“Nerivio works while I am using it. My migraine will either completely go away or go down to a 1-2/10. After treatment, the migraine comes back within 30 mins. My only complaint is that I wished you could use this device for longer (as long as you wanted), use it for prevention, or use it as many times as you want (the amount of treatments in a month isn’t enough for the price bc insurance doesn’t pay and $50 is a lot for An hour relief). This needs to be improved upon greatly to benefit patients more effectively.”

“This is my second time using it. Today I was at a 9 on a 10 pain scale. I had all the symptoms: Sensitivity to light sound and movement, extremely nausea, sensitivity to smell, stiff neck, stabbing pain on the top of my head, and feeling like my head's in a vise. These are not all the symptoms but the major ones. Before turning on the mechanism I: put on comfortable clothes, laid flat, with feet slightly elevated, no lights are on, and I was comfortable as I could make myself being in that much pain. I usually have the mechanism on 11 but this time it was at all time high of 20. After the 45 minutes I feel substantially better. I still have all the symptoms but not as severe. I would rate my pain at a six now. I am very thankful getting this device. I have tried over 20 different procedures medications and meditations . I was a partial skeptic before trying it. But I was open to any help I could get. And thankful I tried it.”

We are happy to hear that you are feeling better! Here are a few tips on intensity that may help you further: Since each migraine attack is different, there is no one right setting. *The intensity should be strong, but never painful, and should be set within the first few minutes of treatment.    *The + and – buttons on your phone screen allow you to set the level, and just after you start a treatment, you can repeatedly press the “plus” button to increase intensity until the sensation feels strong but not uncomfortable.  *During clinical trials, the most effective treatment was obtained with intensities over 20% and with averages between 25 and 35%. If you do not get to 20%, however, do not worry, as long as it feels strong. *Although the intensity may feel as if it gets weaker during treatment; this is normal and is just your body adjusting to the sensation; there is no need to increase the intensity further.

“I’ve had chronic migraine for 30 years, and week-long episodes of intractable migraine. I’ve found Nerivio but not a cure. It’s particularly good with mild-ish migraines or moderate ones at bedtime. I can usually get to sleep afterwards without any additional med. It is otherwise a helpful adjunct with meds rather than a replacement. I do wish there was variability in treatment sessions, so that it can be interrupted briefly or restarted if I can’t complete it in one sitting.”

Thank you for your feedback. Here are a few tips that will help you to most-effectivly use your Nerivio Device: 3 Pillars for effective treatment 1. Start treatment early. • For effective results, you should start the treatment as soon as you feel the first symptoms of the migraine attack and within 60 minutes of the migraine symptoms onset (headache and/or aura). 2. Setting Intensity at the start of each treatment • Use the + to increase the intensity until it feels strong yet comfortable and not painful. • We recommend that the intensity level not be changed during the treatment. 3. Treatment Time • For effective results, complete the full 45-minute treatment.

Nerivio demonstrates a favorable safety profile with no serious device related AE’s (adverse events). Reported device related events are mild and transient and can include warm sensation, numbness, redness, itching, neck, shoulder or arm pain. We are sorry to hear about your previous experience. “I get 3 day migraines no matter what I do. The advantage of Nerivio is it does work for the day along with Ibuprofen and Acetominophen, but the headaches start to come back in each successive day. With Nerivio I can repeat the treatment right away on those day. Neck stiffness and soreness often remain.”
