“If I can sleep during and after treatment I have more success getting rid of my migraine. If I am at work then I feel like it just strains my muscles and I never fully get rid of it.”

Thank you for sharing your experience. Here are some recommendations on setting the intensity of your Nerivio device. This may help you when treating while engaging in different types of activities. Since each migraine attack is different, there is no one right setting. The intensity should be strong, but never painful, and should be set within the first few minutes of treatment.    The + and – buttons on your phone screen allow you to set the level, and just after you start a treatment, you can repeatedly press the “plus” button to increase intensity until the sensation feels strong but not uncomfortable.  During clinical trials, the most effective treatment was obtained with intensities over 20% and with averages between 25 and 35%. If you do not get to 20%, however, do not worry, as long as it feels strong. Although the intensity may feel as if it gets weaker during treatment; this is normal and is just your body adjusting to the sensation; there is no need to increase the intensity further.  If you ever have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at Nerivio Cares at (937)‐637‐4846 Monday‐Friday 8am‐8pm EST.

“The strap is useless. I have a Quell and you should investigate how they work it, it’s easier to use. I am still trying to figure out if it works or not. It sucks all the energy out of my phone and shuts down all other Bluetooth devices. However I will persist”

Start treatment early. • For effective results, you should start the treatment as soon as you feel the first symptoms of the migraine attack and within 60 minutes of the migraine symptoms onset (headache and/or aura). 2. Setting Intensity at the start of each treatment • Use the + to increase the intensity until it feels strong yet comfortable and not painful. • We recommend that the intensity level not be changed during the treatment. 3. Treatment Time • For effective results, complete the full 45-minute treatment. Setting Intensity Since each migraine attack is different, there is no one right setting. “Nerivio takes some of the edge off of a migraine for a few hours, which is helpful. However, it hasn't ever completely gotten rid of a migraine and the moderate relief only lasts 3-4 hours.”
