I recently purchased a Taylor 724ce Koa. I dealt with Paul the manager. He unboxed in from me at my request. Paul took the time explaining the specs picked and strummed for me so I could the hear the sound from 20 feet away. I have purchased guitars from this location in the past and the experience is genuine and honest. Paul and his TEAM ...I'm giving them a 5 star rating and they deserve it. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!l L&M Kingston Ontario

I ordered a $2000 guitar. They had one at another store and it took a week for them to get it to the store in London. So far everything is perfect. I told them when I would be coming in to pick it up. I get to the store and the guitar is there and they open up the box....... It's beautiful..... I plug the guitar in and that's when everything went to hell. Keep in mind this is not a $200 Chinese Fender product. The guitar out the door is over $2000. The frets had not been sanded. They had not been cut off at the side of the fret board properly. They had not been rounded off at the edges. They had not been polished. The neck was bowed.... We're not talking neck relief here.... It was bowed. The trust rod adjuster did not come with the guitar. So adjusting it was not gonna happen. This guitar has a Floyd rose locking system on it. I unlocked the nut and started the process of tuning the guitar and I noticed there were issues with 2 of the tuners. After I locked the nut down and went to the fine tuners at the bridge it was almost impossible to tune them up or down. It was as if they were rusted solid. The bridge was obviously installed by somebody that did not know what they were doing. This is not a floating bridge. this is the evh bridge. Not very hard to set up..... I didn't even attempt to put it at the right position. It would stay in tune for about 30 seconds without touching the tremolo arm. After 15 minutes I took the guitar up to the front and I laid it down on the table and told the lady that there's absolutely no way I was purchasing this instrument in this kind of condition. I told her everything that was wrong with it and the response shocked me. She said and I quote..... Well you are entitled to a setup if you buy the guitar. I was expecting something along the lines of oh my God we didn't look at this thing before we called you? Or perhaps there's absolutely no way this should be leaving the factory in this kind of condition..... Or perhaps..... This is kind of embarrassing and I apologize that we didn't even open up the box to make sure it was the guitar you had ordered before we called you and told you it was ready to go. No ..... the response I got was You are entitled to a setup if you purchase it. Should have ordered it from sweetwater.

I am a beginner guitar player and had been looking for a used guitar. They had one in the Langford BC store. I live in Alberta. So I called the store and spoke to Matt about the condition of the guitar. He went and had a look at the guitar and was very clear on its condition. I agreed to purchase it. Matt helped me through the web page purchase, performance warranty etc. The website buying program was thorough with shipping costs and possible delivery time. Within a few minutes I received an invoice and pretty quickly I received a tracking number. I have now received my guitar and it is exactly as promised. Matt and Long & McQuade made this purchase extremely easy and trouble free.

I purchased a Martin Road Series guitar from the Ottawa store in 2022. I never got the set up completed. I was new to guitar and did not understand the importance of it. I purchased a nylon string Taylor in February 2023, and asked the sales person if the Martin set up service would still be honored. He said yes. Mind you I live 3 hours away in the US. When I tried to schedule the service, the person I spoke to was not helpful and seemed to say I could not get the service. I said never mind I will find a new provider. Not happy with this treatment

Over all I've had good experiences with L&M but in 2018 I bought a used bass there with a guarantee on it. I had to drive for 3 hours to get there & dropped it off to be serviced where they told me they had to keep it for a couple weeks - just to change the 1/4" socket on the bass that was compromised. I came back 3 times, each time leaving it to be serviced, & each time it was not serviced. They NEVER did replace the jack & I never did shop there again. I posted an online review of the specific store that did it & the manager posted that I should contact them to fix it. I made several calls & left messages for the guy but he never called me back. As far as I'm concerned L&M does not have real service department or they would have fixed it one of the 3 times I took it back to them OR at the very least the manager I spoke to should have returned my calls - especially because he requested they call. It's a shame that Canada's number 1 distributor of musical instruments is worse at service than any of the American company's I deal with. Even though I travel to Canada frequently I no longer shop at L&M -- & because there are no other national chains in Canada - I don't shop for any musical gear up there anymore. I was willing to pay the extra fees out of a sense of obligation to support the region I'm visiting. However if I don't get the support - especially if it's a small item that only the owner would care about - I pay attention to how they handle the small things because that's always how they handle the big things. Also if the verified reviewer who's posting here tries to lie about me posting a fake review - I can prove what happened to me. Verified reviewers should lose their verification when they make baseless assertions that they have not proof of. The fact is that we post negative reviews because it's the only recourse we have when the big corporations decide to deceive us & rip us off of the warranty they voluntarily provide. They just don't honor it.

I’m the Principal Trombone of the NAC Orchestra in Ottawa. I recently had an issue with damage done to a trombone that I needed in order to complete a recording with the orchestra. I got in touch with a Master Repair Technician, John Chambers at the Kanata, ON location. He took my call immediately and, after explaining my situation, he invited me to drop off my instrument as soon as I could that day. Within 3 hours he had not only fixed the major dent on the slide but completely overhauled my trombone. I was very impressed with how he dealt with my problem in such a timely and professional manner. He was an excellent listener, very personable and extremely skilled. I want to commend the entire staff of the Kanata location. My shopping experience has always been a positive one. The staff are courteous, patient and helpful! I had also rented, then bought an electric guitar and amp for my son. That too was a very pleasant experience. I feel very fortunate to have such a service in my city. Thank you, John Chambers for saving the day for me! Thank you, Long and McQuade.

I arrived at the new store on Guelph line and the sale rep asked me if I needed help. I asked a few questions and selected strings and guitar polish. When I asked to take a look around the new store I was told. "Yes, but it's not a library". I'm 48 years old and I was talked down to like I was a punk kid. I purchased my items but I won't be back. How many thousands of dollars I've spent at Long & McQuade? For what? To be insulted.

Long and Mcquade has always delivered awesome service. Ignore the negative comment, it's totally and obviously fabricated. Why would they sell you a new instrument thats broken? Makes no sense. Anyways every purchase I have made has been easy and the product was amazing, and I have bought quite a few instruments and different accessories from them.

Warning: if you choose the Rocktober 0% financing and (as per usual at L&M) the item is defective, they WILL charge you a stiff restocking fee. They will also insist that you knew this even though they did not mention it at all during your purchase. Deceptive, dishonest and despicable. I deleted my account. Going to Cosmo, Steve's, Sweetwater etc for all future purchases.
