My Grandma went there to have some trousers let out at the waist. On their website it says “expert clothing alterations” and I would have to disagree as they instead cut off 4 inches from the legs. They then didn’t refund her for the service which she had to pay in advance and although they bought her some more trousers from M&S I do not think this is sufficient for their mistakes in some trousers she wanted to take on holiday in 2 days. I also feel it was extremely rude that when picking up the pairs of trousers they said the “M&S ones are stretchy so better for older lady”. I am very unhappy with this and feel it is disgraceful service.

Very shoddy work. Took my daughter's dress in to have shortened that she is going to wear to her friend's wedding as I did not have time to take it up myself. It cost me £35 and the work is very shoddy. The hem is not all the same width on the outer layer and the inner layer is all over the place. And it took them 10 days to do that! No wonder they ask for payment before the work is completed as I would not have paid the full amount otherwise. And to top it all off they did not even get my name correct even though I spelt it twice for them . Would not use them again.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. The owner told me my only suit would be back by 12pm as I had a job interview in London and was catching a coach at 1pm. Went to collect and not there. Staff told me the dry cleaning is never back by 12. Ended up paying £19 to buy a new coach ticket. Went to see owner and not interested. Told me it wasn’t his fault I missed my coach! No compensation offered and he didn’t care. I will never use again and suggest you don’t either. The actual dry cleaning wasn’t great either. Furious.

11/6/19 I have used Zipyard in the past and for my daughter Megan wedding dress alteration in Dec 2018. We have our 40th wedding anniversary coming up this Saturday and i brought a lovely new dress but it did need a slight alteration each side under the arms about half a inch taken in only. I arrived at zipyard today at 9.20am. As i walked in i reconsidered the lovely Italian lady who was the main lady who did Megan's wedding dress... i waved good morning to her. A lady with short blonde hair came forward... no good morning, even though i said "good morning" to her, her face said it all really. I said can you do a slight alteration to my dress for my party this Saturday. She just straight in with "NO".. we were closed yesterday and we can't. I said i can pick up Friday. "No" was the reply... so very abruptly said. Didn't even look to see the dress. I said well you did my daughter's wedding dress alternation and that's why i have come to you hoping you can do something for me... again "No". I left the shop, got in my car and cried i was so upset with the hostile service. Don't offer a quick same day service when you can't deliver a 4 day service even. Were we work we sell wedding dresses and i have recommended zipyard to lots of people.. I will not be visiting this shop again... It's a pity the lovely Italian lady isn't manager. If they could not do it fine but at least say it in a nice an friendly manner... i would of understood and you would of kept my custom. I went to Boscombe sew quick.. the lady was lovely, and said she could do it by Thursday, and also said she would adjust the sides a little for me as well.

Ive been here on many occasions but the last time my husband s very expensive jacket i requested they did it again £35:00 just for azip and very bad work . Threads hanging ,stitching all crocked ,Thought id give them another chance yesterday only needed a replacement clasp on a zip . £10.00. All i said was thats abit expencive , well i was soon put in myplace ,if i hadnt already paid I'd of told him id of told him just what i thought . Deffently wont be going back .extreamly rude and arigant

Went here to get a zip replaced on a very small bag and I was told that it would cost £25 which is more than I paid for the bag itself, I told the lady behind the till this and she told me to 'go get a new bag then'. Overpriced and rude service, will never come to this place again and won't recommend it to others. Very disappointed and poor service!

Probably the worst experience I have had,poor workmanship in fact the trousers were ruined, rude counter person and 2 days late!!! Very expensive for poor quality service would not recommend

Took in 4 pairs of trousers to be altered..1 was ok and 3 were different lengths ! They offered to alter 1 pair admitting responsibility but not the other two. Very rude and uncooperative, Anyone taking there garments there is a fool, for the sake of a alteration they have lost a local customer who will spread the word and give them a zero rating

Wasn’t happy. I got told it will be a week so turned up when they said it would be ready and it wasn’t. So called later that day and the lady on the phone didn’t check if my item was ready just said it will be ready after 4. So turned up at 4 not done hadn’t even been started. Got a phone call at about 5 saying they havnt only just looked at it and seen it needs more work that what I had already paid in advance for. Collected it the next day took it home and tried it on and it wasn’t right so had to take it back again, which then they eventually got it right so I could collect the next day. I won’t be going there again

They took my suitcase for zip repair which they said they could repair, a week later they phoned and said they couldn't do it, 2 days before I went on holiday Not impressed

Went to collect jacket that had been altered on arranged day and had not been done! I had paid for it too, won't do that again and probably won't use zipyard again as my Son in law went to collect his trousers that were being cleaned on agreed day and you had lost them!

very expensive in comparison to other shops in Bournemouth £28 to shorten two pairs of shorts !!! rip off could have bought two new pairs - also was told to pick them up over ten days later by then they were useless

1 STAR!! If it was too expensive for you WHY did you book your shorts in with us and not go to the other shops in Bournemouth as you say! When you arrived you would of been told the price and a due date, which you were clearly happy with otherwise you would have gone elsewhere or bought two new pairs as you say.

Dropped two pairs of new trousers in to be taken up. Was told if I want to express service it would cost me around £28. However; I can take normal service for £22 and colect by 4 pm the next day. This suited me as i was flying that evening and could take the trousers with me. I arrived the next day to collect my trousers but they could not find them, even though they told me they were on their system. I waited first i the cue and then was told to wait by whilst they dealt with other customers, I was then asked to come to the back of the store to look for my own trousers. I found them at a back of rack, and they had not even been taken up! I was then told if I could come back a 5 pm, this was not an option for me as I has a tight schedule and another meeting plus a flight to catch. I was also concerned that they intend to just rush the job through. I has to leave without my trousers. I then received a call from the store apologising and saying that the trousers had been done if I could get there, which I couldn't. I told that my wife would have to collect on the following monday. The call apologies and said I would receive a discount. My wife collected on the monday, no sorry, no discount!!! I did however get a parking ticket for waiting to long before and now one of the pairs of trousers has already started to come down so I have to take somewhere else.

Telephoned to make an appointment to have my wedding dress altered, the person who answered the telephone could not understand me, she was Polish or Spanish, she kept asking me what I wanted and then started to get quite aggressive, I asked her why she was getting angry with me and she put the phone down, I telephoned back and the same person answered the phone and told me that I had to phone back later as she was busy with Customers???? disgusting service

I will never use zip yard again. The work they did on my daughters prom dress was awful, they lost the coast hanger and dress cover too. My daughter was so upset. They did sort the hem and was better but shouldn't of been like that in the first place. I was promised a phone call to advise if they found her dress cover snd hanger and I'm still waiting to date!! Looks like I'll have to chase them in this. Terrible experience

I am sorry to read about your experience, having spoken to the manager I understand there was a problem with the hem when your daughter tried on the dress however our seamstresses resolved it straight away for you. (You're right it shouldn't have been like that in the first place but we are only human and rectified the problem straight away). I understand unfortunately the dress cover and hanger has gone missing however as a gesture of good will for the inconvenience the entire prom dress was completed FREE for you.
