“glass already crack after 3rd use. I replaced rope packing on glass and door using your glue. Glas cleanre does not work and the glass is smoke covered after first use. WHy have glass if it is black. Ths never happended with the applichian orginal glass”

Sorry this happened Joe, but sounds like an installation issue. Did you watch the installed video? The symptom you are describing sounds like it was installed either too tightly or the gasket was installed incorrectly.

Are you sure you ordered the correct glass? Several of those Appalachian door glasses are similar in size but not exactly and slightly different arched patterns. Could also be the lack of the required gasket, i see that you did not order one?

Ryan, Sorry this happened. That is a symptom of the glass not being installed correctly. Usually from over tightening the bracket screws. We cannot guarantee glass against breakage, there is no way for us to control the installation process. We do offer a one time replacement at half price if you are interested in taking advantage of this offer. We have instructions on the website in the information area.

“I'm very disappointed, as of today the glass has cracked across the middle and I installed the glass with a new gasket and lightly tighten the screws but after a couple weeks running the stove the glass is now cracked”

Charles, I just looked into your order. Looks like you ordered 1/8 thick glass. Which is unusual for a pc that big. Standard thickness is 3/16" thick. It is quite a bit stronger than the 1/8 (which is typically used in light fixatures) My guess is your ordered a glass that was too thin for the application. We do offer a one time 1/2 price replacement if you wish. but i would upgrade to the thicker glass. you can call us if you wish to go over this - Mike 217-223-0999

Valerie, Looks like from your order you purchased tempered glass. Tempered glass should not be used in a woodstove - it generates too much heat for that type of glass. If i was for a fireplace then it could be the unit is getting too hot. If you would like to call i can guild you through it. Mike 217-223-0999

“Horizontal and vertical measurements correct but curved sides are too big and and had to mount the glass at an angle to make it fit omitting the use of one of the clips. The smaler size glass would have been too small. Not happy!”

“I was charged for the glass tape gasket and the cement for the 3/4" gasket. Neither of these items arrived. Very frustrating when I don't receive what I ordered and paid for.”

Ron, are you sure you should be using tempered glass and not ceramic glass? Looks like you ordered Tempered glass. Tempered glass can only handle up to about 450-500 degrees Ceramic glass goes up to about 1300. Let me know and we can get you the correct glass at a discount. Mike

“I ordered from you in the past. The last piece of glass was too large and eventually cracked. The most recent piece of glass was 1/4 smaller side to side and almost. 3/8 shorter top to bottom. All I can say is ????”

“Took a ridiculously long time to process the order. Glass came scratched and contaminated with something. Glass turned completely black with the first fire. Had to scrub the residue off. The rope gasket that I bought with it was very thin and cheap. Probably keep this as a spare and order a replacement from a more reputable company”

Tim, Sorry for your disappointment. my guess is that you ordered tempered glass but really needed ceramic glass. Tempered glass - like it shows on our site - before you placed the order (in Red) takes 10-14 days to process. It also can only withstand up to about 450 degrees F. after that - yes you will have some issues as well as the glass eventually breaking.

You ordered custom size pieces of glass that were 5 1/2" x 9 1/2". If we somehow did not cut the glass to the correct dimensions, then please call us so that we can send the correct size glass.

Correct, for custom sized tempered glass we cannot accept returns. This is because once tempered glass is made, it cannot be recut. Please see the product description and our terms & conditions before ordering a custom size piece of glass. However we understand mistakes are made so we do offer a courtesy one time half off replacement.
