Much like others here, the fuzzy wording regarding the nature of what's on offer lead to us offering up our card details and getting lumbered with a stealth subscription. Essentially all they do is offer the ability to send a message to a tutor. For £29 a month. The money doesn't go towards lessons and is due from the moment the first tutor contacts you, even if they never respond again. "Your Card is only Fully Debited if a Tutor accepts your Request" means "If you contact a tutor, and they reply in any way, we take your money and you ain't getting it back. And it's every single month until you realise what we're doing". Sneaky, sus, unethical, dirty scamming scum, milking tutors and students alike - globally.

I wish I'd checked out these reviews sooner. Superprof is a scam; they take money from your account monthly without making this clear nor giving any way to opt out. Tutor asked to be paid outside of the platform and then left after 4 weeks of tutoring too. I will be reporting them, it is a dishonest business model.

Company seems like a scam. They charge your subscription upon acceptance of a tutor. A tutor did accept our request we were charged £39 and then tutor did. Or respond to any messages - tried several times and also messaged helpline - no reply. Plus they bombard you with emails to encourage you to subscribe - once subscribed all communication stops!

Ineffective Service and Unjust Charges: Over £550 Lost with No Sessions Signed up on the platform for a personal trainer but found no suitable options. Despite not having any sessions and only communicating once, my account was confirmed and I was charged £29 monthly for nearly two years, totaling over £550. They refused to refund despite no usage and explaining the situation to the support team. I confirmed the following with them at the end of that conversation where they confirmed they would not refund the charges… 1. I accessed the platform for less than one month. 2. We confirmed that during that time no sessions were accepted or took place as the only interaction with a tutor resulted in them rejecting my use of their service. 3. Their support team confirmed that the notification (as shared below) reads "Your Card is only Fully Debited if a Tutor accepts your Request". Ineffective Service and Unjust Charges: Over £550 Lost with No Sessions

Would give 0 if I could.... They charged me £35 subscription which gives me the ability to contact their tutors. I thought it was for the lesson! The payment interface was confusing and even asked me to choose a day for the lesson.. this made me think I'm paying for the lesson. The tutor and I got in contact and after speaking I felt like I did not want to proceed with him. Since I paid already, I thought I would just give it a shot anyway... Once I found out from the tutor that I had to fork out additional fees for the class, I proceed to cancel the lesson. The tutor requested for a cancellation charge. I asked for a refund from Superprof as I was not going to proceed with any tutoring services on Superprof (so dissatisfied with the service already) and requested for it to be paid to the tutor for his inconvenience but they were unwilling to even compensate their tutors.... Misleading, confusing business model, I would avoid!

Avoid at all costs! They take money upfront, but it does not guarantee that you will even hear from any of the tutors. My son signed up to this company for some language lessons. He contacted a tutor, who responded once and then stopped responding to his messages. After a month Superproof took the next payment, but the was still no response from the tutor. When we contacted Superproof they informed us that the fee was just to access the tutor's contact details, and it doesn't actually matter if he gets any tutoring at all. The fee DOES NOT go towards the actual tutor fee anyway. So now we have paid two months' worth of fees for a service that was not provided.

Do not use them. They took £35.00 just to subscribe which I thought I was getting a lesson for. I have received no service and will not give my money back. They are a fraudulent company stay away. I will not leave them get away with it so still fighting for my £35.00 back. They should not be allowed to carry on operating this way. DO NOT EVER USE THEM

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience - Do Not Recommend I recently had an unfortunate encounter with a tutor named Jeelani, and I feel compelled to share my experience to alert others and hopefully prevent them from going through the same ordeal. Upon accessing the provided link to meet Jeelani, I was redirected to a company called Wiingy. To my surprise, they offered to complete an assignment on my behalf, specifying a completion date of 19th October 2023, and charging a hefty fee of $266 Australian dollars for their services. Trusting in their promises, I proceeded to make the payment via my Westpac Bank MasterCard. Regrettably, Wiingy failed to uphold their end of the bargain. The assignment I had entrusted to them was not delivered, and all attempts to contact them via WhatsApp for clarification and assistance were met with silence. It became increasingly clear that they had no intention of fulfilling their commitment. They were unable to provide me with a tutor or any form of assistance, leaving me in a state of significant financial loss and frustration. To my disbelief, when I inquired with Jeelani about her connection to Wiingy, she confirmed that she is related to the company. This revelation has led me to strongly suspect that there is an unsettling connection between Jeelani and Wiingy. In light of this experience, I can only express my deep disappointment and frustration. It is my sincere hope that others can be spared from similar misfortune by avoiding Jeelani and any association with Wiingy. I believe, based on my experience, that Jeelani and Wiingy are not to be trusted and may indeed be operating with questionable intentions. In conclusion, I implore anyone considering Jeelani's services or encountering similar circumstances to exercise extreme caution and avoid any dealings with this individual or entities related to them. My experience has been disheartening and financially damaging, and I would not wish it upon anyone else. In summary: Do not trust Jeelani or Wiingy. My recommendation is to stay far away from them and seek legitimate and reputable alternatives for your educational needs.

Please becareful they will set a defualt continue service and continue deduct your money from your account which you dont aware. I have bad experience and actually there is not service after the payment. Tutor ask you directly pay the money to the tutor, tutor ask you to pay 10 classes in the first time. how come I know this tutor is suitable for me. the mechanism is not work. too free style and not professional enough to run the platform. I will not choose this platform in the future. If you ask me whether I recommend anyone to use this platform i would say if you want be ripped off you can try. I saw many simular comments on the different platform, so say it is scam. you definately upset and disappointed with no more confident to use this kind of online service.

Complete scan, you sign into a monthly subscription, I've been conned out of over £250, I needed a tutor for my son for June 22 a levels. Found a great tutor. But beware you will be charged a monthly subscription. I only queried this on October 2023. These fraudulent guys took £29 a month from July last year to October. I assumed the sign on fee wS a. One off. I'm going to complain to my bank that there direct debits were unauthorised. Beware.

I registered, but I can't get in touch with the teacher, and they keep saying there are no available slots. I'm paying a monthly fee without any benefit. I feel like it's close to a scam. I'm really sad.

I'm a professional musician and teacher with 20 years of experience. I have been on several advertising platforms and I must say that this one is the worst I have been on. They charge both the teachers and the potential students, on top of that, if a student doesn't leave a recommendation for the teacher, they deactivate the teacher's profile, even if the teacher paid the site for the whole year! No refund given.

This is definitely a scam. I have been looking for an English tutor for my son. English is his first language, he just finds some of the wording in exams tricky. He has ASD and is great at maths, IT, science etc but when questions have hidden or subtle meanings - such as in English Language, he struggles to see the wood for the trees. I was very clear about the type of person we were looking for to provide additional support. I found someone called 'Ellie' and then paid the subscription, reluctantly, having not even spoken to 'Ellie' at this stage. I paid and was then able to email the tutor. This tutor was not available and the options forwarded to me were not at all suitable. Available tutors were teaching English to those that do not speak English as their primary language and have no experience of SEN/ASD. The one man I found that might have been able to help has failed to send lesson links each time. Very disruptive when you consider the work we have put in to prepare my son for each lesson, and then the tutor can't be bothered to show up. No communication. My subscription has been cancelled but I feel as though I've been duped. Avoid.

SCAM! STAY FAR AWAY. EVEN IF YOU'RE DESPERATE. I am well and truly upset about this “service “/scam. I’ve been charged $69 x 5 months without my knowledge. Not only did the first tutor not even respond which I ultimately gave up on the entire service and nothing else was arranged. Therefore not expecting to be charged such substantial amount through sneaky transactions every month. Their little “free 1st lesson IF tutor accepts the lesson” is totally wrong. They will pull out the fine prints, terms and conditions etc to blame you and not their transparency of the service. I contacted customer service which offered no realistic resolution in terms of the money lost. But merely offered a months access to the scam of a site (like in my lifetime I will ever use this service). Sad to see that others have faced similar situation and also have no resolution. I agree with some of the other comments. This needs to be addressed with the ACCC. To customer service who may reply to this, don’t bother to try and keep appearances up, the amount of bad reviews speaks volumes and I hope you’re enjoying your scam money.

They didnt advertise that they would take a charge and ended up taking $39 non refundable despite my emailing 10 mins after they let me know a charge would be incurred. Very manipulative. They are also trying to get reviews taken down that let people know this.

Be careful before signing up they take money from you for nothing and won't refund you, they make it look like you pay the teacher but instead just take your money. On top of that you need to pay teachers this is a massive scam 😒

I wanted a teacher for a particular time slot but the suspended my account and wouldn't refund me because they said I went against the terms and conditions. This is because I run a small language training company so obviously I need teachers. During the bizarre time I was a member, I contacted some teachers whose profiles looked good. But Superprof sent automated emails as me offering the class to random teachers with terrible profiles too! God knows what "I" wrote in these emails. To make matters worse, Superprof sends you fake replies from teachers. I only worked out that the replies were computer generated when they then didn't make any sense with the real, second message the teacher sent. I might get a fake message saying the teacher could do the class, and then a real message written by the actual teacher saying that they couldn't do that slot. One teacher even referenced "the madness of Superprof" in our conversation. Now reading the other reviews I'm concerned that they will keep charging my card for this too. Even if you got a teacher in the end which I didn't, £39 is a total rip-off. Gumtree or Indeed are much better if you want a teacher.
