“I'm probably not even using half Volumio's features, but for what I want it for, it works perfect. I needed a decent but low cost music setup at work. I have some active speakers and a decent DAC and I needed a way to get my Pi to access Tidal and for this it fits the bill.”

“I learned about Volumio while building a Raspberry PI based streamer/dac. And immediatly I liked the whole concept of both the software (Application with minimal Linux) and the control thru a web interface that works well and reliable. I have a collection of Hi-Res music, including DSD. No problem for Volumio, everything works well. Than I build a dedicated PC (with a low TDP processor so I can use an external Lineair power supply) in order to connect it to my DAC thru USB. Because I use Qobuz but also because I think a subscription is in place when you use Volumio on a daily basis, I subscribed to the MyVolumio virtuoso program. All in all Volumio became my favorite software for streaming music.”

“Learning the features of Volumio is interesting. There is a great forum to go back to hear other users experience. However the amount of information is huge and finding the best wording for searching topic is time consuming. My interest is purely based on building a nice webradio, but I am quite confused about learning plugins for GPIO button, GPIO radio button how they interact on selected device like phatbeat, speaker hat, pirateradio. Building userconfig.txt is for me a major headache.”

“Running on a raspberry pie with my own flac files on a usb drive as well as streaming with Spotify. Works great on most of my devices. Cannot get to work from my phone yet. Setup was fairly smooth too.”

“The app doesn't perform well at all on my Minidsp SHD. It takes ages to load although I leave the SHD on all the time. It often freezes of disconnects so I can't change the song (it is connect via Ethernet so unlikely to be wifi issues). And the volume control is awful, only going up in 10% increments using the rocker or 5% on my phone UI is impossible to control well. It's either too loud or too quiet. I love the concept and what they're trying to do but it needs to solve the basic usability tests so as not to frustrate users.”

“The app is not performing very well. Every 2 or 3 minutes the page shows the uploading process (I mean the circle with the dots), but it doesn't affect to play. Another problem of the app is the following: I am listening to a track, I push the pause button, after 5 minutes I push the play button, the track starts and immediatly skip to the next track. Not very happy”

“All other functions apart from bluetooth are excellent and sound quality superb. Bluetooth works but will only play for 2-3 minutes before pausing no matter the source- phone or laptop, browser or spotify. Have cancelled MyVolumio Virtuoso subscription because of this.”
