“Absolute Con Artists.....
Where do I start, purchased 2 engines, one for a vauxhall Corsa van, the other for a discovery 4.
The vauxhall engine turned up quickly, but wasn't in good condition, had to replace many parts on it, the discovery engine, well that's a story!
They sent one out, after weeks of "the lorry can't get to you" "we only have one mechanic in today" and more BS excuses.
When the engine arrived, it was very obviously fire damaged, meaning the garage would not fit it... nearly a month later, no new engine, no refund and they have only just picked up the previous engine..
Every time you call, you get fobbed off with some BS excuse... my advice, dont use them, if you do, PAY ON CREDIT CARD, keep every email, every call... you'll need it !!!
Thank god I paid on a credit card and can get this money back!”
“Naught a sat nav screen just before Christmas for £40 which apart from being un compatible was in a very sorry state, I emailed many times no reply, even spoke over the phone with my request for a refund, I was told by terry khan, to complain to eBay, not to call the shop bad ebayer should be stopped.”
“AVOID AVOID AVOID THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE LACK OF COMMUNICATION NOT VERY COOPERATIVE AND VERY VERY OBNOXIOUS AVOID THESE NARCISSISTS AT ALL COSTS!!!!”
“DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CHEATS AND THIEVES
We are a very large business. We are currently taking Vaux Spares to court for non-delivery of a £5k engine, that with hindsight stupidly paid them for in advance of delivery by bank transfer in August 22.
Vaux Spares are as many, many posters state are charlatans and must not be trusted.
I notice from other posters that when buying engines in particular there appears to be a common theme. Large remittances are made, only then not receive the engines or if they do, they are damaged. Then the fun starts then. They will then lie and lie and lie and if you don’t give up promise you a refund that never materialise. Just more lies. But now be warned when you think you have seen everything, unbelievably so they are prepared to even lie to a court providing no proof of what they are saying.
Our experience:- We buy an engine, pay for it, promised it will be delivered in 3 days, only for it not to arrive. We telephone Moses only to be told we held back sending it out due to the bank holiday weekend as we have had parts damaged in transit before. Not a good start and in hindsight an immediate red flag. When told this we could not understand why a bank holiday should make any difference as to whether a part gets lost, damaged or otherwise but hey ho he send he would send it out that day. The first lie. Well after many weeks of chasing them by phone and email only to be fobbed off with excuse after excuse, we were told that the engine had fallen off the pallet at the couriers, was damaged and was being returned to them. By this time we believed that there was probably no engine in the first place, but was still prepared to give them the remote benefit of doubt and allow them to redeem themselves. We asked for a refund and kept being given the runaround. After over 30 calls and emails and discovering many negative reviews, we decided to issue a moneyclaim. Unbelievably Vaux-Spares filed a defence and counterclaim alleging we had received the engine and stripped it of ancillary parts. A blatant lie! Of course no proof of delivery to us, return to them, has ever been furnished, so be aware that not only are they prepared to lie to you but it seems they are prepared to lie to the court. The owner of Vaux Spares, Ray, is an argumentative, unsavoury individual that you cannot discuss anything with, as he is only interested in his own self importance -he is just a really horrible man that obviously enjoys this ruthless existence.
My accounts department trusted them and paid upfront by bank transfer on a pro-forma. A VAT invoice was never issued. Had we paid by credit card I would have simply initiated a chargeback and black listed them as a supplier, but you live and learn.
I have been for sometime thinking as to whether or not I should warn others of our experience but it is evident from the posts on here and other sites that Vaux Spares are deceitful and are running some kind of racket to fleece innocent individuals and businesses. After the court case it is my intention to contact the HMRC and Trading Standards, as with a likely judgement in my hand if will be much easier to authenticate our experience and hopefully get them to investigate Vaux.”
“Changed from 2-3/3-5/5-7 business days, 9 business days later still nothing. No follow up emails, courier info on the day it was “out for delivery” will contact bank to get my money back.”
“Brought an engine and was told 3/5 working days for delivery.of course this did not happen..but of course took my money straight away. 4 weeks later still trying to find the engine. after being told its at the couriers and there has been a fluid spilage..but was told it would be delivered fluid free..then a couple of days later, the engine had came off the pallet at the couriers so it was getting sent back to them.more bs..another week goes by..you never get to speak to the same person always someone different fobbing you off with some bs excuse..
No one calls you back ever and when you call them, someone just grunts down the phone. no hello how can I help nothing..really don't no how this is a business...avoid avoid avoid
Shame I live so far away from the office...”
“PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE LIARS. I bought an engine and paid £50 for delivery in 5 business days. Its now 3 weeks and no engine has arrived. I've called every day for 2 weeks and all I get is lies and excuses. Its always someone's else's fault apparently. These clowns take no responsibility for their disgraceful service. Do yourself a favour and DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.”
“Ordered an engine 1/02/2022 for £3900 engine was damaged prior to delivery, told me a refund was sent on the 08/02/2022, waited a week and nothing so called again, was told it had been processed, another week passed and nothing, then spoke to Micheal (accountant), he told me he had inputted the security code incorrectly and would sort, fast forward to today and still nothing, spoke to the "accountant" again who told me the same story, he'd obviously forgot he'd already used this excuse.
Constantly promised call backs and emails which never happen.
It is blatantly obvious they use delaying tactics on your refund.
I have escalated this to Barclaycard fraud as well as Cambridgeshire trading standards
i will happily remove if i am proved wromg”
“I ordered a part from vaux spares and paid them £468, they strung me along for 2 weeks and they did not send the part, I then asked for the refund and they strung me along for another 2 weeks, so I have reported them to the bank, I had several unsuccessful phone calls with them, never use this company!!!!!”
“Provided untested gearbox, promised refund so we sent gearbox back and still NO refund. FSB advised to go through small claims as they have gearbox and dosh.
