I was pulled aside by an agent for Scottish power while on a walk in my town. I signed up to a tarif but was told I had a cooling off period. Well within five days I cancelled because their tarif is not the cheapest on the market. I called 3 times to make sure I cancelled, received a confirmation of my cancellation twice. Last night, a direct debit came out of my account to Scottish Power for gas. Our entire flat building does not have gas supply so it's pure theft. After complaining they say I'll get refunded but the point is that they are basically borrowing my money without my consent which is theft. Not to mention wasting my time. Do not bother with this company.

Shocking lack of knowledge about which department to speak to about air source heat pump service plan. Called seven different departments! Please get your act together because I’m not comfortable giving you money if this is the level of communication you offer.

The worst energy company. I have been a customer for 4 years. The customer service is absolutely appalling there is no structure in place of how to deal with customer problems with this new profound smart meter they encourage you to get . 6 times I called and go different answers on how to fix the meters not linking up to my gas and electric smart meter I still was non the wiser and basicly got told there could be a fault but can’t get a new one because they don’t have enough supply: I then find out I am in credit so I wanted to receive this back over £180 this goes on for 6 weeks me ringing back to see if this has been generated which it still hadn’t. On the 4 week the women said she had processed this and to ring back in two weeks to make sure it’s all gone though. I left Scottish power 3 days ago and ring back up to chase the refund they are now telling me I have to wait for the final bill which I can already see on my account for them to then do another investigation for me to receive my money back. Two months for it still not to be solved and you wone to why people leave! My new provider has beat my gas price per day by .10p less!

Should be minus 5 Stars rating. Four years on from being forced to have smart meters they still do not work despite numerous calls visits,would not refund £1200 of my over payments for 12 months, To many issues to list, it just goes from very bad to absolutly unbelievable Worst non existent customer service ever experienced in my 70 years on this earth

1 star is only because I can’t give zero. Terrible customer service it drowsing matter which incompetent member of staff you speak to they won’t do what they say or ring you back. In fact one team member said SP management had cut down the amount of outgoing calls they can make! The icing on the cake was I asked to make a complaint and the call was terminated.

Absolutely awful experience with this company. Over charged until I'd run up £1000 in credit without offering a refund. I have since cancelled and the final bill was settled from my positive balance and a refund issued to my account. This was after hours of wrangling with their useless chatbot and non existant customer services. I have now recieved 3 bills on the same day for my final day's use totalling over £700 and they say I now owe £330 to them (this doesn't even add up at all). Again I'm wasting my time with their useless chatbot and cannot get any sort of customer service but I'm advised not to cancel my direct debit for £330 or face further charges. I'm disgusted by how their systems are so poor that this problem cannot be sorted without a major stress. Avoid this company at all costs.. I've moved to Octopus and so far they seem great and easy to use. I cannot convey strongly enough how poor my experience with Scottish Power has been. Update.. having a response for customer service on twitter they have ignored my request for them to explain why the 3 bills have appeared and still say I owe them £330..again a zero for customer services

They are truly shocking and just seem to make things up for fun when you ring them .I was getting estimated bills despite having a smart meter one of which was 900 pounds for a two bedroom flat that I am rarely in.The meter has never worked yet they think its acceptable to fit a smart meter and still make me submit a reading once a month.Turns out they had me on Economy 7 all the time instead of dual fuel.I switched to octopus just to stop the stress

Due to thier total incompetence I now have three accounts all with wrong details gets worse every time I explain problems to them now threatened with my belongings and bank account beeing seized. Terrified.

So I had made my final bill payment on april and told them to switch my account on april itself and had moved from that property . after 1 month i get a notice on june saying my final bill is £259 something when speaking before i had made my payment on april and shocking thing is when my family wasnt in the property how are we supposed to pay for the bill this is disappointing and i wouldn’t even rate 1 star to this supplier . When switching from edf to scottish they had come over to our place at late evening and convinced to switch at that very moment but biggest regret of all times .

Worst company ever, I've spoken to 50+ people over the phone over the past 5 years and 2 have been helpful and done what they said they would do. My complaints escalated to the Financial Ombudsman twice because Scottish Power lied to them, telling them they had completed the 5 remedies set out and in fact they never completed any!! Finally after 5 years I've had to go down another route and getting this sorted, I will be changing providers straight away and would never ever recommend this company. I've been shouted at, lied too, over charged, I'll never understand how they are allowed to operate the way they do.

Appalling!!! I have never had the misfortune than with this company! Having charged me an obscene amount I left in March and issued a formal complaint. This process has nearly driven me over the edge and today they say my final bill was incorrect so they want more!!!! I feel physically ill because of them.

Completely disingenuine company and customer service was appalling. We spoke to their “customer service” advisors on many occasions and they were largely unhelpful. Two advisors, Melissa and Aphiwe, were frankly rude to us and would refuse to help or to transfer us to other advisors. Wanted to make a complaint internally with the company but they wouldn’t let me over the phone so had to come on here. Can see that others have also had a terrible experience. Stay as far away as you can, save yourself from getting scammed. Absolute scum. Will be contacting the ombudsman and have switched our energy provider.
