I've tried a few similar products but Volumio was by far the easiest. No command line config and it even picked up my external NAS.

Five stars because it's so cheap, sounds great and has decent documentation. I bought it for Qobuz support and as a dlna endpoint for a RPI3b/Digione platform. The light weight system runs good on that tiny sys. Runs Qobuz well, a good solution while Qobuz's own app doesn't support upnp/dna. It isn't clear what we get in terms of music info with the upgraded version - more info on that would be better marketing. For local library, I can feed it from Media Center running on Win10 or it will pull from MC's dlna library, but the sorting or searching isn't so great as with MC itself. I guess this is a common limitation, but it would be great if it built a more complete database from the metadata. But then it has to run on a tiny sys, so better not to stress the RPI. I haven't used a NAS/USB direct connected collection, so can't comment on that option. Requires Software mixer be enabled for this I2S hat or else silence. Although there is probably no resampling for 100% volume, I'd rather not have a mixer at all. Help with that, please. Would be nice to have sys monitor app, but again, overhead! All in all so far a great platform for Qobuz/dlna/upnp.

Using a Rpi4 only the headphone out works. USBs all work for video, keyboard, mouse but not for audio. Added a Hifiberry digi pro2 HAT but again no audio out. Yes I removed the headphone jack before trying the other audio outs. I only subscribed thinking it would unblock the audio. Wishful thinking though. Subscription cancelled

After a few tries I managed to get volumio working on my Redmi K40 pro and it plays Tidal. However I don't see my player when I click on the Tidal connect symbol when I play tracks on my Tidal app. Also the volume control in the volumio app does not seem to work. Nonetheless I am very happy with the sound coming through my digione signature (which I could order online and select volumio as the OS for). I am using a cable into the aes/spdif input on my Benchmark DAC 1 USB.

Best I've tried for music streaming from Raspberry Pi. Easy to use, comprehensive functionality. Very stable

Generally good but too many bugs. I play music from NAS but i can only play first track from catalog. I can't choose 2nd, etc. I don't know why. I also use plugin for Spotify but if playlist contains too many songs you can play only positions from beginning of the list (first 50 or something, i don't know exactly how many). Adding username and password to Spotify plugin is a kind of hidden option. I found it by chance.

An excellent solution for music streaming. A bit buggy in places. Changing anything in network settings requires a reboot, adding albums and artists is a bit hit or miss and some of the places where you can do this are odd. But operationally it is excellent, stable, and a real significant addition to my listening.

The library of music is update too slow. Not easy to make a list

Buggy interface that doesn’t show any plugins. It didn’t work and no documentation is available to make it work. Poor value IMO, especially when charging fees compared to competitors who do it better for free…

I needed a DYI streamer option for my HiFi system. Volumio was the best option for what I wanted. Sound quality is top notch, and setup was exceptionally easy. However, reliability is average and may be a pain for a non tech-savy person like myself. I also wish there was greater support for streaming options like tidal connect, the less reliable airplay, and the completely absent google casting (which is probably my biggest gripe as an Android user). It's a great service, but the streaming side is a little lacking.

It's my first project taken with my unused raspberry pi 4. I use a DAC hat and Volumio. I am very please with the installation the interface. Guilty I have not donated, I use the free services, I will contribute since I enjoy this project.

It's free, easy to install and operate. (I install it on my Raspberry Pi on a HiFi HAT)

Works great so far!!!!

I tried out myVolumio in order to use Tidal Connect. unfortunately it did not work reliably. and couple of support requests did not address the issue. their suggestions were not pin-point to the issue at hand, thus wasting my time.

Perfect software to run with home build DIY hi-fi player based on Raspberrie Pi4 + touch screen + ES9038Q2M / OPA1612 HiFi DAC board (can purchase it on aliexpress).

As a super star subscriber I would rate Volumio 5 stars if I could USB connect to my Burson Conductor 3X DAC. I am also annoyed that as a super star subscriber I had to pay for the upgraded app not a lot of money I know but it is the principle remembering when I subscribed In the blurb we were all promised Muilty Room capabilities which we are all still waiting for (unless I have missed something with regards to the Muilty Room). With this in mind I do question why I have remained a super star subscriber, were is the value for money???? I would very much appreciate a response to my questions.

Easy to install and configure. Sounds great. Two issues however with Raspberry Pi4 + Digione Signature : 'shutdown' function works strangely… only the ethernet leds go off, all the other leds stay on and the Volumio wheel is turning indefinitely. Sorting possibilities of music files are limited : no possibility to sort by 'album' inside a 'genre'.

Highly recommended. Great product, Volumio + raspberry Pi + Digione = perfect combination, all sounds are great. What about youtube plugin?

Works well so far. Tested Spotify and qobuz on it as a network streamer. Runs on x86 thats a nice thing. Really easy to use, setup and install. I think this offers great accessibility for a wider range of people! Super fast and lightweight System. The only thing I am missing is gui scaling. On 4k the Scaling is way to small. Have a nice one!

Excellent! Easy set-up (compared to Moodeaudio). Just lacks support for a graphic equaliser. My room is less than perfect acoustically and I could do with a little sound shaping.
