I got the Core watch - Cool device. I really find the vibration-based metronome an effective tool for practicing being on tempo in a way that forces you to feel it more than hear it. The other features (timer, stopwatch, display of notifications from the phone, etc.) I find convenient and the interface is smooth enough to use. Lower rating only because I find the tuner is not very responsive - certainly not comparable to a snark or other clip- on tuners. Also, it seems pretty limited with what range of frequencies (instruments) it can pick up. I play mandolin and it really struggles with the two high strings on that. Maybe it’s a bit more geared toward guitars, but I wasn’t very happy with the how responsive and accurate it was even with a regular 6 string acoustic. All the other features work well and are nice and easy to use, but for the amount of money these cost, I expected more of the tuner. That’s a pretty big drawback for me. For $20 you can buy one that works better. Heck, even using tuning apps on my iPhone works better. I liked the idea of having all these features in one place in this cool watch.. but I still end up having to grab a stand alone tuner. I think the magnet mount idea is really neat, but the tuner function itself needs improvement to compare with any other store bought stand alone electronic tuner. Otherwise, would be nice if they added a pitch feature to the tuner function (where it could produce the note you are wanting to tune to), as that can be more coneveint then struggling with a tuner that can’t pick up the frequency of the string you’re playing very well.

I have problems keeping the Core paired to my Soundbrenner app on my IPhone. I have to go to Bluetooth and tell it to forget this app and then pair it again to the app. It works well as long as it stays paired.

Right I so want to get on with this thing, I have the soundbrenner core, it’s a beautiful piece of kit, and I really like the concept. Iv been learning piano for almost 2 years now, and my timing is decent been producing music for 10 years also so been listening to music for a long time. Iv been useing this watch now for a little while not so often but hear and there, because I can’t seem to get on with it, im getting a bit used to 1/4 beats with it, this seems to be easier, but I do loose time with it as I can’t feel the vibrations, I just seem to loose them then get lost. Stick my metronome on Ableton and im all good no problems. Tried a few other rhythms example 1/8ths and the vibration is just to mushed together to get on with it. Im gonna keep on trying to use it as I’d rather use vibration then listening to a metronome click. I’m kind of watching the flashing lights to help keep time. The app is good I like the metronome on that as you can get all your subdivisions and stuff. Just wish you would put an option for 1/8ths 1/6ths triplets etc, instead of the notations or an option to switch between the two. So for now it’s 3 stars as it is a great concept just I can’t get on with it because it needs to vibrate more for me. But other people might like it.

Generally I feel deflated and disappointed by my Soundbrenner. My timing is good. I have practised most days since 1952, using a Metronome on many occasions. Apart from wearing the Soundbrenner and feeling the beat and tempo on my wrist or body. It offers no significant advantage over a conventional and far less expensive Metronome.

I love the soundbrenner core and it immensely helps with my learning, but I'm disappointed that the part of the Body strap rig that holds the core, broke after just a few usages, I'd expect a bit more durability for this price.

Device is well made, but pulse remains too weak for use in a live setting. Also, metronome BPM display is too small. This should be ten times as large as it is the only function most users need, in my view. Every string player has a $10 tuner clipped to their headstock (plus one in their pedalboard), so tuning function is completely superfluous, as is DB meter and watch, etc. Eliminate these functions and the included accessories (earplugs, extra watchband, etc.) to reduce costs. Good for practice, though. They finally got rid of the need for a separate device to activate the haptic metronome. Nothing more annoying than an electronic device that requires another electronic device to work…

I really want to love this device. I have struggled to adapt using haptic feedback for the metronome. It does what you say it does. But if I am doing anything busier than a rudimentary drum groove, I loose the sensation of the vibration. I do not think it’s anything wrong with the device. It is very clever. I am not defeated however, I will continue trying, but so far I have been struggling with the device.
