Was disappointed in the amount of time spent on tours in each location. Tour director didn’t communicate effectively in English and was impatient and at times sarcastic. The dinners included were mostly mediocre restaurants and guests were served and expected to be in and out very quickly. There was more time spent traveling to each destination than actual touring time.

The tour director was not very well organized. In other tours we often had knowledgeable local guides but not on this tour. On other tours written instructions were provided at each hotel on the plans for the current and next day, but that was not done on this tour.

Enjoyed the group and the Tour Guide/Bus Driver. Although surprised regarding dual duties of Guide/Bus driver. I have traveled with Smartours in the past and was highly pleased. This tour missed the mark. When the itinerary deleted Windhoek and substituted Johannesburg for one night that created a wasted,exhausting day because there was no time to do anything in J’Berg. The itinerary could have improved with an additional day in Swakopmund or Sossusvlei in my opinion. The itinerary was just flat for me as I have traveled this itinerary before. Not dining at one of the most scenic restaurants the Tug in Swakopmund was a disaster although fine dining at the Hansa Hotel was ok but no ambience for a coastal town. Also, no options like sand safari. No dinners included in Victoria Falls hotel which has one of the most expensive hotel restaurants with no nearby restaurants except Boma was not reasonable, and would have required one to go into town at night. Botswana was fine except construction at hotel detracted from the ambience and relaxation. Food was ample. I understand this itinerary was canceled for the future. A little more effort and company expense on developing itinerary could have improved the itinerary and made this a memorable trip for me. I was impressed with flights directly to Walvis Bay airport. Also appreciate the staff at all of the hotels. Always felt safe.

Hotels were not as good ad on my previous trip, no porters at any of the Scanfinavian or Russia hotel which is ridiculous. Betty Levin didn't exactly put herself out, Russian and Copenhagen guides were fabulous others mediocre. Food st Stockholm hotel was awful.

The tour was too strenuous for me and I think that there should have been a warning of some kind for seniors. I also felt that it tried to fit too much in and that there was way too much time on the bus. Our tour guide rambled on and on and people tuned out and consequently missed out on the kernel of information we needed. I was disappointed that there were so few dinners included and also that the farewell was not very good even though the restaurant was charming. We didn't get much guidance on where to eat on our own either. Usually I'm very easy to please but I could go on for quite a bit about the things that I had a problem with on this tour. I had gone to South Africa with you n a few ears ago and loved it but this one makes me seriously question whether I'll use your company in the future. I really thought that our guide left a lot to be desired.

We.4 peoplr from CA where stranded in London Airport for 1 hour 46 min no body to pick us up. If it wasn’t for a tour guide from Global that we ask her to call we would had been there for longer. She was told we will be pick up by City Transport in 1/2 hr they show up in an hour. We lost all that time that we could have use visiting the city. Other than that trip was good, a very good tour director. We had a problem w one of the hotels no hot water & only one small elevator working

Air part of the trip was a disaster Your brochure had our flight from Miami leave at 11.55 , when I checked with withAvianca they told me there is no flight at that time. I was assured by people at smartours that flight is leaving at 11.55 pm Flight left from Miami at 3.40 am we almost missed our flight again stopped in Bogota reached Cusco then straight started our tour This trip has left very bad taste we certainly will look at other tour company for our next trip

Andrew, our guide and Ian, our driver were great. Unfortunately the hotel in Edinburgh left much to be desired and the itinerary provided too much bus time while missing some key attractions. The British Museum in London is free and should have been a destination. I have travelled Smartours to Ireland (best tour I ever took), Thailand, Australia and New Zealand and they were all great. The iteneraries for this tour just didn't match up.

The boat was very nice and the hotel in Buckarest was great. My problem was mainly the food on the cruise. Almost everything had a form of preservative. I have allergies and sulfites make me ill. At first, I thought it was because most wine contain these sulfites, and I stopped having a glass of wine with dinner. However, I found nothing changed. Finally, I asked for a list of food, known to cause allergy reactions. Finally, I discovered that almost every item contained sulfites. I recommend, you ask your restaurants to publish restricted food on each page of their menus. Your list of items recommended for us to bring from the USA, was ridiculous. The Discover River II, provided all the personal items we lugged across the Atlantic. Don't you talk to your trip providers? Somethings were no one's fault, missing 2 days in Budapest, for extra days in Serbia was a disappointment. I will use smarTours again, but not use the air flights, only the land package. The poor selection of seats, provided no wiggle room for my feet, and I ended up with four days of swollen feet & ankles. We did enjoy the ship, the entertainment on the optional tours in Vienna & Budapest, the crew and our fellow passengers...

The trip was just as outlined in the SmarTour’s itinerary. The guides on our Russian trip were excellent. Unfortunately most of us on the tour got a Norwalk ( or similar) virus on the ship. The crew and SmarTours guide did everything they could, including providing Dr. Services and needed medications, however, I personally was very ill for 4 days and could not eat for 6 days. The problem was on the ship as most people fell ill. I Consequently missed some stops and activities. I expected SmarTours to contact us regarding this and do think that some kind of compensation would be in order.

Very disappointing experience with the tour guide! Felt she had a lot of favorite fellow travelers! She did not take into account that there were older travelers that actually needed a scheduled time for lunches due to certain health concerns.
