About Virgin Experience Days:

Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market.
The summer of 2003 was a real milestone for Virgin Experience. In our continual quest to bring the best experiences and unrivalled service, we joined forces with Acorne Sports. Founded in 1988, Acorne Sports is the original experience company and it’s their stamp of approval that confirms our pedigree and ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. Acorne ’s unrivalled reputation, knowledge and relationship with all of the featured centres made them the perfect partners for Virgin Experience, a company dedicated to making sure customers have the very best time. By teaming up, we are able to challenge the way every experience is provided and offer once-in-a-lifetime gifts backed up by friendly service staff with first-hand knowledge.

Could do with reviewing partners as some hotels are not up to challenge

The food and service was great, but I think Virgin Experience should be checking their vendors are compliant with basic amenities like disabled parking and accessible toilets. These aren’t optional and I would expect to find them when booking with a company like Virgin.

Was greated with a large gin and tonic on arrival. Venue was cosy, friendly and overall the experience was fun. However the bottomless teapots were very very weak. Definitely hardly any gin in them, a fact confirmed when I overheard a female member of staff joke that the barman had been making coloured water!! A comment that ruined our visit.

At the Get Stuck into Steak cookery class at The Jamie Oliver Cookery School they are so afraid of a little smoke that the pans aren't allowed to get hot enough to make a great steak. The chef has them hot for the demo, but you aren't allowed to go higher than 6. You are basically unable to replicate what they chef does, or cook a good steak. The 'Jamie Oliver steak-cooking style' amounts to hitting the meat with a bundle of herbs which even the chef accepted was ridiculous, and mixing the salsa verde on the board: just messy. Just google how to make great steak. You'll get a far better result. On the plus side the chef was nice and the other attendees were too and there's plenty of parking. A glass of wine cost £10.15.

My biggest problem was selecting an "Experience" venue on the website. The choices shown on the list given had locations and addresses but didn't have web links to be able to check them out or compare easily. Booking was also only by phone rather than an on-line facility. Very awkward, frustrating and cumbersome compared to booking rooms on other sites.

We booked a spa day with a 25-minute massage, & after looking forward to some relaxation over the Bank Holiday weekend, we were hugely disappointed! Upon arrival to the spa, we were not shown where any of the facilities were (other than the changing rooms), nor where to get towels from. The steam room itself was not working until we alerted the staff to this; credit to them for resolving this issue but it seemed we had to keep asking for anything to get done! All-in-all, the spa is very average!

Facilities were lovely. First time spa visitor. Was nervous but staff friendly. Hard to get through to book as line always busy with more than 12 in queue.
