Treat Early -Start within one hour of migraine onset (Place Nerivio on your outer upper arm) 2. Increasing the Intensity: Set the intensity to a level that is strong but not painful in the first few minutes of treatment. 3.(And then keep it at that setting for the 45 minutes - don't increase intensity during the treatment).

Thank you for your review of the Nerivio Device. Setting Intensity -Since each migraine attack is different, there is no one right setting. The intensity should be strong, but never painful, and should be set within the first few minutes of treatment.    -The + and – buttons on your phone screen allow you to set the level, and just after you start a treatment, you can repeatedly press the “plus” button to increase intensity until the sensation feels strong but not uncomfortable.  -During clinical trials, the most effective treatment was obtained with intensities over 20% and with averages between 25 and 35%. If you do not get to 20%, however, do not worry, as long as it feels strong. -Although the intensity may feel as if it gets weaker during treatment; this is normal and is just your body adjusting to the sensation; there is no need to increase the intensity further.  If there is anything you need assistance with in order to most-effectively use your Nerivio, please call us at Nerivio cares at (937)-637-4846, Monday through Friday 8am-8pm EST.

Start treatment early. • For effective results, you should start the treatment as soon as you feel the first symptoms of the migraine attack and within 60 minutes of the migraine symptoms onset (headache and/or aura). 2. Setting Intensity at the start of each treatment • Use the + to increase the intensity until it feels strong yet comfortable and not painful. • We recommend that the intensity level not be changed during the treatment. 3. “Nerivio works while I am using it. My migraine will either completely go away or go down to a 1-2/10. After treatment, the migraine comes back within 30 mins. My only complaint is that I wished you could use this device for longer (as long as you wanted), use it for prevention, or use it as many times as you want (the amount of treatments in a month isn’t enough for the price bc insurance doesn’t pay and $50 is a lot for An hour relief). This needs to be improved upon greatly to benefit patients more effectively.”

There is no restriction on how often the device can be used though we have no data on daily or long-term use. Please consult your healthcare provider to discuss long-term use. “I have only used it a few times. It has decreased the pain level for an hour after treatment but then my migraine pain level goes back up. I am only able to do a 25% intensity as I get pain in my arm if I go any higher.”
