Did not succeed to make a connection between my Raspberry and my Synology. Your explanation was not sufficient, or not clear enough. Please explain the creation of a share and connect to the share in smaler steps and provide a scheme svp.

Would pay for the premium if they would make the display tidier , just the album art on one side and info on other its to cluttered and albun arr is too small.

Found that moode fits my needs better (e.g. free Bluetooth audio, more options for individual configuration)

I did not use Volumio anymore because Moode, on my setup, it is work and sound better. And it is free... Probably I will try it again, one day.

Volumio is a great music player with broad support for audio formats, and I’ve been using it for many years now. My setups are mostly Raspberry Pi–based with various DAC boards, and I even repurposed an old Sony ES tuner into a dedicated Volumio player, complete with balanced outputs feeding my amplifier. That flexibility is one of Volumio’s biggest strengths. Recently, I upgraded to the Premium tier to try out the multi-device grouping functionality. While it’s a nice feature and works reasonably well, I don’t feel it fully justifies the additional cost. In my case, I mainly used it to compare audio quality across different Raspberry Pi and DAC combinations. One feature I really miss is native playback support for SACD ISO images. This is how I prefer to archive my SACDs, but currently I have to extract them into individual tracks, effectively doubling the storage space required. When I reorganize folders in my music library, playlists that reference moved tracks need to be repaired. I currently rely on a custom script to detect broken entries and then manually correct the file paths. Playlist management is another weak point. Within Volumio, playlists can only be appended to — there’s no proper way to edit or reorganize them. As a result, I have to modify playlist files manually using a JSON editor. While that’s manageable, enabling Premium introduces playlist synchronization across devices, which tends to interfere with these manual edits and causes inconsistencies. Overall, Volumio is a powerful and flexible music player, especially for DIY and Raspberry Pi–based setups, but more advanced library and playlist management — along with SACD ISO support — would significantly improve the experience, particularly for long-time and power users.

Hi, Used for half a year. Unfortunately, a Lineo5 trafo was humming quite noticeably, which is annoying in a very quiet room. HDMI connection to Denafreeps Pontus 15th over 0,5m cable was losing sync from time to time. USB worked fine. Did not really enjoy the ... uncertainty what is going on when the Volumio was booting. Finally decided to SIDE-GRADE to Eversolo T8. Mainly for an optical SFP port, user friendliness, fantastic app and clear display + room correction. A new owner is enjoying my Volumio now :-).Andy

Versions from 3.77 and up won't run for me, as it says I can access volumio by http://127.0.0.1 or volumio.local, but I can't . The ip address is not on my local network, the other option does not work. I had to go back to a version from 2020 so I could get volumio running fine

Non sono il più adatto per una recensione avendo superato i 70 anni. L' hardware me lo ha assembleto un amico e a volte faccio fatica a connettermi con ipad ma alla fine quasi sempre riesco e mi trovo bene. Grazie

Apple AirPlay is useful. I wish it could support Google Chrome Audio. Also, support for further streaming services would be useful

Love the idea and the product. It works great streaming my local files. It has a lot of issues streaming with Spotify or tidal.

Could be a lot better. Devs seem to use you as a debugger. So it seems very expensive for what you get. Hope it get better in the future.

I wish I could give Volumio and Primo a higher rating but in all honesty I cannot. I signed up for a free 60 minute help session with Davide and indeed he was very helpful and got me back working after almost a year of on and off results. Unfortunately, the next day I was back to first base except that now I had the latest software and that was a huge difference. Now, when I say I am back to base one it’s because every evening I have to follow a really annoying process and I have to initiate the Primo each time I am going to use it. Perhaps other people do this and don’t think of it twice but I am used to just picking up my iPad on my main system and immediately accessing Roon through my Innous streamer and on my second system the same through my Bluesound Node2i. So having to unplug the Primo and then reboot my iPad and sign back into either Tidal or Qobuz each night so that I can listen to headphones through my Burson headphone amp and DAC is in my honest opinion a pain in the … I could have just hardwired my iPad to my Burson DAC via usb and had avoided the expense and the outgoing headaches. Finally, I have found that I have to run the Volumio with a wired connection to my network. My other two streamers run via Wi-Fi. Sound is good when it’s working.

Too expensive and no option to buy the software voor about 200 dollar. I hate to pay gor software each month so i would love to see the option of buying a lifetime licence. App keeps crashing on my phone but once it is streaming, is sounds great. Other than that? It’s looking nice and works nicely
