DO NOT BUY FROM SHONA JOY! I spent $350+ on a dress that looked gorgeous online. I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately the dress I received looked NOTHING like the photo online. The color was WAY off, the fit was off, the fabric was frumpy, and it was poorly made. I sent pictures of the dress in real life and screenshots of the website to their team thinking they’d understand, noting the obvious differences but they pretty much told me there’s nothing I can do and I’d have to cover the cost of shipping back to Australia which is going to be at least $80. NOT WORTH IT. DONT BUY FROM HERE!!!!

Beware--I ordered 2 dresses from them (total value was ~$650 USD). I had to return from USA back to AU and the shipping cost was $80 USD (at USPS) for a tiny package less than 1.5 lbs. Beware that I was quoted $220 USD from Fedex. There is only Express shipping allowed from USA and these were the cheapest shipping options. BEWARE, DO NOT ORDER. QUALITY IS ALSO VERY DIFFERENT THAN PHOTOGRAPHED.

I’m so disappointed by this brand. I order wedding dress from Australia, the dress is not correct size, it’s doesn’t fit me well. Now I have to return it and pay the shipping by myself. The shipping cost from Germany are 75€! I think that’s not fair to let the customer pay for the shipping if the dress is worth 400€, it’s a no-go! In this case we are also speaking about wedding dress, the shipping cost should be covered.

I purchased a dress … on the day it arrived I tried it on and did not like it so sent it back straight away… only to receive an email to state it had a hole in it and they could not refund because I did not state that it was faulty… I did not see the hole and that is not why I was returning.. it must have had the hole when it was sent out and I didn’t notice. reading the reviews I am not the only person this has happened to. I sent the item back straight away and not that I could have worn it- we are in lock down.. stay away from this company… I will never purchase again and have advised my friends of the poor service. Literally if I could give zero stars I would. I wouldn't have paid $50 for the $300 dollar dresses I received. I was hit with a $130 duty fee for them to get to me and then when I went to return the worthless merchandise that I received I had to pay for return shipping myself. Could not give this company a worse review. If you want to order cute dresses from an Australian boutique and not get ripped off then order them from Beginning Boutique (and not I don't work for them). Seriously the worst express I've ever had with an online clothing retailer in our outside the United States.

Horrible customer service. I ordered 2 dresses in 2 different sizes and returned one that didn’t fit the same day . Upon there arrival they said there was a stain and sent it back to me to keep. Why would I return a dress stating it Doesn’t fit if it had a stain on it ? I would clearly would have said it was damaged from the get go . Really bad customer service , I would be aware of buying anything from this company . You will get stuck with the item whether you chose to keep it or not . Horrible company

Horrible expereince!!! Do not buy, the quality is not even close to worth the price. Our bridal party purchased, excited to wear the dress again after the wedding. Unfortunately, all 6 of our dresses began pilling after only 3 hours of wear. We simply put the dresses on, took pictures, rode to the church, and the dresses began pilling and wearing after the ceremony. Extremely dissapointing. To top it all off, we weren't even granted a refund. 100% not worth the price for the cheap and destructible quality.

Horrible customer service, dress arrived a month later after paying EXPRESS shipping and expected ME to pay $20 to return it back to Australia and refused to waive the fee after they made the mistake on the order invoice. Absolutely ridiculous, horrible customer service. Avoid purchasing from this brand

I am extremely frustrated. I was initially very drawn to the design of the clothing but I wished I’d read the reviews first! And I’m not a reviewer! The company should be upfront about the difficulties for international customers . Apparently, customs requires the physical address of the merchant. This can be found nowhere online! On top of that, the response time was at least 3 days by email and I could never reach anyone on the phone. So I spent the entire week tracking down the address information so that my package could be released. After the long delay with no resolution, customs returned my $1000 order to the seller! So not only do I not have anything to wear for my wedding events, I have $1000 tied up until Shona Joy receives the shipment. Such a horrible and first-time online shopping experience. Again, I should have read the reviews first!

I wish I had've seen these reviews before purchasing with Shona Joy, I have had the exact same terrible experience with their refund policy. I purchased a $300 dress and when I received it, it just looked frumpy and the material was stiff and uncomfortable. I thought it was a lot of money to spend on a dress I would probably never wear and so I returned it. Of course they would only allow for a credit note and so I purchased another dress which when it arrived had poorly made seams and was falling apart and again the dress was unflattering and a horrible fabric. Still no refund - just another credit note. Overall disappointing. they don't have the customer in mind at all, the products are overpriced and poor quality, and they probably know it too which is why they're holding onto unsatisfied customer money.

The worst company in the world. I bought a dress and it didn’t fit and I tried to send back they refused to make the return, when I said I was going to contact the accc they accepted the return, I sent the dress, and when the delivery arrived they said I don’t send the dress, the package it was empty that they were not going to return the money, well now I'm without the dress and without the money. It’s scam company don’t trust this people.

You will have to pay to return an item. I tried to return an item I purchased at full price that was too big and it would cost over a $100 to return! Beware! This is a total rip off and completely unacceptable!

I will never buy from Shona Joy again!!! While I have (eventually) ended up with 3 nice bridesmaid dresses for my upcoming wedding, the hassle and effort to get to that point has not been worth it for me. Long story short = don't advertise to people that they can buy bridesmaids dresses which are identical in colour if you can't actually deliver on that! My bridesmaids and I ordered fabric samples from Shona Joy from their 3 different bridesmaids lines. After selecting our preferred colours and styles I phoned Shona Joy to check that they had the item in stock and was told that they "had plenty". I went to order 2 days later and there was no stock left. I subsequently phoned and found out that Shona Joy was discontinuing that particular line and there would be no more stock coming in. I was not told about this originally and was annoyed to have paid for fabric samples for a discontinued line. That was the first fail on their part. We ended up picking a couple of dresses from one of their other bridesmaid ranges which are advertised as "mix and match" (i.e. the colour is identical and you can choose different styles). We ordered 2 dresses in one style and 1 dress in a different style but all advertised as the same colour. I even phoned and confirmed with Shona Joy that the colour would be identical and emailed again to confirm. When they arrived the dresses were different shades of the same colour! Like, noticeably different and not what we were promised. That was the second fail. When I phoned they offered to swap the dresses for me but they made me process a NEW purchase for a second lot of dresses (so I was out double the amount of money) and they promised to refund me for the first lot of dresses if I mailed them back. So I mailed the original dresses back and received a refund for 2 dresses but only a store credit for 1. I had to phone again to get that changed to a refund. That was the third fail. When the new dresses arrived they were NOT THE SAME COLOUR. I could not believe it! When I phoned up about it I was advised that I would only get a credit if I returned the second lot of dresses EVEN THOUGH they were still not the same colour. That was the fourth fail. After going through so much hassle with them and having them promise that the new dresses would be the same colour they did not deliver. At least with the second order the colour difference was very slight so my bridesmaids and I decided that it would probably be close enough for the day so we are just going to keep the second batch and deal with the shades not being identical. HOWEVER, this is not what was advertised or promised on their website. Shona Joy should not advertise their bridesmaid range in the way that they do. If they can't actually deliver multiple dresses in the same shade they shouldn't advertise that they can. I should say that I did deal with the same person from customer service the whole time and she was very lovely and apologetic. HOWEVER it still doesn't make up for all of the stuff ups and also that I still didn't get what I paid for and what was advertised on their website. I will never buy from Shona Joy again.

Sizing is terrible, material is cheap and does not replicate exact item from website. Overpriced for the items they are producing.

DO NOT RISK ONLINE SHOPPING.. WORST COMPANY FOR ONLINE SHOPPING!! Received notification that a dress I was after came back in stock. I wanted to buy 2 sizes to compare, I noticed no refund so I rang and they said ‘definitely no refund’ and to go with the larger size as I could tie it up at the back, also ‘they just came back into stock so I should not have a problem’ even though I purchased day 2, I received it within a couple of days but it was too big so I went to exchange for a smaller size and there wr no one left. I called them and told them I took her advice on the sizing and I do not want anything else as I was buying for an engagement to wear and wanted my money back. Which was ‘never going to happen’ according to ‘the manger’. .. as I wasn’t going to risk another order from SJ I took the dress to seamstress to take in for me, which again cost more money..

I too will never purchase from Shona joy again !! Terrible quality worth about 10% of what I paid truly ! Poor fabric quality - pictures on website not representative of items ! Sooo disappointed especially for the cost .... I will not look at the website as will never purchase anything again !

Terrible experience purchasing online... will never buy shona joy again. The colour wasn't the same as what is shown on their website and they wouldn't refund the money. So i had to spend $340 on something i didn't like

I ordered a dress from the Shona Joy website and it never arrived. I contacted Shona Joy by email and was told that in the event an item is lost while in transit, they will not be liable and I’m just out the $229 I spent on the dress. This would violate UCC laws in the US but I suppose Australia does things differently? In any event, I will never shop Shona Joy again. I know they don’t care if they lose one customer but I can’t imagine I’m the only person who this has happened to.

Buyer Beware Terrible returns policy for online orders. One of the only online stores that doesn’t offer a refund if you take the risk and buy online. EVERY other online stores offers refunds. Will never put has anything again from this store
