Took my brand new jeans in here to be turned up by 2”.was appalled at the stitches on the bottom,not level and loose stitches on both legs,any seamstress would be disappointed to show this level of work. £13 for this,normally do my own,and will in all future times.

Very rude. I went in asking for a quote the lady on the machines was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would never go back.

DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS Gave my suit to them to get it adjusted. I needed it for a wedding and gave them plenty of time to make the alterations. I went to collect my suit and the rude man aka the manager said it wasn’t ready and I had to come back. I explained that I didn’t live near by and it was going to be difficult for me to come back. He very kindly said he would drop my suit to my house by 6.30. 7.00....8.00 still no suit. He finally came and dropped it. Next day went to wear it and the alterations were all wrong. Called and the lady said she can’t do anything about this and to call back. Called on Tuesday after the bank holiday and spoke to the manager who was soooo rude. Said he feels the only reason why I was complaining was that I didn’t need the suit anymore as I had worn it to the wedding. I asked for my money back and be point blankly refused. They have ruined my suit. Do not use these rude cowboys.

Alteration - A pair of trousers that required taking up, within an agreed timeframe but wasn’t completed on time. Dropped the trousers on Friday 23rd requesting the need for them by Thursday 29th as I had evening function to attend. It was agreed and printed on the receipt for a Wednesday 28th collection. Come Wednesday zero communication, so I called and requested a status update. Was told my item would put me on the urgent list, and I would receive a text message upon completion. Come Thursday, zero communication. The store was closed on Good Friday, and I received a message on Saturday 31st just passed 10am informing me my trousers are ready. Excuse was on lack of staff, which is not the customer’s problem. Shocking communication and service. I requested a refund but was told no. I refuse to lower myself and argue with an irresponsible individual, who showed zero remorse. Won’t be using them again.

Took in a dress to be shortened. Got charged £18 and had to pay up front before the work was done, which I thought was unusual. When I collected it they hadn't even hemmed it, just cut it short with a pair of scissors. Really poor.

Dreadful service, will not go again. Not really worth one star but system won't accept otherwise !Was promised a date, texted to say not ready, so I called in the following week and spoke to manager, promised dress would be ready early the following week, called in 10 days later and job not even started so I requested and was given a refund. They had the dress one month, side seams to be taken in. Staff apologetic, manager not in the least helpful (almost implying it was not his fault the job had taken so long) Prices quoted on website also far less than actual prices in the shop

Don't even want to rate the service it was that bad but had to give a one for it to be accepted. First I was told my order would be ready by the following week then told on the morning of collection that its going to be another 2 days. After calling them and saying I can't wait when I went to pick up my garment it was adjusted wrong even though I gave a sample. I was then accused of maybe being in a hurry the day I came to give it in because I gave a sample even though I wasn't offered a fitting. Then I was told it would be another two days to fix! Then told to come back in two hours! Not acceptable. No genuine apology or anything. Won't be using them again. Shame because they were good when the old seamstress was there.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service! I would not recommend this tailor to my worst enemy. I brought expensive trousers to be taken up and they were taken up too much, with a very shoddy job done. I then called up to ask for a free redo to be lengthened, and was told this would be fine (after some pushback). Having gone back to the tailor to get the trousers lengthened they said it was my fault and they would not redo them for free. When I said this was bad service they shouted very rudely you can take your trousers and leave, and don't come back. If you don't want your day and clothes ruined, I suggest you steer clear of this place. The owner Marvin is very aggressive if you 'dare' to question their work done, even if its shoddy and not what you asked for. In this shop the customer is always wrong it seems.

An uncommon occurence for me to feel the need to pen a negative review but I do so here in the hope others will be able to avoid the ZipYard in Staines... both seamstress & owner were quick to argue aggressively when I explained how the previous manager had promised to have my suit fixed (for the second time) at no extra cost in three days time. Due to their lack of communication this hadn't been passed on and I was asked to pay another 15£ on top of the previous 75 upon my arrival, to an unfixed suit, at the aforementioned date. The owner stepped up this time and descended the most dreadful display of diplomacy after I said I would simply be taking it elsewhere and reviewing negatively. It was finally agreed for the service to be carried out at no extra cost and I was to collect it later that day. I did, only to find that nothing had changed, and having taken it elsewhere since, I'm told it will require total reconstruction to the blazer. A waste of money and a waste of conversation

The stitching from a trouser alteration came loose after its first use. As I got it done at a local zipyard store at the time and no longer near the store, the head office were incredibly unhelpful with suggesting a solution or resolving the issue. Will not be returning and have given very poor reviews on sites where possible. Absolutely dismal customer service and even more useless staff.

Appalling job on my garment. Not only did the lady make up the prices in front of me and keep changing them to be more expensive (patches cost more than the Gi altogether) The patches were sewn off center and botched. The patches on the trousers were sewn on the inside... What the he'll happened?! And the circular patch i wanted in the center (I even provided photographs for them) is completely off center. They don't care about their customers only the money, never going back here.

I took two garments that needed shortening. One was altered correctly but the other wasn't. The one that wasn't was for a special occasion and for me it was an expensive item of clothing. When I collected my garment and tried it on at home, one leg was longer than the other. Neither leg was even all round. I took my garment back to have it rectified but although it was taken up again it was still very uneven and still one leg longer than the other I tried it on in the shop and I still wasn't happy but they said it was fine. I took it home to show my family and ask their opinion, they said no way had it been taken up properly. I was told that it was the material that made it like that but as I said surely this should have been pointed out and then we could have taken is elsewhere. On my third visit, the manager did try to rectify but I still wasn't happy. The manager was much nicer & I believe tried to sort it out. I was very unhappy with the attitude of the owner of the Staines branch. He didn't seem to be bothered that we were upset about it because he has 'thousands of customers that are happy'. They did offer to refund our money for the alterations but I was concerned that if took the refund and the outfit was ruined we would not be able to do anything about. The manager did try to rectify and although we wasn't happy we just wanted to get out of the shop and get it sorted elsewhere. I can't believe I am the only person that has been unhappy with their alterations. I have since taken it elsewhere and have had it rectified at additional cost.

I changed a zip in this place after have to re-do 3 times because it was not center or not straight. I give up. The result is in the picture. The finish is far from professional

I asked for the top to be taken in and the sleeves shortened. They charged a lot for what I asked for. I did the mistake and only tried it on at home & realised that I was ripped off as only the sleeves where shortened & the job was very shabby.

Wala, Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. I am disappointed by your comments regarding your experience and that your first course of action is to leave a review of 1star. As you have mentioned we always encourage use of our changing rooms to check the alteration before you leave which you turned down and you would of been given a price when you booked in the item which you could of rejected if you thought too expensive. If you are unhappy with any of the work completed on your top please return the item at your earliest convenience and one of our seamstresses will have a look and make any necessary amendments. I also note you visited us in October last year and were happy with the service to came back a few months later. It's disappointing you are not as quick to share positive feedback as quickly as you are the negative ones.

I was very disappointed with the service given here. Firstly it was very expensive, £75 to bring a dress in very slightly under the arms and lift around the neck. Then they wanted the money up front, this was in case I didn't come back for my dress.....it was a bridesmaid dress that cost £250, I was coming back for it!. If they are worried take a deposit or card details but I wouldn't expect to pay for a service in advance. Then was the fitting, we got there in the end after going back 3 times, the person who did the initial fitting wasn't the person doing the alterations so she had no idea at all what shape etc she was altering to so of course it was all wrong. The dress was very slightly damaged and the owner was very rude and abrupt, just kept asking me how i wanted to pay my balance, offered no apology, told me there was no damage even although his seamstress pointed it out!!!! No customer service whatsoever, only focussed on money, very poor and would definitely not recommend them to anyone.

Seona, you were informed of the price up front. If you thought it was too expensive you were under no obligation to leave you dress with us. The cost was explained to you with regards to the complexity of work and delicate material on the dress. It's always disappointing when customers fabricate stories to get a discount or not pay at all as clearly you didn't want to pay from the offset. Your dress was not damaged and for complex fittings we often recommend a second fitting/

Took over 3 weeks to do a shorting of a skirt. Was not done properly and we should of returned it. Will not go back to Staines Suggest that you do not use this store , go some where else

HI Jean, I'm not sure why you gave us only 1 star. We offered you our express same day service but as you were not in a rush you agreed to a due date two weeks later. Secondly we would of offered you to try the dress on before you leave so any problems can be picked up rand esolved which you also declined. You have not mentioned in the past four weeks that you were unhappy with the dress so I'm not sure what has changed. As a gesture of good will please bring the dress back where our seamstresses can make any necessary amendments. Thank you

Thank you for your comments. I can see you last shopped with us back 2014. Since then we have a new owner, manager and team of seamstresses in and as you can see from other reviews things are a lot better. Hopefully you will try us out once again. Thank you

I dont recommend this place at all as I had to go back 3 times to the shop as the alteration was not right. It was a simply cut dress, they cut too much material off leaving my dress small and i hardly could sit down. I didnt realise until i got home and my 84 year old grandma had to do her best to fix it as the dress was for an important event. To summarise they ruined my dress.
