couple of the outlets didn't work. Surrounding Area: Gorgeous area surrounding the villa and great nearby village. Nearby Events or Locales: Nearest town was not within walking distance - 10 minute drive. Tips or Restaurants: Make sure you fully understand how everything in the property works - eg lights and ovens etc as it is a bit complicated. The manager is very happy to explain and be contacted if you need to ask how to work anything. Special Experiences: We arranged for a cook to come in and do a cooking class - was fantastic! Directions: We used Googlemaps but your directions were fine. Check In Out: No - all worked well.”

“Overall: Very quiet place with a tremendous view of the sea. Perfect for relaxing with the family. Enjoyed Most: The large spaces for relaxtion with terraces and pool, space for privacy. Enjoyed Least: Insects - mosquitoes. Also, there were some technical problems with the Internet, light and water. Surrounding Area: Beautiful Ravello is 5 km from the villa. We very much liked the beach in Atrani. Nearby Events or Locales: To reach the nearest small towns a car is necessary. Tips or Restaurants: We have been surprised by the Welcome Basket at the villa when we arrived. It was a pleasant surprise. Restaurants can be found in Amalfi and Ravello, small cafes and restaurants in Atrani. Directions: I recommend renting a car with GPS. The taxis are expensive, therefore, a small car is better. Check In Out: A lot of helpful information is given.”

“Overall: We had a good vacation with our friends. Enjoyed Most: Good size for a large group. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room for meals together, and space to spend quiet time if needed. Enjoyed Least: Difficult to find. The location was fine, but after a heavy rain the drive was rough and needed repair. We did not receive clear instructions for operating the appliances. Surrounding Area: Easy to get to other cities and sights from this location. Nearby Events or Locales: St. Remy was within walking distance along a small canal path. Otherwise, it was a fairly long walk if going by the local roads. Tips or Restaurants: There are several good restaurants in the area, though I would suggest making reservations if going for dinner. We really enjoyed dinner at L'Industrie. Directions: One of our group was able to find it using GPS. We tried to follow the directions on the information sheet and got hopelessly lost. We got more directions at the Tourist Information office that were clearer than the written ones we had. Check In Out: When some of our party arrived (in the middle of a downpour) they called the number for the manager, who only spoke French. She arrived with keys and tried to convey information, but was unable to communicate use of appliances. Check-out time was listed as 10:00 AM, but no one arrived until quite a bit later. We had made train reservations based on the time we'd been quoted, so were afraid we'd have to leave without any sort of check-out procedure. A definitive time would have helped.”

“Overall: We had a very enjoyable week spent at this villa and will return again. Enjoyed Most: This property is very picturesque and just as it was described on RentVillas.com. Enjoyed Least: The parking area and walkway to the villa was not lighted well at night. Surrounding Area: Beautiful views. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest town was not within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: The kitchen is not stocked with basics. Bring your own salt, pepper, sugar, oil and spices. Directions: It's difficult to read the signs at night. Find the villa during the daylight hours! Check In Out: Check in went smoothly.”

“Overall: Villa Levanto is located in a beautiful, peaceful, private location overlooking the Mediterranean coast as well as the coastal area of Levanto. The villa is quite rustic and not luxurious, but it's charming. Enjoyed Most: The beautiful patio which has a fantastic view of Levanto and parts of the Mediterranean Coast. Enjoyed Least: The bathrooms were rustic but functional. The kitchen is rather basic. Surrounding Area: The town of Levanto is charming and not overrun with tourists. There is an excellent train services from Levanto to all of the other towns along the Mediterranean Coast. Taking the train is much easier than trying to drive and park. Nearby Events or Locales: Levanto is a 15-minute walk down the hill from the Villa Levanto into town but a 20 minute walk up the hill from the town to the villa. You have the option of walking on the road or you can save a little time by choosing to use the many rather uneven, steep steps. Tips or Restaurants: Just be prepared for a rustic property located up a steep hill in a beautiful location that provides tranquility and wonderful views. Directions: Just warn drivers that the access road is steep and narrow with several hair-pin bends. Check In Out: Carlos is the most friendly host, housekeeper, and odd job man. A truly delightful person who will take care of your every need.”

“Overall: Fantastic. Enjoyed Most: Pool and garden were beautiful. Enjoyed Least: Outside seating/dining area was small and odd. Surrounding Area: Great location... 30 mins from everywhere! Siena, Cortona. Local village of Pozzo was quaint and has good pizza! Tips or Restaurants: Restaurant Lodola is 2 kilometers away and was one of the highlights of the trip. We ate there 4 times!!! Check In Out: It was excellent.”

“Overall: We and our extended family really enjoyed our stay at Villa Lariana. The property is large, airy, and comfortable. The staff (property manager, housekeeping, chef) is terrific. Enjoyed Most: There are lots of bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and air conditioner. The kitchen is commercial quality and huge--perfect for preparing meals for a large group. The heated pool (which can be completely covered in case of rain) offered welcome relief at the end of each day. The ping-pong table in the game room kept the kids occupied. Enjoyed Least: This villa is not in the best location. Pianello del Lario is a small town with little to see or do. The ferry only arrives twice each day--in the morning and afternoon. Bus service is hourly. Getting around was complicated without a car. Surrounding Area: DON'T MISS the Boat Museum (La Raccolta della Barca Lariana), which is no longer open to the public, but can be viewed by villa guests with the property manager. It's a spectacular record of the nautical history of the lake. We also enjoyed walking the length of the public lakefront walkway that passes in front of the villa. Tips or Restaurants: HIRE THE CHEF, at least once during your stay, for a fantastic multi-course dinner. She is talented, knowledgeable, and friendly, and she prepares mouth-watering dishes that are beautifully presented.For dining out, we loved the Veranda Beach Cafe, a lakefront restaurant within walking distance near the Pianello del Lario ferry landing. Directions: Arrange to meet the property manager at an alternate location, then follow her to the villa.”

“Overall: Very good. Outdoor area was very nice. Enjoyed Most: The privacy and the view. Enjoyed Least: The bugs. Surrounding Area: Beautiful countryside and access to Lucca. “Overall: Overall, our experience at the property was pleasant and relaxing. Enjoyed Most: The view of the lake and close proximity made each morning's sunrise special. The gardens and grounds are very serene with chaise lounge chairs which made for easy relaxing. The terrace allowed for beautiful alfresco dining. Enjoyed Least: The air conditioning in the middle bedroom never did get cool according to the couple who stayed there. The instructions for the washer/dryer are in Italian, only. The rugs and runners were quite slippery with nothing to keep them anchored. One of the lucite chairs in the kitchen broke. Surrounding Area: Walking distance to the little market and restaurants. Easy transit by bus to ferry landings and other towns. Nearby Events or Locales: Laglio was within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: The two restaurants in town were both very good but I cannot remember the name. Fresh fish offerings and pasta were both superb. Directions: We took private transportation and had no problem finding the property.”

“Overall: Very good. Great house. Enjoyed Most: Views, pool, decor, heaps of room. Surrounding Area: Good weather. Nearby Events or Locales: Otivar. No. 30 min drive away. Special Experiences: RentVillas assisted me in arranging some catered meals. A good idea has cooking for big groups is not easy! Tips or Restaurants: None. The instructions are good. Although there is no need to bring money for tourist tax. Directions: We just used Google Maps. Perfect. Check In Out: All good.”

“Overall: The people who work at the villa could not have been nicer. Enjoyed Most: The back of the house, the back of the house, the back of the house. Local flavor. Enjoyed Least: Showers are small. The nosie from the street is a problem but not so much. Nearby Events or Locales: Amalfi is only 1 1/2 miles from the house, but it is not within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: The outside sound system needs to be upgraded or people need to adapt. We took the system out onto the deck and hooked it up, which worked reasonably well. As for restaurants, Ristorante Eolo in Amalfi was great. Cocktails should be at the Palazzo Sasso or the Hotel Palumbo in Ravello. The Bellinis at the Santa Caterina Hotel in Amalfi are the best in the world, but pricey.”

“Enjoyed Most: It was very large, and gave us an "uncrowded" atmosphere. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room, and bathrooms to be comfortable. It was close to everything we needed and the owners were wonderful. Enjoyed Least: There was nothing I didn't like! I could have stayed for months!! Surrounding Area: Lucca is a wonderful city! Lots of resturants and shopping, and easy to get to. We did side trips to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Venice. The Lucca train station can get you anywhere. Nearby Events or Locales: Not sure of the name of the closest town, but you could take a healthy walk to it. Tips or Restaurants: The owner will give you suggestions for restaurants. The Frattoria Mianoche was beautiful and very affordable. Follow directions or you could be lost! Pizza place close by that was delicious! Walking shoes are a must. Anything you forget you can get at the supermarket. When we would get lost, and couldn't find the villa, we always looked for the Carrfore sign, and it always got us back to the area we were looking for.”

“Overall: It was a very comfortable place to enjoy the country living experience. Enjoyed Most: The location. It has a beautiful view and is easy to get sights in the surrounding area. Enjoyed Least: There was very little basic kitchen supplies provided, beyond salt, pepper, and olive oil). We were supplied with 2 bath towels for the week, but we did have a washing machine. Surrounding Area: The views were spectacular and there were easy walks around the village. Nearby Events or Locales: La Capelle et Masmolene Tips or Restaurants: If you plan to cook or have some wine to drink, bring it with you. The closest store is about 6 miles away. Directions: The directions were good, but I highly recommend using a GPS.The one I had also showed the speed limit, which was very helpful. Check In Out: We couldn't have asked for better.”

“Overall: The villa is beautiful and very clean. The gardens are beautifully kept and the pool and surroundings are lovely. Enjoyed Most: Location close to Florence, Chianti, and a sizeable town with a great supermarket. Enjoyed Least: The hot water tank that serviced the kitchen and bath above was not working well. Affected the couple in that bed/bath area and the kitchen sink and dishwasher. We reported it to owner the second day but did not get a repair for the duration of our stay. Surrounding Area: Close to everything we wanted to visit. Nearby Events or Locales: San Casciano, which is a bedroom community for Florence, has many good restaurants. It is not walking distance from the villa.”

“Overall: The overall experience at Vill Ilia was great. Enjoyed Most: Aside from the amazing view and comfortable property, having the owner nearby was great. He was always helpful and even dropped off 2 bottles of his wine for us to enjoy. Whenever we had a question, he was more that accommodating and willing to help. Enjoyed Least: The mosquitoes were a problem. The property was described as having screens but some windows did not have them. Surrounding Area: We were not far from Cortona, which was fantastic. It was one of my favorite towns. Nearby Events or Locales: Cortona was the nearest town but not within walking distance. You had to drive there. Tips or Restaurants: La Grotta was my favorite restaurant in Cortona. Directions: I did rent a car but ended up turning it in the second day. We had a driver for the rest of the trip.”

“Overall: Lovely villa. Enjoyed Most: Location- close to bus station and high up. Enjoyed Least: It might be nice to have specifics on stores in areas (local grocery) vs. info provided verbally-- we weren't processing everything due to level of fatigue!The amount of steps to/from villa is VERY difficult for some people- our group was fine but needed a porter to get our luggage up the steps at end of trip. Banging suitcases down the steps was also trying--might have a porter there when people check in--ask if you want one. It is a hike! Surrounding Area: Capri and Sorrento, Ravello. Nearby Events or Locales: Positano Tips or Restaurants: Cooking class was great Buca de Beccas, though pricey. I like the "local" scoop/info vs. being trapped as tourists and paying outrageous prices. Considering cost of villa, local info would help, and not just business cards but the real deal. Where does the owner go?? Directions: Had driver. Check In Out: All good. Carmela accommodated us by checking out the night prior due to early flight.”

“Overall: Great place for large family. Lots of room to separate and do your own thing. We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed Most: Pool and games room. Lots of room to spread out. Near the beach and lovely views. Enjoyed Least: When it rained, water did come into the bathroom. Surrounding Area: Great location, near shops, restaurants, and beach. “Overall: Overall a good experience. Enjoyed Most: The house and yard was gorgeous. Also, that the owners were very sensitive about whether we were happy with the house. If we had any questions they were responsive. We had a great time. Enjoyed Least: Loved it all! Surrounding Area: The location is not very pretty. The house sat up on a hill, so it was an oasis, but the seaside area below is way overdeveloped, and full of low budget groups who are really there for the all night partying and drinking. It was not somewhere we wanted to walk around with children”
