A company who have no idea of customer service. After waiting for five days, the book I ordered hadn't even been processed ready for despatch. This is a company with no phone number or email address to contact, just some stupid AI bot. The company absolutely didn't care one iota about a dissatisfied customer. Do yourselves a favour - stick to Amazon for buying books, that's what I'll be doing from now on.

Used Wob many times and generally good service. This time however the wrong book was sent. That's where it all goes horribly wrong. Customer service, which is actually an automated response bot said a replacement was sent. Never arrived. Back to bot who said out of stock, choose another. This too has allegedly been sent but I'm not holding my breath.

I ordered a hardback book and was sent a paperback. When I complained I was told this was OK as they reserved the right to substitute different editions to the ordered one.

I ordered various Arthur Ransome books with their traditional dust sheet covers as shown on their website. What I actually received were these books printed by other publishers also shown on their website which I certainly wouldn’t have ordered. When I complained, I was told that that the ISBN number conformed to my request. I will definitely not use this website again.

You can easily be scammed on this site. I ordered what appeared to be a set of 4 books and was only sent 1. Their response was ‘pictures are for illustrative purposes only’- so basically they can just send what they like. AVOID.

packaging, front was damaged on arrival. Had to return it - sent it back Dec 18th, they received it Dec 20th. Realised in Jan that they'd not bothered to send my refund. Had to get in touch with them to do so - 3 times I asked for a refund, 3 times they assured me they'd sent it, and 3 times my refund never appeared. Had to ask eBay to step in & sort it out. I don't like being lied to - will never order from them again.

Be careful of this bunch. They will give you a refund, but it will not be the full price! Luckily, I caught it by reviewing my credit-card statement.

Not first time I have sent a sealed box of books, only to be told that most had not arrived. They were all in the same box. So, only paid for 4 books, instead of 14. Had trouble before and swore I wouldn’t deal with them again. Then changed from Ziffit to World of Books so thought I would try them again. Even gave their details to a friend. Now embarrassed and very angry as had difficulty in releasing some of the books as I cherished them so much. You have to achieve a certain weight or value for free collection, so how could I have sent only 4 books out of 14. Ridiculous.

I ordered 5 books, paid £132, received no books, no refund, it's been almost 2 months, sent probably 30-40 emails, it's going on in circles, automated, polite responses, but never addressing the issue. Always asking for more info..... I'm reading the reviews here and every single one except one or two is NEGATIVE! How can this fake business acquired by Livingbridge for profit e-commerce company, hide behind the past, honest world of bookstore? Obviously this is a theft on a grand scale, they had revenue of over £100 million? By scamming people? Something must be done!

Bought four books which were stated to be in 'very good condition'. Was disappointed when they arrived as they felt grubby, some with bent pages and one was actually a library book. Would not buy from them again.

Take note of all the recent bad reviews and go elsewhere. I ordered a book stated to be in ‘very good’ condition, but on arrival (2 weeks for delivery in the uk!) it was, if I’m being kind, ‘readable’ stains on pages, broken spine etc. Intended as a gift so not suitable. Bought the book from Waterstones as birthday imminent. Requested refund. And am on a carousel which clearly is intended to make you give up. I’ve contacted my bank now and requested chargeback as the goods were faulty. Avoid.

Simply terrible. I’ve ordered a book and a few days after asked how long it would take for it to arrive. They reassured me it was shipped already and should arrive within 15 working days. After 15 working days I emailed asking if they could check where’s the book and guess what? They replied me after another 5 days that they ran out of stock and the book wasn’t even ever shipped! So much time wasted when I needed it for school a month ago.

I don't even want to give this 1 star but I had to click on it to be able to write a complaint. I was buying something on ebay on Sunday evening and after paying I checked my account to make sure it had gone through and discovered a book from WoB which had been sitting in my basket for weeks and I had forgotten about, was included in the purchase, along with an item from a third seller which I had also forgotten about. I IMMEDIATELY clicked cancel payment immediately but WoB say it was already shipped and so too late to cancel. But the other item I accidentally ordered was cancelled immediately. On top of all that WoB have made it impossible to contact their customer services. I tried ringing customer services and get message that because coronavirus restrictions they have temporarily closed their phone lines!

Order a signed John Cleese Fawlty Towers book, received am unsigned book. After a lot of time spent being sent in ever decreasing circles from blind staff who clearly can't read and wouldn't buy books from this useless company anyway, I was told a replacement would be sent out..Today I received the replacement, a Free Guy DVD???? . Absolutely unbelievable. If they use AI it must be the thickest AI in history todate. If they use humans they clearly are the thickest in history..How they messed this up I don't know.

I had been using WOB for years, no more I had been using WOB for years, but recently their quality has dropped - and by a lot! They often send incorrect items or orders with missing items - and take no responsibility for their errors. Customer service agents are deliberately unhelpful without ever bein rude, and talk you in circles rather than ever helping. They even went so far as to claim that they were under no requirement to write the correct info on a book (the one I ordered has an incorrect ISBN, description and title). I was then asked to return the item via international postage, which literally cost more than the refund! So basically, no book, and less money than I started out with, a totally outrageous result! Be careful, especially when ordering Used items, as they take little to no responsibility for their mistakes.

Received 2 books. Neither one in condition stated. One paperback was supposed to be a hardcover. WOB told me to mail back to England, on my own dime, for a refund. Not worth the cost.

24 hour after I placed order my account said I had NEVER placed an order but the money was taken from my acct within hours of purchase. Its now been 20 days and all I have is auto generated emails with different signatures telling me here is the tracking number they found my order- every thing says 5-7 business days until you order then they email you with 7-14 working days . My tracking FAKE number said on May 27 label created and picked up by shipping partner --- on way to USPS HOWEVER its now been 20 business days still nothing has changed on the tracking side still shows May 27th on way to USPS. They keep telling me in emails to wait . I have read MANY people with same issue ORDER is NOT FOUND in 24 hours Money is OUT of YOUR Bank and ITEM never ships! one individual did get her item 102 days later ...YUP 102 days later another said 115 days later and the item was very used not in Very Good New Condition as when she ordered. GODO REVIEWS ARE PAID employees or the actual owners of WOB DO NOT BELIEVE those GOOD reviews Look at the BAD reviews they all are the same WE are telling the TRUTH

Ordered a 'very good' condition hardback - they sent a very tatty paperback. WOB's response was "All our listings state that the item picture is for illustrative purposes only, actual binding, cover or edition may vary." So, it doesn't matter what you order, and pay for, WOB can send you any old rubbish they feel like. And they expect me to pay to return the tatty book I didn't order, and definitely don't want!

On April 3rd 2024 I ordered four books from WOB. I noticed on the website that if you order four books the fourth one was free. I emailed them to inquire about their policy regarding this. After waiting for a significant amount of time they finally responded only to say to give them the order number. Well, I not only gave them the order number but listed the books and the price of each book. The upshot is that they never responded, I'm still waiting. I think that the offer was a come-on, a lure an enticement. I may be naive and ingenuous but they aren't they knew exactly what they were doing. This company was bought by an equity firm that's only purpose and priority is to make money not to insure the satisfaction of its customers. They are disingenuous. I contacted my bank and intend to dispute the $38.15. I will probably lose so my only recourse is to unsubscribe. I got ripped off, scammed. Caveat Emptor. I didn't get any receipt from them since they obviously never shipped the books. So no proof.
