“Ordered a Red Falstaff apple tree from Chris Bowers last November. My tree was delivered on time, well packaged and planted as soon as I received it. It arrived well and healthy. Service from the team was excellent throughout, from ordering to post delivery. Thank you Gemma! The guides on the CB website were a fantastic help too. Gave me everything I needed to give my new tree a good start. Six months on and it is growing well and even formed it's first "fruitlet". A pleasant surprise in its first season. Really do recommend this company for good stock, guides and customer service. Thank you. Bob”

“My mum often said "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all" so I've never left a one star review. I'm making an exception here because I think potential customers should beware. I ordered a golden gage online, paid and waited about 10 days. When I enquired about a delivery, I got a snarky reply that I should know it takes up to 28 days. So I sent the website screenshot claiming shipping within 5 to 7 days. They didn't reply at all. A few days later it turned up. I'm not sure if they are punishing me for believing their website claims but to call it a tree is laughable really. The website states they are 120cm to 150cm high. Mine is about 40cm. There's no point pursuing this with their rude customer service. Obviously I'll never use them again and I'd advise others to avoid them.”

“Ordered a bare root Cheal's weeping cherry blossom in March. After nearly 2 weeks with no communication or updates and no response on telephone line, we tried to cancel order via email (absolutely no response or acknowledgement received). When order finally arrived what was delivered was a dead, dried out twig, stuffed in a box with dry straw and no viable roots. We soaked it for an hour and planted up with good quality compost. After nearly 2 months we can confirm that the 'tree' is still dead. No leafing out and no new roots formed. Have tried repeatedly to contact Chris Bowers and Sons via email and telephone with no response at all - total silence, and a telephone number that automatically goes to voicemail. This company treats customers with total disdain, contempt and scorn; they obviously have no conscience nor any regard for the ordinary people that buy from them in good faith. There are other professional businesses out there who take customer care seriously, so spend your hard-earned money elsewhere and save yourself stress and disappointment.”

“Dead tree. The company have ignored 2 emails and one phone call. Photos sent to them to demonstrate my dead tree but radio silence. £32 lost. Don't trust this firm.”

“I ordered a 'Misty' Blueberry to plant with the ashes of my dog Misty. It arrived in very good time, perfectly wrapped in straw for protection and and thick recyclable bag. Good size and great quality. They even followed up with a personal email to ask if I needed any advice about planting etc. and could contact them any time for help. Brilliant service thanks!!”

“The bare rooted apple tree I ordered was delivered a couple of days late because of Gale Goretti but because it was so well packed the roots had not dried out and the straw in the packing had obviously worked to protect it. The tree itself self is a lovely specimen and I am more than happy with my purchase and if requiring more fruit trees/bushes Bowers will be my first port of call. Only minor issue is if this was my first bare root tree I would have appreciated some planting/care instructions but luckily I have bought numerous ones before.”

“I’ve ordered twice from Chris Bowers and the plants have arrived well packed. I’m especially pleased with the shape of the Asian Pear tree that was sent. Beautifully pruned and symmetrical. I’ve also had to contact their customer support and they were very helpful and responsive. As they send bare root plants, one of my gooseberries didn’t break its dormancy. Customer support was very helpful; sent photos and they sent a replacement. If I ever order another fruit bush or tree, definitely will order from this company. I have ordered from others and the quality was not there. If you are looking for plants for your allotment, would recommend this site”
