Took too long get support for not being able to log in. Log in infrastructure wasn’t good at all and I heard multiple complaints from other people.

The materials and videos are very out of date.

Thank you for your review. Although some material may give an impression to be 'outdated', the content is still very relevant for gaining knowledge regarding maritime disasters. For instance, the Costa Concordia disaster was used as a case study in the course you took. Although this event took place in 2012 it is still considered as a showcase for Crowd and Crisis Management training on board ships. Thank you for using STCW.online and safe sailing! Some questions on the assessment are quite debatable and different answers could be considered correct. Some parts in the course are not clear why it in the course and the questions in the course are strange attention questions. Not worth the 80 odd dollars...

The course is overpriced. There should be more visuals and audio. Most of the course is only slides with text. The assessment contains questions or possible answers to a question that were not covered in course.

You need to change some of the questions as many are hugely misleading and trick questions - particuallry the ones where there are multiple answers. There is also questions that include content and require asnwers of how to deal with situations that you dont even cover or state e.g if someone can go and get there medicind in an emergency you dont cover that? you allow people to go get warmer clothes but not medicine? yet you also say in one of the videos that if soemoone isnt going towards the muster point that you guide them in the correct way, very confusing when you dont cover stuff in the training and then ask questions about them. also alot of the questions dont actually even make sense e.g soemthing about what shows an effective response to an emergency? just think its bad english, what does that even mean - it should be more like what would allow for an effective response in an emergency !

Dear Anonymus, thank you for your review and sorry the course did not meet your expectations. FYI. All our courses have been developed by specialists with extensive maritime background. Furthermore they have been audited and approved by several governmental shipping inspectorate's. Therefor they meet the standards set out in the IMO modelcourses (International Maritime Organization. Getting to the hard copy is extremely difficult paid no email on we will send. This is cost efficient and handy for courses but getting am official hard copy is very difficult

Hello Thomas We are sorry you had a bad experience with the postal service. Although we are a fully online training center we do understand that some participants prefer a hard copy instead of a PDF which they can print out themselves. However, despite using a Track and Trace for each envelope it occasionally happens that there are errors with this service. I hope you understand that postal services are beyond our control. Helo.. I already give a review of your course. 1. My ID certificates can not verified and I already report that but not solve till this moment. Please solve this problem as soon as possible. 2. I have a course payed for and downloaded. However was interrupted by work, therefore could not complete the course. It has been a week and after mailing in I can not get hold of anyone to help me with a new link for the course, even after calling.

Good day, We sorry you feel that way. Gaining certification is mostly mandatory to work at sea. Being able to take these courses online is a convenient and cost effective method to obtain the certificates you need and approved by many flag states. Of course you are welcome to take the same courses offline at a physical institute but unfortunately many people don't have access to this and taking the course online is far better. Too many issues to overcome in order to access the courses. • Need to make sure you have certain internet restrictions turned off. I literally had to go to a different building with a different wifi router just to sign in and do my course! • Certain settings for different devices depending on how you want to access your course • Even after paying I still wasnt able to do my course until I made even more changes to my device settings • Couldnt access the app suggested to me to download my course to try and do it offline Thankfully the customer service team members I spoke to were quick to respond and very helpful. Fortunately for STCW.Online they are one of the only websites that offer online courses but it was terrible having to jump through so many hoops and then pay £80 for what is reality is a very basic online course. My thanks to Merel, who helped me access my online account and course

The course is good and handy. But there is zero communication. It was announced that I could request a stamped copy, I sent a request, but did not receive a response. So for now 2.

The course was filled with bad grammar and formatting. Two of the questions in the test have the wrong answers. In the course slides it says 60-80% human error accidents where as test says 80-90%. Another question says engineering controls are not the best method to remove a hazard.

Hi there, just a couple of points to feedback on. - A couple of the test questions that were true/false answers had an additional third option that was blank. I have photos I can send over if this is any help? - On the test, one of the questions asked if the passenger was allowed back to his/her cabin to collect medicine. The correct answer was no, except if there was an announcement. Nowhere in the training material could I find where it stated this? I could find where it said that they could not return, but not the extra bit about the announcement. There was a similar question about retrieving warm clothes. - One of the questions on the test asked about selecting a 'prominent position'. To help the learner on their journey, it would be helpful to reference this phrase in the training material. - Another of the questions on the test asks about abandoning from a tilting ship. I could not find information in the training material to help answer this question? - On chapter 6 page 2, when you click the previous button it takes you back to chapter 5 page 17. The same happen on chapter 6 page 3. I hope this feedback finds you well.

Could not get this course to work, Emailed twice for assistance did not get any replies, had to down load an old Browser to get it to work in the end, would not use this company again. Course was OK once got it working no other issues just lack of help when needed, try having some real people on yore help section.

Hello David, thank you for leaving your comment and sorry you had a bad experience. Our courses start by opening a new window and sometime the user's settings are set to disable this. We have checked our ticket system and you mailed us the error message November 17th and 18th. In both cases the response time of our support desk was within 2 hours. Therefore, we presume that our mails might have ended up in your spam box. Fortunately, you managed which is good to hear!
