Paid a premium for early delivery, no pedal sensor contained within or cable ties. Had to file the axle down to fit, no mention of that in the promotional video where it only takes 7 mins to fit. I expected better of this company and have been left with a sense of disappointment.

Customer service is pretty good, replies to emails often the same day if not 1-2 days. Price was over-charged by £50 compared to original order, and I had to contact them and send proof of the original order email to get the excess refunded (I'd have thought they should've had records of that if I had!). I ordered the kit last September, delivery was estimated March, then March-April, it finally arrived mid May, disappointed on lead time. It's a shame there wasn't a black wheel option (only silver) as my bike has black wheels, so now it looks odd with one black and one silver wheel. The battery is easy to fit but isn't that compact, as it sits inside the frame triangle, it takes too much space up that I can't fit a water bottle in the cage any more. Performance is good, it's fairly gradual power delivery once you start pedalling, not jerky at all, and with the basic handlebar controller it's easy to operate. My wife's very pleased with the power it gives her to get up hills, although is less keen on all the extra wiring and cable ties everywhere. We bought this to put on a light hybrid bike, to replace a much heavier e-bike, and it does the job very well. Due to the ligher overall weight, it's much easier to lift onto bike racks too now, so overall pretty happy with it.

Converting my daily use cycle into electric was great, the process was straight forward and the results good, one disappointment was range. But that was maybe expected with the size of battery. There should be a range of interchangeable batteries to suit each buyer's requirements and funds available.

Converted two bikes - mostly pleased with the results. A couple of hardware problems which were handled fairly efficiently by team support via email. They seemed eager to understand and solve any problem you may have. Battery development is on going which means new designs appear to be introduced quite regularly. I'm guessing when if do decide to upgrade the various connections will still be in place. As far as safety is concerned this is appears to be one of the best reliable batteries. We converted 4 years ago as we wanted a light-weight e-bike option. Used fairly regularly and still going strong.

I'm not mechanically minded so found assembly instructions confusing. So far it works well and makes cycling uphill not a workout!. My niggle, like many others are the continually changing and conflicting readings on battery pack and LED display.

Having ridden less than a hundred miles the motor has become defective but I'm out of warranty I'll feel that this must be very poor quality and would cost 375 pounds to replace.

Provides the confidence to tackle any cycling adventures! The Swytch ‘experience’ speaks for itself - my only minor criticism is that you cannot trade-in the original 1st generation battery pack for the new lightweight ‘pocket’ type 2nd generation one!

Good on the whole, but we’ve found that battery can come out of mounting and fall off the bike going over bumps. Needs to be strapped on with something. Luckily the battery still works

This is just what I was looking for. It's my first e-bike and I love it. Puts a real smile on my face when the power kicks in and I find I'm using my bike LOADS more. It was a fairly simple installation apart from having to trim down the plastic pedal sensor to fit. I went for the air max battery but I live in a hilly city so it doesn't get anywhere near the maximum mileage.. perhaps 18-20k on level one assist. Support has been good and the packaging and feel of the product is excellent. My only gripe is the remaining power indicators on the battery and the control panel. They're never the same and both appear wildly inaccurate. My battery stopped providing power at the bottom of a hill yesterday even though it had 3 LEDs (40-60%) remaining. Overall a great way to convert an existing bike.

Really excellent product. Only downside is that the seperate speed / battery indicator on the bandlebars is often different to what shows on the actual battery and can be confusing.

The wheel rim got damaged. Swytch do not supply the rim only. They wiil supply a complete new wheel or hub at a much higher cost than a rim. Did not even supply details of the rim so i could buy one. Left with system that doesn't work. I work as a bike mechanic so I will be able to repair it in time. But I will not be recommending swytch to any of my customers who enquire electric converstions. I do recommended the Bafang system.

Installation is definitely a faff. I ordered the OLED display which will fit only 22mm tubes max. Like most bikes my handlebars are much thicker and the gear/brake shifter assembly leaves no room at the narrow end. This is a design failing so check yours before ordering one. I will have to fabricate some kind of workaround. The installation pictures all involve old school bikes with quill stems, thin handlebars and simple steel frames which I'm sure is quite unlike the type most buyers will have. As I have a carbon front fork I also ordered the universal torque arm which apart from meaningless instructions is too thick to allow enough axle thread for the end nut and so will be returned. So definitely more than 2 hours fitting time for me.

Gen 2 bracket broke, had to repair it and now battery pack has died. No support for older products from Swytch, would not buy any other product from yourself due to the lack of support and poor engineering.

The installation went ok, but the drive cuts out intermittently. I raised support claims on the Swytch website several times, but no-one got back to me. It sort of works some of the time, but it is clunky. I have given up on this now, and will get a proper electric bike instead.

When Swytch launched I bought a kit for my bike. It has never worked, even though I have sent videos and have received replacement parts. Total waste of money - really disappointed.

I love my Swytch bike. However, I noticed the battery didn't hold the charge as long as advertised. It will show two bars on the powerpack, but the OLED says the battery is empty and, subsequently, cuts out.

Would have been 5 stars but for the lack of after sales service. Product is quality but it was advertised as fitting any bike! Not so! I have a folding Apollo bike and the only place the pick-up censor will fit is on the frame behind the pedal shaft but the adjoing cable wasn't long enough to accommodate it. I therefore had to make a bracket adapted from a drain pipe to mount the censor forward of the pedals shaft. It works but it is in a precarious position and subject to damage from knocks or grounding. My gripe really is with the after sales support. Switch didn't offer any help whatsoever except to say they would put it to their technicians and get back to me! They never did!!! A longer cable would have solved the problem but that suggestion fell on deaf ears!! Shame really because it is a quality product and works very well, amazing power. I just urge you make sure it will fit your bike before committing, after all it's not a cheap purchase.

I was very pleased to receive my Swytch kit, but think a 6 month wait is a bit on the long side. Installation was relatively simple, and initially the kit worked well. After about 6 months I started to notice that the power drops out intermittently, which is extremely annoying. Also the battery which is the biggest available does not last more than 25km before needing to be re-charged. I convinced my wife to buy one as well, and had the same problem, the power cuts in and out, and of course you notice it most when it is needed the most! For my kit, I received support by email, which was prompt and friendly, but has only improved the problem slightly, not cured.

OK but battery does not last nearly as long as advertised. Battery cover v difficult to re-zip. Toggle switch too easy to switch off when plugging in to recharge

I did enjoy my Swytch Bike because I was able to keep my everyday bike with a little extra kick. But my experience wasn’t great whist I partly stopped cycling shortly after buying, some of that was down to the hassle of the kit and because I changed job. It took me hours to install as quite fiddly and certain parts have to be highly aligned, which became harder as my bike (Specalized) had a thick drop tube that impacted the positioning of the pedal sensor (there may be a different sensor available now). This made for a ride where if the awkward alignment was out the motor would pulse with power and off putting, combined with the juddering brakes which was due to the Swytch (heavy battery), I didn’t often use it. There were also a few equipment failures that were very well handled by customer service, who I can’t fault even when I had ignored the problem for sometime and was embarrassed approaching them. I know the battery is smaller and lighter now and I reckon if your bike is suitable then it’s a great buy. I certainly don’t regret it, as it was a great introduction to electric bikes and made me realise I was happy to buy an out and out electric bike but maybe I should have done that first.
