“This was not the first time I have used the services of Zip Yard and as before I found the work done for me was excellent. The seamstresses are very good at their work and they relate well to the client. The service is quick and efficient and I have no hesitation in recommending Zip Yard to others.”

“I had to have my suit jacket sleeves taken up in a hurry which meant the buttons had to be moved up the sleeve too. Because the suit has a contrasting stitch detail to the material color, I did not want to lose the stitching so this also had to be moved. I did need the alteration done same day (granted - my own fault) however when I collected the jacket 2 hours later, I was charged £88!! £88 for the shortening of two sleeves, moving 4 buttons p/sleeve and stitching 8 non-functioning button holes. I vented my frustration another tailor in town after the incident who tells me she would have charged me no more than £30 for the same alteration in the same timescale! I shall not be using the zip yard again.”

Thank you for taking the time to complete your review. When you dropped off the suit jacket in a hurry and asked us to complete the work on the same day we were happy to help and informed you of the price before hand which you accepted. That was the same reasonable and fair price for the work you asked us to complete at short notice when you dropped the suit off and collected it two hours later.

“I came in the shop the owner was there, I took in two pairs of trousers for new zips and a button on both with a button hole. On picking up the trousers after paying£36.90 to find they had put new zips In both but two buttons and button holes in only one pair. I than got told I had only paid for one. If I wanted to leave them and paid again I could have the other done the trousers only needed one in each so no I sm not happy it's not cheap so you think it would be done right first time. Looking at my receipt it say under 2 units so it's mean 2. So I think from my experience I will not be coming back thank you”

“I have used the Zip yard three times now. Firstly I had my favourite 1960s dress that needed a new zip which was unfortunately broken on dry cleaning, the lovely lady told me it would be easy to fix, and she was right , it was ready in a couple of days, PERFECT. Then I had my 1970s trousers that needed a new zip, they sorted that in a couple of days. Wonderful. Then last week I had my 1960s shirt that needed badly hemming as it was unwearable as it was. They yet again sorted me out in no time at all. My vintage clothing means the world to me and would only ever use Zip yard as I know they do exactly what you ask, and the staff are so friendly. Brilliant. Thank you to you all.”

“I have used the zip yard on several occasions and have always been very impressed with the quality of the work carried out and the professional and friendly manner of the staff. The work is carried out quickly and efficiently with the added bonus of a text to advise when the work is done. I would and do highly recommend the zip yard.”

“So pleased with the jumper repair and quickness of how long it took. My only critisism is I felt that the lady that served me both on the Monday morning and when I collected the jumper on the Wednesday was very miserable. I thought perhaps on the Monday morning it could be acceptable but she was the same on the Wednesday, a little smile goes a long way. People do notice these things, she could be more welcoming as well.”

“Jeans needed taking up. Excellent, professional job done. Fit perfectly now and job was so good you can't tell they were altered. Very good price answer service was helpful and speedy. Definately recommend to anyone and will return as I need a zip replacing on a jacket.”

“Went in to the Zip Yard for my leather jacket to be repaired, I had ripped the back of it getting out of the car and the rip was not straight forward it had gone right across the back, The lovely lady on the counter, Maxine was very helpful and very knowledgable she told me that it was possible to repair and the seamstresses would be able to add a new panel, I was a bit sceptical because of the size and shape of the rip, I picked up my Coat and it was perfect, like new. I will be using the zip yard in future, not many places can repair leather but the Zip Yard can. Brilliant!! Rob Willem”
