About Virgin Experience Days:

Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market.
The summer of 2003 was a real milestone for Virgin Experience. In our continual quest to bring the best experiences and unrivalled service, we joined forces with Acorne Sports. Founded in 1988, Acorne Sports is the original experience company and it’s their stamp of approval that confirms our pedigree and ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. Acorne ’s unrivalled reputation, knowledge and relationship with all of the featured centres made them the perfect partners for Virgin Experience, a company dedicated to making sure customers have the very best time. By teaming up, we are able to challenge the way every experience is provided and offer once-in-a-lifetime gifts backed up by friendly service staff with first-hand knowledge.

Interesting couple of hours that would serve quite well if you want an informal, casual introduction to tasting wines alongside some interesting cheeses, in this case all Italian. We purchased extra cheese as portions included are small. The presenter was good; she did have a strong accent that I found slightly challenging, more so because of the room set up which meant I had my back to her. We would have appreciated an info handout to take away with the names of the cheeses. Average venue.

There were two elements to our Experience i.e. Tea at the Conrad which deserves 5*, but the Visit to Westminster Abbey offered by GOLDEN TOURS is poorly managed and deserves only 2*.

This depends on which experience as they all go to independent booking agencies. Harry Potter studios was incredible but golden yours the booking agency were terrible. They had even lost our tickets when we got there!!!

We recently attended a Gin Lounge experience in Chester, of which I had been looking forward to for a year. There was a bit of hassle when trying to book the event with the event holders and I was struggling to get a response/answer from them for quite some time. Once they did get back to me, they explained that they were ceasing holding this event and therefore dates/venues were limited prior to expiration of my voucher, with most of the remaining events being in Leeds or London (none in the North West). The event holders agreed to extend my voucher to enable us to attend their last event held in Chester of which I was very grateful. On the night of the event, we attended the venue with the aim of grabbing a bite to eat prior to the event starting. The email received from the Gin Lounge prior to the evening, stated "We are very lucky to be working with venues that, as well as providing a beautiful room, offer a great selection of food and drinks for your enjoyment. You're more than welcome to purchase a drink or some food at the bar before or after the event to build up a good base/soak up the gin!". However, on our arrival, we were informed by the bar staff that they didn't serve food as such and could only offer one of two pies to patrons. As I have a dietary requirement, this offering was unsuitable and therefore I then had to wait until after the Gin Lounge event had finished to go and get some food elsewhere at 9.15 pm. At just before 7pm, we were instructed to head upstairs by the bar staff and and we were greeted by the host who was friendly. The room was laid out with small sample plastic glasses (x 6 per person) on shared tables, which was great as it allowed people to mix with other attendees. There seemed to be a lot of confusion to begin with, as around 10+ additional people, who were not on the host's list, began arriving after the 7pm start time. Although not the hosts personal responsibility, this did disrupt the start of the event, as stragglers were turning up even 20 minutes late. This meant that the host restarted his introduction a couple of times, eating into the 2 hour slot. The host was very knowledgeable about the history of gin and was very relaxed/approachable. In total, we all had a small sample of 6 gins, however the vast majority of people seemed to be quite disappointed in the gin. I am a gin lover, but I can honestly say that I didn't enjoy any of the offerings. The same can be said for others seated at my table; one of whom left 4 out of 6 of the samples. I learnt a lot about the history of the gin, however myself and my guest were pretty disappointed overall with the experience and would be hesitant to book a similar event in the future. I have friends who have been to gin events locally and in other cities, who have enjoyed the event as there were nicer gins on offer. I would not recommend to others unfortunately.

Went on Bombay Sapphine experience. Glad I didn't make the journey solely for the day as the experience was only OK.

"Spa Day" felt like a mass-produced (and disappointingly regimented) experience in the basement of a dreary hotel. OK for quality of food included - and surprisingly, the treatments. But the overall experience just didn't feel like the real thing. Sorry!

Place could do with a makeover, bit outdated however both treatments were excellent, in terms of the cost in my opinion this is a bit overpriced based perhaps if the facilities were better that price may somehow be justified.

Enjoyable experience. Food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff attentive and friendly. Views were amazing. However, experience did not cover and drinks, additional side orders nor service charge which was calculated on the total bill, even though the meal had been paid for with the voucher.

It is a great gift to give and receive. I recommend receiver goes on the website to understand and confirm closing times to avoid disappointment and get the value the voucher issuer paid.

I gifted this to a relative. It was fantastic and he loved the experience BUT why did the massage last only 45 minutes instead of the expected 90 minutes? I am disappointed on that and don't understand what happened. The voucher and reviews mentioned 90 minutes for the massage itself.

I bought this for my husband and he did really enjoy driving around and we had a fun day out, but there are a few things to note. Firstly, if you’re driving numerous cars then you’re likely to be waiting around a lot, secondly, if you book through virgin and then car heroes it is likely you’ll have to pay an extra £50-100 and finally the photo that is apparently ‘included’ is just sent to you via email rather than printed for you, and so ultimately you still have to pay for your print; bit of a con on virgins behalf and a shame when I’d already paid £99 for the voucher then an additional £62 for the card and then £40 on the day for the insurance and also to upgrade the professional driving car.
