The glass getting sooted up has nothing to do with the glass. It can be several different issues. Wood that is not dry enough. Air leakage. Improper installation, allowing air leakage. The type of stove (older inefficient stoves). A lazy vent draft. on and on. You may want to check into these things to see if you can correct the issue.

“The glass fit perfect and works like a dream. But, and this is on me.....if you read this and are ordering glass for your stove door, order the gasket also. I was able to re-use my old ones, but since you would have the glass out, spend the extra few dollars and get a new one.”

“Easy to use web site for replacing wood burning stove glass. We have a 1991 Waterford stove, and easily found the glass specifically for that model. Our stove work better than ever with the correct factory glass size. We been replacing the glass in the past 25 years with a smaller size glass custom cut. A few days ago it was minus 22 degrees outside and the glass came in 4 days right before the extreme cold temperature. This company is efficient and knowledgeable.”
