Wish I had read these reviews earlier all of the items I ordered were very poor quality with late delivery times have had to dump most of the plants ordered e mailed them twice with no reply don't waste your money with this company .

Six weeks since order placed and money taken from my account. Customer services are a complete waste of time. Takes approx 15mins for anyone to pick up phone(premium rate no) n then no satisfaction. If my plants dont arrive in next two days l intend to demand a full refund. Will never deal with this company again and would advise others not to.

I wish I had read this before ordering. No confirmation of my order,plants meant to have been sent but not arrived,other plants due later than stated in advertisement I will be contacting trading standards. I have no idea how this company are still in business oh and don't forget hours on the phone trying to sort out order- no apology or compensation offered- avoid like the plague.

I stopped using Thomson and Morgan because of the poor quality of plants, but I have a sneaky feeling that Van Meuwen are the same company. I received some plants 2 weeks ago and complained, eventually, after over a week, they asked my to send a photo. That was 5 days ago, over 2 weeks since I received my order and still no reply. I am going to use garden centres from now on and pay t hat little bit more, but at least I will see what I am buying

I too wish I had read the reviews. Only half of my order has arrived from Van meuwen and it is impossible to contact them via telephone, they just do not answer the phone and I have had no response from the 3 emails that I sent to them. Do yourself a favour and save a lot of hassle by ordering from a different company, a company that offers some customer care. Avoid Van Muewen.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE TO FIND OUT WHEN MY PLANTS WOULD BE DELIVERED AS THEY ARE 2 MONTHS LATE, I CANNOT GET ANYONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE AND NO ONE WILL REPLY TO AN EMAIL. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS COMPANY THEY MAKE THERE MONEY FROM PREMIUM RATE PHONE CALLS FROM IRATE CUSTOMERS. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN

I am appalled by the service this company gives. It is impossible to get them to answer the phone to complain. I placed an order on 17th . March via the Guardian and my card was immediately debited. Still no sign of the plants which I gather from others are pretty poor anyway. O and the guardian gave me an incorrect phone number! I've learnt the hard way not to deal with van meuwen.

I ordered and paid for a plant over a week ago for a Bithday present, it said in the advert they delivered immediately, I have heard nothing, not even an email to say thank you for your order, I have phoned and was left for ages hanging on the line, never did get through to talk to anyone, doesn't fill me with confidence, I shall be writing to the Daily Mail l who carried the advertisement if I don't hear by tomorrow.

Ordered bulbs 09/03/15 with advertised delivery by end of february. Contacted them via website several times but no response. Telephoned customer services and was told lies by a lady who obviously was dimm as she contradicted herself telling me to wait for my post on 16/03/15 so I asked if royal mail deliver them and she said no, I asked why do I need to wait for my post then. She got flustered andcexpanded the lie so much I laughed. Phoned them today andcthey said they would put me on priority delivery by end of april. I did want the bulbs to flower this year I told them but they didnt understand. Money coming back. Avoid them like the plaque. Terrible

For the last two years I have tried to order the Italian Cypress. First year they had problems with the supplier? Second year could not make delivery as promised (Feb/Mar) told delivery would be made in April. If it does arrive I will be taking the matter up with the Advertising Standards Authority, as they are clearly making claims that they cannot keep.

I have dealt with this company for the last 3 years. They have always been erratic in their service and delivery. It is very rare that the plants and bulbs are in good condition on arrival, if they arrive at all and they never get delivered on time. delivery is either too early or too late. They use post office for delivery which is not track able and the plants get damaged in transit. Most of the plants are either dying or dead on arrival. Recently I ordered some bare root roses from them and found them virtually lifeless. I telephoned them to ask for a replacement for one of them and, lo and behold, was told to provide a photographic evidence of the condition of the plant.I found it outrageous and cancelled outstanding orders with them. Needless to say that I shall never use this company again nor I would recommend it to my friends and family.

sadly much the same as other ratings on this company! ordered 2 bare root roses, in all fairness they did post in good time and well packaged ,but the quality of the plants was at best very poor steams 4 on 1 and 3 on the other most of which are broken or dead! roots dry and look like they have been out off the ground for a long time , even after 24 hours in water , 1 small growth bub on each rose ,when I rang to discuss ,was told that's how they come THEY ARE BARE ROOT! the roses in the pound shop (bare root ) look better!! will not ever buy from them again , customer service is pants!

I have written to them, as follows: I purchased some bulbs from your Van Meuwen trading brand recently. Since then, I have been plagued by unwanted emails from newsletter@email.vanmeuwen.com. A request to your offending newsletter email to be unsubscribed was ignored. The ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email has been disabled and does not function. You appear to have found a way to bypass both ‘unwanted sender’ and ‘junk’ settings. Please ensure that email address xxxxx is removed from all mailing lists controlled directly or indirectly by your company and its parent, sister and daughter companies. p.s. • the Van Meuwen website contains no information as to the identity of the seller. The Contact details given for Customer Services is that of a contractor who administers orders. • The Terms and Conditions do not specify a contractor, and are accordingly unenforceable. • The invoice/receipt for the goods does not contain a registered office address as required by law.
