I changed my mind when I was paid. I thought this was a good company, and they answered emails and chats, but proceed with caution. They didn't make the first payment until they gained my confidence and persuaded me to invest more money. When they stop paying and replying to emails or chats, it's a big con. Finally, I got my losses back from M_E_R_S_E_Y_H_I_P. COM. They are definitely worth a look.

YORKSHIRE POWER & GAS (UK) THEY WILL STEEL YOUR MONEY We started of ok and then there was a problem with a estimated bill based on our previous electric company, which we inherited when we took over the building. Phoned and explained what was going on and they acknowledged and said they wouldn't take the money, which they still did, we cancelled the direct debit so they couldn't help themselves to anymore of our money and complained, and then forgot about it because we got busy. 6 months down the line we get a bill in saying we now owe them money, which came as a shook as they stool £1345, ever since then we have been complaining and they have been refunding money to our account until now, we had a massive row on the phone and they have refused to refund direct fees which they are charging at £75 per month and refused to sort my account out saying that they can't do nothing and that we are in breech of our contact, beware of this company they will rip you off and i'm not the only one.

Utility Point gone bust then i rang them yesterday because they owed me 227 pounds after id switched.I asked the girl why after a long length of time they had held my money if they were going bust ironically. Now a long wait for Ofgem to sort it out.I took a photo copy of my credit balance on line as i had a strong feeling this was going to happen. They have now taken the site down.

GONE BUST...OUR ORDEAL IS NEARLY OVER It is an absolute disgrace that they used us to prop up their company, and kept lying to us. If you havent already seen the news, look now. We are assured we will get continued service and moved to a new supplier. Any money owed to us we WILL get back. So just wait, the ordeal is almost over.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEN OF THIEVES! On the 19th June I switched successfully to another provider. I finally got my final statement at the end of July saying I was £146 in credit. I waiting the 10 working days that is the Ofgem standard and rang them on 19th August to chase my refund. I was told that it was just waiting to be processed and would take another 10 working days and the lady confirmed I would then have my £146. I then queried why only £146 as they had missed their window and now owed me compensation of £30. She then admitted it would be £176. Fast forward 10 working days and I called again on 3rd September to be told my refund would be escalated by a manager and I would have it the following week. At this point I also asked for a formal complaint to be raised. I rang again today 13th September as still no money. Was told by the call handler that there was nothing he could do as it was with the laughably titled 'customer care team'. I asked to be put through to them only to be told they don't accept calls! A complaints team that won't take calls is ridiculous! So I asked to speak to a manager and was told that would take 5 days!! This company has all the customer service ability of a used teabag. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

STILL WAITING FOR REFUND OF CREDIT - THEY ARE STEALING MONEY FROM PEOPLE !!!! AVOID this company, told I had to wait upto 60 days for a refund of credit on my account, over a month & still nothing. 60 Days is not acceptable at all this is 2021 for gods sake, it's the click of a button to issue a refund. Too many reviews on here of Utility Point screwing people & their monies & not issuing refunds for months & months. IT's NOT THEIR MONEY IT's OUR's !!! SOLUTION ... I have taken screenshots of my account balance showing my credit, I will now cancel my direct debit in 7 days if my refund is not in my bank account. That way they can use the credit instead of robbing more from my bank account. I have all the proof I need if they want to argue anything in court. UTILITY POINT ... Don't bother with your copy & pasted usual reply to myself like you do to everyone else, JUST ISSUE MY REFUND

Absolutely one of the WORST companies I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Changed providers due to cost in May 2021 and am still trying to get my money refunded from this bunch of clowns/thieves three months later. They took an extra two direct debit payments and also owe me money to me from overcharging me. I have called at least five times and sent countless emails and also invoiced OFGEM. In short, do not trust this bunch of liars.

Money grabbers. They ask to submit your readings monthly to better calculate the bills. They then proceed to gingerly ignore them and bill you arbitrary forcasted consumption that, coincidentally, are way higher than your actual consumption. So you'll find yourself like me, starting off with a fixed 47£ per month plan, that was then increased to 53, then 67 than 73 then 84 and now, low and behold 103£ per month while being in costant credit. Basically they use us to lown them money fluidity! I am disgusted, strongly suggest to stir away

Liked them at first, however after 1 year they snuck me onto a new expensive plan I had never agreed to, by default because I didn’t arrange to select a new plan. I had assumed the same plan I was on would continue if I didn’t call them. The only time the new plan was mentioned was buried on the 5th page of a pdf attached to a single email. At no point was I asked to agree or confirm that I was even aware this would happen or that I was willing to pay the new high prices, which is verging on fraud. Because the bills are paid automatically at a fixed rate not the actual billing amount, it took a couple months before I even checked my latest bill and could so easily have been longer. When I found out I complained but Utility Point weren’t apologetic and said all I could do was change plan. I changed provider. When the change was initiated, UP objected to the transfer because the account had outstanding payments to be made. This isn’t how it’s meant to work - a utility company can’t force you to keep using and paying them because of past amounts owed. The transfer across should have gone ahead and a final bill been issued. It took UP 3 months to issue a final bill. One month after the transfer request (and payment of all outstanding charges) I called UP to ask why I was still receiving bills and requests for readings. The transfer still hadn’t gone through and meanwhile they were racking up new charges. They said the account had been closed and a final bill would be issued. I discovered 6 weeks later my account was still with UP and they were still charging me at the inflated rates of the plan I never agreed to. I again paid all outstanding charges because I wanted to be rid of them. However now a month later I am still getting requests for a payment that was already made and calls from a debt collector. This surpasses negligence. At this stage I am very tempted to take them to court for unjustified enrichment and under the Consumer Contract Regulations. I will definitely be reporting them to Ofgem. Please avoid.

Signed up for one year with this company. At first they were great. Easy to follow statements but need to remember you pay a month in advance. Having many years of experience with using gas and electric I now keep records of usage and have a rough idea what my charges should be. Winter is always more expensive. Utility Point increased my DDebit last January, ok but I knew by April my usage would drop I April. My contract ended June 15 this year. I was £96 in credit. One month before contract end I set in motion to change to Octopus energy. I gave readings to both companies when asked for. It has been a nightmare ever since trying to recoup my refund from Utility Point. I have a print out of my annual bill. They tried to charge me for early contract ending but I pointed out that I did not leave until the 12th month. They then agreed with me. After numerous emails to which I always received an answer and I tried a phone call waited nearly 11 min no one answered I am still waiting for my refund. Reviews on other websites also complain about refunds owed. If you leave this company make sure you have paid 12 DDebits and some credit for last reading then cancel them otherwise they will take money, I also received emails after I left them for meter readings. Their administration is atrocious, anyone who compliments them have not tried leaving them. I wonder if I can charge them interest on money owed to me. The ombudsman will soon be inundated with complaints if not already. Keep away from them.

This is worst energy company I have been with, I am an ex soldier 14 years for queen & country I have spent more on energy with this utility point than any other supplier, the app is confusing in that it contradicts amounts paid balance ,statement are different, I give meter reads every month without fail, I can't wait to get away from utility point,I can in sept, you need to treat customers with slot more help ,and update information on the app, customers are fed up with GUESSING what they owe. This is a true review I do not recommend utility point.

The most shambolic company I have had the misfortune to deal with to date. They encourage you to overpay and build a high credit balance on the account but like others on here I’ve just discovered that getting a refund from them is like pulling teeth. I’ve had to cancel my direct debit until credit balance is used up and will now escalate things to the Ombudsman. Don’t be fooled by offers of cheap prices and empty promises as you will regret ever being involved with this company. Ofgem should be ashamed of themselves by issuing licences to companies like this who are disingenuous at best

I used to pay Utility Point by Direct Debt and when I changed suppliers in October 2019, my account was over £100 in credit. Utility Point has still not refunded me. I've contacted the company several times since and they always reply by saying I'll receive my refund in 10 working days. Infuriating.

INCOMPETENT AND DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since December this company has lost my records of a burns test that i completed. Staff says calls are recorded but funnily enough cannot find my call where THEIR colleague told me my meter had to be replaced within the next ten days! December!!!!!!!!! Today (end of June) i am STILL explaining to these people about my problem (because they didn't log my emails or issues with my meter) STILL SENDING THEM EMAILS FROM LAST YEAR AND STILL HAVING TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING!!! NOW THEYT ARE TELLING MER METER HAS MAGICALLY FIXED ITSELF AND ITS SHOWING NO PROBLEMS!!!! They have obviously realised they have made a huge mistake and are trying to hide the idiotic error they made! Unbelievable and absolutely disgusting! AVOID AVOID!

I have now left these , they continue their harassment by refusing to close the account sending me non existent bills. They carried on taking direct debit after I have left which is dishonest. And refuse or delay refund of credit.
