“It won't stay connected very well on android and Apple. Didn’t work 1st time using and one treatment was removed and I never got it back, even though I was on only a few minutes when it disconnected. Only use few times and haven’t felt any improvement in pain/migraines. I have 24/7 pain and migraines.”

“Good concept. Will probably work different for everyone. Good as part of the attack against migraines. Unfortunately the app does not work well with Android phones. The post assessment never comes up and it cannot seem to gather the data to share with Doctors so what's the point.”

There is no restriction on how often the device can be used though we have no data on daily or long-term use. Please consult your healthcare provider to discuss long term use. In the meantime, here are some tips you can use to increase effectiveness: 3 Pillars for effective treatment 1. Start treatment early. • For effective results, you should start the treatment as soon as you feel the first symptoms of the migraine attack and within 60 minutes of the migraine symptoms onset (headache and/or aura). 2. Setting Intensity at the start of each treatment • Use the + to increase the intensity until it feels strong yet comfortable and not painful. • We recommend that the intensity level not be changed during the treatment. 3. Treatment Time • For effective results, complete the full 45-minute treatment. Setting Intensity Since each migraine attack is different, there is no one right setting. The intensity should be strong, but never painful, and should be set within the first few minutes of treatment.    The + and – buttons on your phone screen allow you to set the level, and just after you start a treatment, you can repeatedly press the “plus” button to increase intensity until the sensation feels strong but not uncomfortable.  During clinical trials, the most effective treatment was obtained with intensities over 20% and with averages between 25 and 35%. If you do not get to 20%, however, do not worry, as long as it feels strong. Although the intensity may feel as if it gets weaker during treatment; this is normal and is just your body adjusting to the sensation; there is no need to increase the intensity further.

“It's more like a tens unit and the video is a biofeedback session. Tried four different times and it worked once. I tried to give it a one bar, but it automatically changed to three bars.”

To address your concern about our mechanism of action, here is a description below: Standard transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulators (TENS devices) on the market are designed with specific electrical parameters that activate touch fibers. The activation of touch fibers at the site of pain can temporarily inhibit the signaling of pain. That is why a TENS unit is applied to the site of pain. To better illustrate this mechanism, when a person hits their head on something and rubs it to alleviate the pain, they are mechanically activating touch fibers when rubbing to temporarily inhibit the pain. This mechanism is known as the Gate control mechanism of pain inhibition. Nerivio® is a remote electrical neurostimulator (REN) which works by applying an electrical signal to sensory nerves in the arm to activate one of your body’s natural pain regulation mechanisms called Conditioned Pain Modulation (CPM). The peripheral activation of Aδ and C fibers in the arm sends a signal to pain control centers in the lower brain to release pain inhibiting molecules that inhibit migraine pain signals. The electrical parameters of the Nerivio device are specifically designed to activate sensory fibers. TENS devices have different electrical parameters that activate touch fibers. Because of the difference in electrical parameters, the two devices have different mechanisms of action and are not interchangeable. Nerivio demonstrates a favorable safety profile with no serious device related AE’s (adverse events). Reported device related events are mild and transient and can include warm sensation, numbness, redness, itching, neck, shoulder or arm pain. We are sorry to hear about your previous experience.
