“Paid £48.00 thought I was having the whole dress altered by 3 inches turned out they only let it out under the arms when I took my dress to b altered it was dryer cleaned when I picked it up it had white powder all on the front when Ittook it back to dry cleaners to be cleaned again was informed that it was lime scale ironed in to the dress so obviously the zip yard Winton ironed my dress with a iron that hadn't been descale so cost me another £10 to be cleaned again . Never going there again.”

Nicola, this is very strange. You would of been asked to try the dress on in the store at collection to make sure you were happy. Any issues would of been resolved there and then so not sure why you went anywhere else. Also we provide a dry cleaning service so if there was 'white power' we would of had that removed before you left again.

“Very bad servise. They have ruined my dress and still charged me The lady on the reception said manager will call me and sort it out but they never did. It's very expensive and it's not worth it”

Hi Esra, I am sorry to read about your experience with the ZipYard. I can see you last used the ZipYard back in October 2015. I am unable to advise on the situation of your dress as the shop is now under new management and staff as of January 2016. “I got the zipyard to add one half of a zip to some kevlar motorcycle jeans to attach to a motorcycle jacket. I called before taking the jeans to them to specify kevlar thread since it's a safety alteration to ensure strength in the case of an accident and sliding along tarmac. I was told I didn't need to supply the kevlar thread as they had some and would use it. To attach a zip cost over £50, and they used a single line of thin cotton/polyester thread, and I then had to get them to strengthen it with more standard cotton/poly thread. All in all it was expensive and indequate. I wouldn't recommend them for motorcycle clothing.”

“I have only just returned from a long stay abroad and have not yet had the opportunity to call in and complain - but I will. I have a very expensive (£600) Barbour leather jacket had the sleeves shortened and it is an absolute mess. Very disappointing, as I previously had the sleeves to another leather jacket shortened and a very good job was made of it. I will not use Zipyard again, even for dry cleaning.”

“Terrible!! One leg shorter than the other....ruined! And all they would do is offer a freebie NEXT visit. No more visits will happen...you are a bunch of amateurs. I have found a proper, professional Polish tailor, who is also cheaper (because I'm a regular customer). GO AWAY.”

“I had to have my suit jacket sleeves taken up in a hurry which meant the buttons had to be moved up the sleeve too. Because the suit has a contrasting stitch detail to the material color, I did not want to lose the stitching so this also had to be moved. I did need the alteration done same day (granted - my own fault) however when I collected the jacket 2 hours later, I was charged £88!! £88 for the shortening of two sleeves, moving 4 buttons p/sleeve and stitching 8 non-functioning button holes. I vented my frustration another tailor in town after the incident who tells me she would have charged me no more than £30 for the same alteration in the same timescale! I shall not be using the zip yard again.”

Thank you for taking the time to complete your review. When you dropped off the suit jacket in a hurry and asked us to complete the work on the same day we were happy to help and informed you of the price before hand which you accepted. That was the same reasonable and fair price for the work you asked us to complete at short notice when you dropped the suit off and collected it two hours later.
