“It is lovely to test out all the great snacks and that is usually comes with a cup or plate. That being said, you only get enough tea for two people to have one small cup and it is very pricey. I also was unaware that it is a recurring subscription, we paid over $200 for 3 months and then it auto renewed and they refused to reimburse us. It is very expensive for what you get. Also, over those three months there were repeat snacks in the boxes. I would get one box, but certainly not something I would want long term, but I am stuck with 6 months of it...
Had the company offered to assist with reimbursement of the remaining 3 months (orders we had not received yet) I would have upped the review to 3 or 4 stars.
Also, the snacks are all pretty similar to one another and not as diverse as I was expecting and is what I would expect to get out of a vending machine or a prepackaged snack you would find at a local Asian market for much cheaper.
Also, a lot of the items come crushed to a pulp in the box, but still edible.
Too expensive for what you get.”
“Our experience has been terrible from start to finish. The first box came and some of the packaging was damaged. The second box came and one of the items was crushed but still edible. The third box came and one of the items burst and covered all the other items in jelly. Two of the items were ruined and the rest needed to be hand washed in order for us to try them. We reached out to customer service and they told us to order more boxes and then they would add two items to the next box. We told them we would not be ordering more boxes but would like the two ruined items from the 3rd box replaced. They offered us $3 in store credit. We pointed out that this would not even cover the two items on their store much less if we included shipping. So their final offer to make things right was to give us a $2.95 refund. This is insulting. They clearly have no intent on making any kind of good faith effort to make this right. If you are considering a Japan snack box try https://www.bokksu.com/ I can't speak to their quality but they can't be worse than Sakuraco.”
“I was super excited to receive my Sakura box for April so I was very disappointed to have my expectations not met. The tea from my box was super salty and tasted like seaweed and it was not enjoyable. Half the treats in my box was stale and I couldn't properly due to the tea being awful. I wanted to try out Sakuraco since I'm happily subscribed to the Tokyo Treat box. So I was extremely disappointed that i couldn't enjoy the Sakura box as well. I would understand if the tea was bitter because of no added sugars, but for it to be salty? That was unacceptable to me.”
