“In my opinion, the course is very poor in their content. The videos displayed have a bad quality of sound and image. Some of the questions that i had to respond where not specifically related with the information provided during the course. There is no opportunity to check what is the correct answer, only it's showed if the answer was correct or not”

Good day Anonymous, Sorry you feel disappointed. Both courses are different but do have some overlap according their corresponding IMO modelcourses and have been approved by several national Shipping Inspectorates. “I was expecting more about this course. It only covers the role of Safety Officer Onboard in very general terms. It does not go in deepth about the specific hazards and risks that can be found on vessels. I´m feeling disappointed because I did not learn anything new. This course does not worth what I have paid for it.”

We understand the background and former education is different for each participant. Hello Pena, The Crisis Management and Human Behavior course you took matches all the criteria set out in the IMO modelcourse and is approved by the Shipping Authorities (LISCR). We try to tailor our courses for all seafarers, no matter what their educational background or nationality is. So some will find the course easy where others will need more time to comprehend. We have been in the maritime business for years and offer approved courses such as the Security Awareness course you took. Security Awareness training is mandatory for all seafarers and is offered through various maritime training institutes. Regards, John, STCW online team

“Two days ago I did the STCW and they told me they will Send me a link to download my Certified in PDF and untill now they Send me Nothing and Royal CARIBBEAN is asking me Why I m taking too long to upload mi Certified, I NEED IT, other wise I Can not will get on board, I Sent an email to the adress you have for support and some guy told me I have to pay 28 Euros for my Certified, if you are not gonna give me my Certified then give me back my money. alextuguia@gmail.com +529841150998”

Dear Romero Lopez, we are sorry you had a bad experience. We have checked and your Security Awareness certificate was mailed to you within 24 hours after completing the course. Perhaps something blocked this email or it might have ended up in your spambox. We have mailed your certificate again today. Please check your mail and spambox. Each participant is free to print their PDF certificate at any time. However, if someone requests a hard copy we have to charge 25 Euro's for handling, postage and Track & Trace. “The course is good if you want just a fancy certificate to look at. I'm rating it with one star because it is not recognized by the Portuguese Maritime Authorities as stcw certified. In order to Renew my CoC ETO I need all other stcw valid certificates such as Crowd Management, basic safety, first aid, etc . It happens that they do not recognize these online training courses as legit. Bottom line these training courses are not considered legit for legal matters in Portugal, it was a waste of money and time.”

Hello Marco Antonio, Thank you for your comment and congratulations passing your Crowd Management training. ETO (Electro Technical Officer) is a course we do not offer as it is a vocational training and cannot not be done online. Referring to the Portuguese Maritime Authorities is therefore irrelevant in this case. Kind regards STCW.online team.

“Terrible. As any other course, we are supposed to get the certificate after the exam, but not with this one. I don’t know if they think we don’t have nothing else to do, to make this exercise after passing the exam. I work already in a yacht and that’s already exhausting, and they make me do 10 pages exercise, take the time of the chief officer as well. I would NEVER recommend this course to anyone.”
