Four months down the line and still no sign of a refund, still processing at HMRC. On HMRC site it says expect a reply 2 months ago!!! Not sure what is going on as I have to ring them for updates. Probably not Rifts fault hence 3 stars but I feel they could chase up and keep me informed better. Will probably use a different company next time.

Very friendly on the phone, however it’s a very long process and I found I was the one calling you to check in on how things were going, also I think the commission you take is extremely steep!

Hi, thanks for the review. The length of time the process takes can vary, however we do advise that it takes on average 16 weeks from the point you first contact us. We also try to ensure that we are as thorough as possible to ensure that we only claim what you are entitled to which helps to prevent HMRC opening up enquiries that would delay a claim even further. Regarding our fee, unlike our companies this includes both our guarantee (ensuring that any money you receive is yours to keep), and our aftercare service (which means that if you have any issues with HMRC following a claim we will look into that for you). These are things which other companies will often charge extra for. If you do have any further questions then please don't hesitate to let us know.

Always been happy with rift but on this one I felt abit rushed due to only a week and a half to sort payslips and p60 when on a tight and unplanned schedule.

Got my refund but could be quicker as friends used forces money and got the money back within 1-3 days

i received one of my tax refunds back i am still awaiting on the further refunds which has taken a lond while due to hmrc looking into my case further i do think the speed up of the posting process on both sides could be alot quicker

Got my refund by doing the majority of the leg work. They explained every thing I needed and sorted all the admin. Making it an easy process. However once they had my claim in hand they did slow down and I had to keep chasing them.

We do need you to supply the information to be able to complete the claim and then we have to ask questions based on this, we need to make sure what we complete is as accurate as possible. I am sorry that you had to chase us, so I will make sure I feedback your comments.

Phone Service was good but the constant contact with the same message was poor and the length of time to get settled was a disappointment

I'm pleased as I got a refund, however the company seem very unorganized as I had to give extra information to them several times as they didn't take all the information needed at once. They were also useless at making contact with me to get the missing information and it would be 3 weeks between my phone calls to them to find they couldn't proceed until they had the missing information they kept neesing.

I was happy I think taking 28% is a little to much though in my opinion. 20% is a lot more reasonable.

Thanks for the feedback, we offer a great service, we work until 8.30pm and Saturdays Mornings to fit in with our clients and offer after care at no extra charge. We also have the RIFT Guarantee, so as long as you provide correct information to us and HMRC inquire into a claim, if it is our error, you do not have to repay a penny.

Well I got a refund but then recommended my friend and never received £50 so very disappointed my number is 07496720426 if you want to rectify this!

You understood the military environment and therefore what could be claimed. I note however you do not ask in this survey how you could improve??? Your fee's are very high but more importantly you very nearly lost me as a client as you kept chasing me for information by both letters and calls after only a few days after asking for it. Clearly I am the customer not yourselves and when I am ready to supply any information I shall do so in my own good time. This is clearly a trait of your Company as colleagues using your service have also mentioned it.

Thank you for letting us know, some clients like to be reminded, some are happy to complete in their own time, make sure you let us know you do not want so much contact next time. We offer a great service for the fee at 28% for PAYE clients or £245 for CIS clients. Lots of things are included for the fee we offer, one of which is our RIFT Guarantee. We really do hope you return again next year.

Wouldn't say happy? As my tax code was changed days before the pay was processeced , this resulting in me paying double tax this month and being underpaid by £600+
