Tried Volumio when problems with Roon were driving me to look elsewhere. Did the trial thing for a few days, and then dropped back to the free plan. Loading the software onto my quartet of PI4's with their HiFiBerry Dac2Pro hats was not as simple as I might have wished... but I did eventually get it up and running. Unfortunately, I had no luck getting multi-zone simultaneous playback from Tidal, which is the main reason for me to have a computer network audio system. Went back to Roon... switched my problematic Linux based server out for a Mock (Rock on unsupported hardware) solution, and haven't had a problem since. If multi-zone simultaneous playback is _not_ on your list of must haves, this might be the right solution for you. Didn't work for me, though.

Volumio graphic user interface is the best among others. I installed it on x86 platform. Never tried it on Raspberry PI. My experiences on this installation is bad. Volumio was runninhlg smooth right after installation and configuration. But if I shut down the system and boot up later. 7 out of 10 it will freeze. Sometimes it is fine. I installed it on SSD. I do think it's the hardware compatibility problems. Volumio need to look into it and fix this as many of us have some old pc hardware lying idle at home and best to install Volumio to convert these old junk into a modern music streamer.

I have installed volumio on RPI4 with Allo Boss DAC . The audio quality is good . It takes a lot of time to update the library when the hard disk is connected . I am from India and our regional content is mostly on youtube audio & prime music , it would be great if the plug-in for these two are made available.

I tried out myVolumio in order to use Tidal Connect. unfortunately it did not work reliably. and couple of support requests did not address the issue. their suggestions were not pin-point to the issue at hand, thus wasting my time.

As a super star subscriber I would rate Volumio 5 stars if I could USB connect to my Burson Conductor 3X DAC. I am also annoyed that as a super star subscriber I had to pay for the upgraded app not a lot of money I know but it is the principle remembering when I subscribed In the blurb we were all promised Muilty Room capabilities which we are all still waiting for (unless I have missed something with regards to the Muilty Room). With this in mind I do question why I have remained a super star subscriber, were is the value for money???? I would very much appreciate a response to my questions.

Great HMI, using FX audio USB DAC with qobuz, NAS ans web radio as sources. Almost perfect but... Have to kill volumio app ten times per day to have it working when i unlock my screen.

I have no real experience with customer service. I am have been using the community blog to deal with a wireless problem on my raspberry pi to no avail.

Volumio is a good music player but I have one big request from the developer to enable to see the song list as its very hard to manage huge local music collections if I can only see the artists or album alone.

Hi Tidal connect made my life so much easier 😘. But will get a 5* when bugs sorts out.

Overall very good though could be improved. A competent player with nice UI and simple to use. Standout features for me: - Tidal Connect support made it a no brainer... slick - Intuitive navigation and consistent design - Well priced... who wants to pay monthly for Roon on top of Tidal! - unified search results... see stuff in my library alongside Tidal results - iOS friendly, responsive and works well with touch I also started to use the native CD ripper which was initially great. I did try to upgrade the ripping features with NanoSound CD (paid for plugin), but it didn't work. Beware of paid plugins because the development cycles are not always in sync with Volumio. The guys at Nanomesher have been helpful in trying to fix the issues, but I gave up. So, then I went back to the native Volumio ripper which started to bug out ... there was issue with having to insert every CD twice before they can be recognised. Also, plugging in an external USB CD drive to the RPi for long ripping sessions made it very hot. So, now I'm using dBpoweramp with my Mac instead. I have Volumio running on RPi4 which is mostly OK, but really I should use a more powerful device - assuming it would solve some problems. There could be a more favourable review if: 1) it would be more stable and scale across a bigger library better (RPi probably the cause of that) 2) the library updates and indexing could be a little smarter... more automated, e.g. watching for changes - or scheduling - or rules based - or something more than there is today 3) the introduction of some meta data editing in the library would be a good addition... especially if there was a easy way to fix compilation splits and missing album art 4) easy setup for remote access to my device so I can listen to my library in the same nice UI... I can't figure that out at all Despite the issues, I will stick with Volumio as I can see the trajectory is moving in the right direction. It's getting better with each release. Nice job overall team :)

Compared with roon no chance. Keyboard is not german also german as language is allocated. No detailed infos no proposals for similar songs. Amazon not possible, Spotify not really integrated.

The app is not performing very well. Every 2 or 3 minutes the page shows the uploading process (I mean the circle with the dots), but it doesn't affect to play. Another problem of the app is the following: I am listening to a track, I push the pause button, after 5 minutes I push the play button, the track starts and immediatly skip to the next track. Not very happy

All other functions apart from bluetooth are excellent and sound quality superb. Bluetooth works but will only play for 2-3 minutes before pausing no matter the source- phone or laptop, browser or spotify. Have cancelled MyVolumio Virtuoso subscription because of this.

I have a love hate relationship with volumio. It's great how you can add all the different sources, but I would really like to be able to only search in one at the time. If I want to find an album in Tidal, then I would like to search in Tidal and not show results from radio channels first. Same goes for Highresaudio. There is also a lot of bugs when adding or removing from favorites, next song and so on. Version 2.873 feels very much like a beta firmware. And that is certainly not the case. Not sure how happy I really am. There is a great potential and hope my issues will be solved soon.

I really like it except for one important flaw. In Spotify it only shows you the first several playlists, and we have a lot more than are shown. For that reason alone I am looking for other solutions.

Currently running 2 systems, both on a rPi-4 8GB. Jriver MC27 and since a week Volumio. I am only interested in bit-perfect audio. - I love the smooth interface of Volumio, versus the outdated GUI of JRiver. - The integration of Tidal and Qobuz with Volumio, which JRiver won't do. - I don't like the crappy library or better the missing manual adjustment/Maintenance in Volumio. Even though all albums that Volumio couldn't resolve have been re-tagged with MusicBrainz, still it won't recognize them. resulting in missing covers and artist. Even after multiple rescans, no improvement. Jrivers library functions exceeds. - Volumio won't provide any tools to optimize the audio to your personal preferences. Jriver has. - As Volumio runs on a rPi, sometimes the interface shows a prefix "common" on every label. This even shows in the Android app. Only a cache clear on the rPi solves this issue. Which is a bit annoying on a headless system. At this point I'am still using JRiver for 70% vs 30% on Volumio. Mainly because of the library and JRiver sounds a somewhat better (personal, I know)

Hi, I like and enjoy Volumio, but I really wanted it for its tidal integration, that is why if paid for virtuoso. I have to say I’m very disappointed. It’s not good enough for a paid service. The integration needs to be a lot better for me to commit again next year. At the very least tidal connect integration would be good. I’m very much looking forward to future updates as I’m lead to believe you guys are working very hard to make this better. That all said, I’m using Volumio on a Raspberry Pi, the whole process couldn’t have been easier and I like the Spotify integration and other plugs in. Regards, Ali Miller
