My sister recommended World of Books, I'm glad she did! It's excellent, recycling, less land fill, environmentally friendly. The condition of the book is displayed and brief description of story line. Super fast delivery. Well done!

I sent my books in April and received confirmation all were accepted and payment was on the way. There is still no payment three weeks later, and it's difficult to get in touch with a human at World of Books.

A truly terrible experience, still unresolved. I ordered four books and four completely different books that I did not order were delivered. I wrote to customer support who requested the serial numbers of the books I had received. When I provided these, they said that the numbers did not match my order - of course they didn’t, I was sent the wrong books. Then they sent the same automated message to provide the serial numbers again. I am stuck in the same loop with no real humans engaging or reading my emails. Their phone number has no option to speak to someone. I have had no response to my last email for several days, and still not even a mention of a refund for the books that I paid for. I recommend avoiding this company.

While I am actually glad to be rid of all the books I sold to them. So, they place a price on books at less than 1/3 the retail price when you scan them into your account. But then, send an email saying they rejected half the books and cut the price on most of the others they decided to keep. My first shipment was supposed to get me about $150 USD, but they are sending less than $70 USD--they rejected most of the books and one that was about half of the original offer. My second shipment, with a PRISTINE, brand-new law book I paid over $500 USD for, and they offered me about $60 USD for, was rejected due to extreme damage--it was not damaged in the least--and they are sending a check for less than $1 USD! But, hey, whatever money I do get will be donated to our local animal shelter, so that is a bonus. WOB paid the shipping for all the books, and they get to figure out what to do with the books they accepted and then rejected. Super bonus, I have a clean shelf. Would I sell to them again? No.

I am appalled by their inefficiency and failure to send a book I have paid for. I brought 5 they sent 4. For days they claimed it had been delivered and repeatedly quoted a tracking number for a parcel delivered in Suffolk (I live in Belfast !) They then sent the correct tracking number and claimed they book had been delivered. I received 4 books, as noted above, but not the missing one. Because they used the same tracking number for 4 different parcels (Royal Mail should not be allowing this) I cant prove the 5th book was never received. I also had a book they refunded me for because they said they didn't have it stock. Its on Ebay for £15 more than the price I brought it for. How do you sell a book you don't have in stock ? Total cowboys AVOID !!

They use the highly inefficent Royal Mail to deliver books. My delivery was returned to them because of insufficient address, but there was no way to contact them to check whaty address they used. The chat facility is wholly inadequate and there is no phone number on their website (always a bad sign). When you use AI to get the phone number you are unable to speak to anyone or leave a message. All told a very unsatisfactory experience.

Ordered a book described as very good condition. Received a book that must have been in a flood: cover boards, pages, dust cover warped and water stained. Poor condition.

Only 3 of the 5 Early Readers I paid for arrived. Of the 4 books I received one was not an Early Reader. Over a period of a week, 5 Customer "Heroes" (complete misnomer) replied asking for same information repeatedly and suggesting conflicting solutions. Finally, as requested, a Manager became involved and offered 1 replacement - not possible to authorise 2! so I will still have one less book than I ordered!

I recently placed an order and realized immediately that my phone had autofilled an old address, completely my mistake. I contacted customer service right away, but was told the address could not be corrected. What’s frustrating is that your website specifically instructs customers to contact support to change an order address, yet this service is apparently not actually available. That’s misleading and creates unnecessary issues for customers trying to fix a simple error quickly. I understand policies exist, but this experience was disappointing and not what I expected from your customer service. I won't buy from this retailer again!

⭐☆☆☆☆ – Very poor customer service and communication I had a very disappointing experience with World of Books. My order arrived with a book missing, so I contacted them to resolve the issue. I first tried reaching out by email but never received any reply. Since there was no response, I contacted them through Instagram. The replies I received there were confusing and unprofessional. At one point I was even told to “pass the item to a local charity shop or recycle it,” which made no sense because the problem was that a book was missing from my order. After raising this again, they later clarified that the item had apparently been lost in transit and that they would issue a replacement. However, they also stated that they do not send email confirmations for replacement orders and that a tracking number will only be generated once the replacement has been dispatched. This information was only provided after I had to repeatedly question the situation. On top of that, the web chat on their website is completely useless. It leads you in circles and provides no real help, just dead ends. If you are unlucky enough to have an issue with your order like I did, be prepared for a very frustrating experience trying to get a proper response. Overall, the lack of response by email, the confusing communication on social media, and the ineffective web chat made this a very frustrating experience. Unfortunately, because of this, I would not use this company again and would not recommend their customer service.

Ordered 4 books for my daughter 3/4 was meant to be "very good" 1/4 was "Like new" The "like new" book was covered in teeth marks, rips, stains and damaged pages. 1/4 of the "very good" book was ripped, stained and bent pages. They clearly do not check the books and seems to be luck of the draw if it is damaged or not. The condition summary means nothing. Customer service is awful, i asked for a return due to me being unhappy with the books and wanted the whole order returned. "You have to pay postage" and lots of copy and pasted messages. AVOID!!!!!

Slow / very late deliveries, no updates on shipping due to third party suppliers and quite frankly rude customer service. Back to Amazon / Waterstones for me. WOB has gone downhill past few years!

Very disappointing experience. The books I received were not the versions shown in the product pictures. The listing displayed newer editions, but what arrived was a much older version, clearly different from what was advertised. And one book was older that it even didn't match the version advertised. This is misleading and deceptive. I contacted customer service to explain that the item did not match the listing, yet they refused to refund, despite the mismatch being entirely on their side.

I have used WOB for a long time. But an order placed on 16 December has not been picked/dispatched. It is now 22 December, and the so called live chat on the website is simply a very basic AI which is evidently not programmed for this eventuality. This was a Xmas present ordered in good time. I'm frustrated and getting angry.

BUYER BEWARE! If I could give them a zero, I would. I ordered and paid for a book; however, I had to spend 4hrs. over a number of days ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE BOOK WAS OUT OF STOCK. I was told that my order was cancelled and that I would receive a refund. It is IMPOSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN BEING and their "bot based" website cannot comprehend very much. I had to hunt on the web for some way to contact them. Their bot claimed that I would hear from them within 48 hrs. which was unacceptable because I had a project due and needed the book to complete it. Their bot also claimed that "live chat" was availble during their business hours--IT WAS NOT!

Stay clear! Selling library books removed from sale. Overcharged me and won't refund. Asked after last review on Trustpilot to email Wob directly, yes Wob, and it changed nothing and I never got a response. But it looked good on Trustpilot that they'd responded. Companies a joke...I have pictures to prove it. Never had a refund yet. Rip off merchants.
