I have the little Volumio "black box" feat. the "HiFi Edition". It is connected via cinch to my pre-amplifier and enriches my vintage HiFi-system (Spendor speakers etc.) with new streaming capabilities. The Volumio was very easy to install via the app. You may use it on any device that works with a browser as well. The Volumio offers a large variety of streaming possibilities. I myself am happy just listening to Qobuz (at least most of the time) through the Volumio because the sound is really excellent. Good job and keep up your good work!

Volumio has a nice interface, on the web and on a mobile device, sound quality is ok.

I use the Volumio Primo Hifi with an Sbooster, good Power cord an Hifi Tuning Fuse connected with a Reson cable to a tuned Rega Brio and ProAc Studio 100 Speakers. It is an astonishing good sounding little machine. Most of the time I use the iPhone Qobuz app as remote control. Congrats folks, good job, Dirk

Overall very good though could be improved. A competent player with nice UI and simple to use. Standout features for me: - Tidal Connect support made it a no brainer... slick - Intuitive navigation and consistent design - Well priced... who wants to pay monthly for Roon on top of Tidal! - unified search results... see stuff in my library alongside Tidal results - iOS friendly, responsive and works well with touch I also started to use the native CD ripper which was initially great. I did try to upgrade the ripping features with NanoSound CD (paid for plugin), but it didn't work. Beware of paid plugins because the development cycles are not always in sync with Volumio. The guys at Nanomesher have been helpful in trying to fix the issues, but I gave up. So, then I went back to the native Volumio ripper which started to bug out ... there was issue with having to insert every CD twice before they can be recognised. Also, plugging in an external USB CD drive to the RPi for long ripping sessions made it very hot. So, now I'm using dBpoweramp with my Mac instead. I have Volumio running on RPi4 which is mostly OK, but really I should use a more powerful device - assuming it would solve some problems. There could be a more favourable review if: 1) it would be more stable and scale across a bigger library better (RPi probably the cause of that) 2) the library updates and indexing could be a little smarter... more automated, e.g. watching for changes - or scheduling - or rules based - or something more than there is today 3) the introduction of some meta data editing in the library would be a good addition... especially if there was a easy way to fix compilation splits and missing album art 4) easy setup for remote access to my device so I can listen to my library in the same nice UI... I can't figure that out at all Despite the issues, I will stick with Volumio as I can see the trajectory is moving in the right direction. It's getting better with each release. Nice job overall team :)

Good product, good service

I would give 5 stars, but the power unit didn't fit. The pin of the power outlet was too thick for the delivered PSU. I'm still waiting on the response of the service center.

from day one on, everything did work as it‘s engineered for. only with tidal i‘m still dealing to make it work correctly (this is why rated 4 stars only). great job of the programmers and also hardware engineers to develop such a great media player in this tiny little box!

I use the iPad Pro app and it’s terrible. I can’t find all my music it crashes all the time. The volumio cost A lot of money and i can hardly use it. The volumio sounds good but it’s a Total waste of money. The big problem is The app.

I use Volumio on a Raspi 4 with a DAC. Besides using my music database, I also run Tidal Hifi with volumio. Installation was very easy and the quality of the music connected with a good quality sound system is surprisingly good. Even more, I was really surprised on the quality. Also the music player software is quite complete and easy to use. A clear recommendation1

I really love this application, ever since I installed it on my Raspberry Pi 4B, with a HI FI DAC on it. never enjoyed so much before my digital music collection. Very good job! I am waiting for the promised new version, I hope it will be at the same level.

I was thinking about buying a node 2i as an intro streamer but think they might have a newer one coming out so in the mean time a volumio rpi4 streaming tidal connect into my peachtree nova will do fine. I even have plans for a Peachtree style case for me rpi4 “Peachtree Pie”. Its fun to see it evolve so quickly with a community of developers. Even if I buy another streamer I will keep my Rpi version.

very good to use and easy to install.

Really nice product and support for hardware. I like the integration with DLNA/DLNA and Tidal and Qobuz. The extra functionality with myvolumio is underappreciated and I did not entirely understand the ability to securly remotely connect via Https until recently. Myvolumio is a good alternative to Roon for those who do not want to spend that much $$.

It is quite easy to install, has a nice surface and, most important: It sounds phenomenal! The possibility to connect it to a computer-screen and a mouse (or a Trackball) via USB makes it even more responsive, although the browser-surface is good as well. Why only 4 stars then? Because there are some issues though: connected to a quite large library (~620GB) it really takes some time to create the directory (about 1,5 days) and it still doesń´t show all the music on my NAS (the directory ends at "E"...). Further on, some of the menu-functions are neither explained, nor self-explaining....

Initial parameterisation is not difficult, but it is also not linear. The IOS App on my iPhone is easy to use and bug-free, better than via browser. I have doubts whether it reproduces above 44.1 MHz, namely MQA, because when using TIDAL, supposedly so-called Master recordings, it keeps the record as if it were a CD (but that's also good). In summary, it's a good solution to use with a streaming service.
