“Only sold a guitar there because it was very difficult to get it sold for the price and quickly elsewhere. The selling fees and commissions are ridiculous. They basically hit you 3x over for just about the same commissions. But the part I really hated is that the earnings they show you vs what seller is paying is disingenuous and leads to mistakes The 'Bump Fee'. This is silly and I should have never done it. "recommended 4.5%". That 4.5% is on TOP of their existing 5% commission structure and 'processing fees'. If I ever sell another instrument I'll avoid this site unless I can only sell to a rare buyer. What a rip. Otherwise, it is secure and there is safety within the double-blind payment system for new buyers/sellers.”
“Tips for using Reverb:
1. Do not fall for requests to take the sale offsite. This is a scam 99% of the time, and against Reverb's ToS 100% of the time.
2. Do not buy from 0 feedback sellers who only accept PayPal. Scam.
3. When I sell an item I buy my shipping labels through Reverb. This way you get paid as soon as you print the label.
4. Be persistent with customer service. No, their support is not very good, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
As on most of these rating sites, people are big mad about their own errors, or that they didn't understand the ToS. Reverb has plenty of issues, but it's still better than Craigslist or Ebay. I swear that most of these reviewers have also been victimized by the Nigerian Prince email scam. Get smart, don't get scammed.”
