“I'm leaving my original review below, because I was very happy at the start. However, things changed once I decided to cancel.
I went through the cancellation process a few days before renewal. I didn't realize it at the time, but I did not receive a confirmation email. The renewal came up a couple days later and they charged my credit card and renewed my subscription for 3 months. I immediately cancelled (again) and emailed them to ask for a refund, since I had tried to cancel before and they hadn't shipped anything yet.
They flat out refuse, and if you try to get them to refund you (Even before they ship) they tell you too bad, and basically tell you that you're dumb because they told you there's no refunds. Ever. EVER.
I tried to work with them multiple times, asking nicely for a refund for a service that hasn't even begun, and they refuse with the same uncaring answers. If you search around the web or like Reddit for "Tokyo Treat cancellation scam" you'll see a million other complaints.
Avoid this company at all costs. The only way to get my money back for a service I didn't want and product that hasn't shipped is via credit card chargeback. Ridiculous.
Also note that while my first order arrived early, all subsequent orders arrived weeks late and much of the stuff inside was stale.

“Tokyo treat is a great way to try new snacks and flavors from Japan! You get a sampling of different things each month, from sweets to salty to soda, and you dont have to commit to buying a whole case of something you aren't sure if you'll like. We've really enjoyed our subscription and have been eager for each months box to arrive! We just subbed in August and got the September box, and I just opened up our October box.
We also dealt with their Customer Service about shipping, and they were super helpful. 🙂”
