“I wanted an apple tree for my allotment, but didn't know much about them. I found this company very informative which made choosing easy. The tree came well packaged and was easy to plant. It's thriving now and looks great. The customer care is excellent. They've even been in touch to see if I need any more advice which is excellent service.”

“I had a very positive experience researching and ordering apple trees from Chris Bowers. I wanted something a little different, old variety apple trees; one a cooker, the other an eater. They needed to be complimentary for pollination. Great advice on options. I didn't expect CB to have a call centre or to respond to my enquiry immediately, but they got back after a couple of days with reassuring advice which is fine. Young trees safely arrived last autumn and planted with good amount of well rotted alpaca manure. The following summer, both trees are doing well with good growth and plenty of foliage for young trees. Important to water well, particularly young trees trying to establish themselves. If they are what they purport to be, I will be very happy with first fruit in a couple of years time. Do remember to water your young trees regularly”

“Red Falstaff Apple Tree M27 I bought a Red Falstaff apple tree on M27 rootstock a few months ago. It had to be M27 as we are training it into a step-over tree. It’s doing really well so far, extremely healthy with lots of new green leaves. I mixed in lots of manure when I planted it, and I water it well every week or so. I would definitely buy from this company again. They sell a wide variety of fruit trees on a variety of different rootstocks, which is exactly what I want.”

“Super impressed with my recent experience with Chris Bower Ordered a walnut & apricot and they arrived the next morning. Excellent, friendly communication by email My trees are prime specimens and I was impressed by the superior packaging. V well protected by straw and strong paper/card envelopes. Well grown trees with a good root system”

“Our order for 4 fruit trees came a little later than the due date very well package up The trees were planted as advised on the info pages But 3 of 4 did not grow Tried so phone several times and only got a recorded message left a message and no one called back We did eventually get to speak to a very nice lady who sorted out a full refund for us many thanks if you want something doing ask a female (come on you males at Chris Bowers)”

“Ordered 4 difrent Blackberries , all 4 were the same and STILL waiting for a respose ! 3 Raspberries and not 1 true to what was ordered ! 6 friut trees 5 years ago and still waiting for friut ! I am 70 years old and trusted these crooks , they have robbed me of those years which I can never get back ! I've no dought that there will be a housing estate going up soon at the expence of us trusting mugs !!”

“I've odered from this place several times, and unfortunately the most recent will be the last. The products are perfectly good, but whoever runs the customer service really enjoys taking their bad days out on customers. I tried to confirm what root stock some trees I had ordered were on, and they lied to me, so that I couldn't cancel the order before they arrived. When the wrong trees arrived, I waited 2 days for the rudest reply I think I've ever had direct from a company. Nothing about my emails was rude, but whoever replied must be having a very bad day, because they were essentially taunting me and calling me simple. Obviously I won't be buying from here again! I really wish I'd read reviews before buying, because clearly someone at this company needs to have customer service responsibilities taken away.”

“Phoned and placed my order as I needed it sent to a different location and despite being very clear they sent it to the wrong address. Didn’t answer multiple emails or numerous calls to address the issue. I wish I had read others reviews prior to ordering”

“My order was sent to the wrong country. Chris Bowers refused to accept fault, refused to send replacements and refused to refund. Had to get my money back through visa in the end. I will never buy from them again”

“I was a little worried seeing all the negative tales on this and trustpilot. My experience...Ordered 3 trees at start of September and was told delivery towards end of the month. DHL notified me of the delivery as per the email from Chris Bowers 25th. 3 trees packaged well in paper and straw so full marks for sustainability. They look healthy with some foliage and ranging levels of grow on them. My experience has been very positive and it was one of the few nurseries with the 3 items including an Asian pear I wanted all in stock at the same time with delivery in September. The price was good and delivery cost very reasonable for 3 trees. As long as they are the stated varieties, I'll be a very satisfied customer and would use again.”

“I purchased two plum trees (different varieties) and in the year after planting one produced a few flowers and thenthe leaves turned brown. I emailed Bowers for advice and three months later I’m still waiting. I wish that I had read these reviews before ordering. This company does not deserve to be in business. And as for five star reviews, I can’t see how these can be genuine.”

“An expert in their field who were… An expert in their field who were slightly overwhelmed in Covid times which is entirely understandable so our blueberries and gooseberries arrived later than we had anticipated but then all the gardens have arrived later this year with lack of sunshine and loads of rain. Delivery packaging was ultimately prompt professional and fully protective of the plants showing significant care and expertise. We await fruit next year”

“The Czar Plum tree on pixie stock that I bought in 2018 fruited for the first time this year and unfortunately the fruit was bright yellow and the tree has grown to over 12 feet in height! I had to trace back through my bank statements to find the original order date. To my complete surprise and great satisfaction the tree was replaced straight away with no quibbling. This is exceptional customer service. So thank you very much.”

“Apple tree on M26 rootstock, I don't think so. God alone knows what this twig is. Barely any roots at all and just an apple twig rooted(barely) in some compost, no graft at all. I've wasted enough time on these scammers, where are the trading standards officers? Thank the Lord I didn't spend too much with them.”
