My mum often said "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all" so I've never left a one star review. I'm making an exception here because I think potential customers should beware. I ordered a golden gage online, paid and waited about 10 days. When I enquired about a delivery, I got a snarky reply that I should know it takes up to 28 days. So I sent the website screenshot claiming shipping within 5 to 7 days. They didn't reply at all. A few days later it turned up. I'm not sure if they are punishing me for believing their website claims but to call it a tree is laughable really. The website states they are 120cm to 150cm high. Mine is about 40cm. There's no point pursuing this with their rude customer service. Obviously I'll never use them again and I'd advise others to avoid them.

Ordered a bare root Cheal's weeping cherry blossom in March. After nearly 2 weeks with no communication or updates and no response on telephone line, we tried to cancel order via email (absolutely no response or acknowledgement received). When order finally arrived what was delivered was a dead, dried out twig, stuffed in a box with dry straw and no viable roots. We soaked it for an hour and planted up with good quality compost. After nearly 2 months we can confirm that the 'tree' is still dead. No leafing out and no new roots formed. Have tried repeatedly to contact Chris Bowers and Sons via email and telephone with no response at all - total silence, and a telephone number that automatically goes to voicemail. This company treats customers with total disdain, contempt and scorn; they obviously have no conscience nor any regard for the ordinary people that buy from them in good faith. There are other professional businesses out there who take customer care seriously, so spend your hard-earned money elsewhere and save yourself stress and disappointment.

Dead tree. The company have ignored 2 emails and one phone call. Photos sent to them to demonstrate my dead tree but radio silence. £32 lost. Don't trust this firm.

Took down the last of the trees I purchased I honestly feel I was only sent rootstocks and not the fruit trees I ordered Maybe they felt that shipping them to Ireland they had licence to send any old thing as there would be no comeback The belle de louvain and the blue de belgique turned out to be green damson like fruit exactly like you see on rootstocks The nashi pear tree had no graft mark on the shaft, the dennistons was simply a 4 foot stick that produced nothing, not even blossoms I would suggest to any person who has written or about to write a positive review to hold fire until you see what grows from your tree Only saving grace was my subsequent orders were cancelled because of Covid or I would have ended up with an orchard of stove fuel Avoid Avoid AVOID

The journey that commenced as a hopeful investment opportunity took a sharp turn towards devastation, resulting in a loss of $97,100. Discovering that I had fallen victim to a scam left me grappling with a mix of emotions - embarrassment, anger, and a sense of uncertainty regarding my next course of action. Amidst my quest for a remedy, I stumbled upon RANGEPRO.ORG, a company that initially gave me pause. Their professionalism, however, shone through brightly. Right from the start, their team treated me respectfully, articulated the recovery process in a transparent manner, and steered clear of making any grandiose pledges. Their consistent communication and efforts to keep me informed throughout the process were a reassuring presence. To my pleasant surprise, their endeavors bore fruit by successfully recovering a sizable portion of the funds I had previously deemed lost forever.

My bare rooted plant was dead. Sent a polite message explaining. Got a very rude reply indicating that it was my fault. I asked for a refund but was ignored. Very rude and will never use again

Ordered 4 trees based on the reviews for this company. The ones ordered should have been 120-150cm, 12-18 months old, however, one arrived that was not even 90cm including the root ball. Another one had hardly any root ball on it. No way were these 12-18 months old!! Requested a partial refund which I was told had been completed, 11 days ago. Still has not been received and follow up email ignored. Poor customer service, poor products. Buy from a garden centre where you can actually see what you are getting.

I bought quite a few fruit trees from them. Although some of the seem to be doing well, both of the plum trees are dead. I sent them an email about it I had no response from them at all. Looking at other reviews, all good as long as you don’t need their after sales care. If you do, you are on your own

Tree sold with rootball the size of grapefruit , all roots were deliberately cut very very short presumably to make it easier to package for delivery. Tree had no chance. Contacted for advise (not asking for compensation as it would be difficult to prove anyway) got rudeness and accusations. Aggressive and extremely defence character. Do not order from these cowboys if you are expecting even limited after sales service

They have a brilliant selection of fruit, but, as many other reviews have indicated, if things go wrong or you are not happy then don't expect a response, or if you get one don't expect it to be polite or sympathetic. Their "gold standard guarantee" appears to just be PR (maybe because the big corporate sellers offer this). I sent a politely worded request enquiring (not demanding) about a refund because some strawberries appeared to differ drastically from their description (in terms of their fruiting period), and I'll just quote the first few words of the opening sentence of their reply (only obtained after chasing them for a response) to give you a flavour of what you can expect: "That's an extraordinarily long winded e-mail...." They didn't even answer whether I could/could not get a refund. They just slated my reasoning and were really condescending. Consider carefully whether you want to deal with this if you have an issue! Conversley, RW Walpole have been great in my experience, huge selection and when something went wrong they were quick to reply and sorted it out.

I made an order last week for lots of different varieties of strawberry plants and other soft fruit, as we are just starting out with a new veg garden. I received a confusing email a few days later saying that my order had been partially refunded, but simply copying my original order with no indication of what was being refunded… I gave them a call and it turns out that NONE of the strawberries are being delivered, even though there was nothing to say that stock was limited. Customer service didn’t say that they were out of stock, but the lady did say that they don’t like fulfilling orders with small quantities of lots of different varieties…..what??? Very disappointed. It took ages to choose all the varieties, what a waste of time! Hoping that the rest of the order will arrive with a problem.

I will never buy from this company again. The tree I purchased online in december had failed to develop by May so I sent a polite email requesting replacement or refund under their 'Gold Standard Guarantee', which promises "If it fails to thrive or live up to your expectations we will replace or refund it". We had an exchange of emails in which they were terse and evasive and finally stopped replying. I now see that there are a number of other people who have left similar negative reviews.

Worst experience from a plant supplier. Packages arrived crushed, plants crushed and snapped, long wait for email replies. Poor attitude. Will never use again. Would have liked to issue 0 stars. False promises for delivery date.

Awful company. Customer always right? Gone are those days with this company. I’ve written to them over two failed fruit trees ordered earlier this year and sending customer reference number, and just receive a pedantic and rude reply. My husband is a head gardener on a large Estate in Hampshire with many years of gardening experience. He is disgusted with their produce and the so called customer service. Please shop elsewhere. I wish I had. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Extremely rude customer service. A polite enquiry concerning a missing item has led to a whole series of rude and tense exchanges. Willing to hide behind terse email exchanges but seem unable to be contactable over the phone. I would not recommend trading with this company. Ever.
