I sent in a bunch of items to sell. The items stated that I would get a certain amount, But ended up getting a lot lower amount than what was expected, even on designer items. Plus, the most expensive item that I had to sell, never showed up on the sales site and disappeared, so someone there stole the dress. It was a vintage dress that could have brought in a lot of money for me. I do not recommend this site for selling at all.

Worst shopping experience ever. Purchased and paid for 5 items. A week and a half later, I received an email that 4 of the items were not available. Biggest waste of time, not to mention the offer had expired by then. Beyond disappointed.

Total scam. I sent them a full bag of 20 items of brand name clothes in very good condition. They posted just 2 and said all the rest is not good. It was Theory, Armani, North Face, etc. I could have sold it on eBay. Stay away from this company.

Do not sell through ThredUp. I paid $35 to ship 20 items, and they only accepted 10—even though many were name brands. Those 10 items sold for just $21, which was applied toward a $30 service fee. Now, I’ll likely be billed for the remaining $9. I could have easily made more selling on eBay, but I got swept up in their advertising.

I haven’t used ThredUp up in a while so I figured I’d give it another try with some of my inventory that wasn’t moving. NEVER AGAIN. Minimal returns number one. Number two, I paid a flat fee to have items returned to me thinking that whatever didn’t sell would be sent back. NOPE. If they don’t take it, they send it back. If your items don’t sell you have to pay $5.99 PER PIECE to have them returned. One would think all of the clothing resides in the same building so why the per piece shipping price? What a SCAM. So at this point, if I wanted ny items back I’d have to pay $120, meanwhile, I made a measly $70 after selling 22 designer/mid pieces of clothing. Wonder what they’ll do with all of it… beyond disappointed and feel totally ripped off.

My biggest surprise with ThredUp is that they are still in business. The way they list the clothing will almost guarantee they won't get sold. Then, when they aren't sold, they charge the seller for shipping their items to them. Someone needs to investigate this company and find out just what they do to "responsibly recycle or repurpose" the unsold items. If they would leave suits as suits instead of breaking them apart and calling the separates, most would sell! I have to take this to the BBB.

VERY UNHAPPY! The items that I received were cheap looking. Nothing like the pictures. Also, returning, even if the fit is wrong, is ridiculously not in the buyers favor. There is a $3.99 restocking fee on each item. Then, if you want a full refund on your credit card, they make you pay $10.99 shipping! I was hoping to opt out of this and ship it myself, which would have been cheaper, but no such option was available. Instead I kept the items and took a store credit. Other than redeeming my credit, I will never spend another dime at this site!

I purchased an item then had my credit card charged then days later thred up canceled my order .. they then re listed the item close to double the price using the same photos and description and sold it to another buyer. yes they sent me a sold message and charged my credit card to refund it days later. GREAT BUSINESS MODEL

Selling on threads up is really bad. Buying items turned out to be great for me. I sent in five bags of nice clothes because I have lost a lot of weight and needed a different size out of five bags of clothes I received zero amount of money on the other side. They had a sale of 90% off and free shipping. I bought three pairs of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans with free shipping and it cost me only $26. I guess if you’re going to sell on threads up, forget it but receive their emails and purchase when they have a sale like that.

I sent brand new shoes with soles that proved they had never been worn. Quality labels, suede, ankle high wedge boots. They claimed they couldn't post any of them on their site! I will be watching all the other selling sites (eBay, Poshmark, etc) to see if they end up being sold there by this group! There is so much wrong with the way this place operates it's impossible to believe people ever use them more than once.

SELLER BEWARE!! I sent clothes with the tags still on them and they rated several pieces as the fabric looking worn! Most of what I sent was 2 and 3 piece suits and the tags were clear that they were a set. They separated the suits into jacket, pant, vest and gave different ratings to each piece! Buyers won't know there is a pair of pants to go with the jackets! Brand new shoes, never worn so perfect clean soles with designer labels and they claimed they weren't up to standards! Makes me think they take what they want for themselves to put in their own closets or to sell on eBay.

I was not satisfied with something and returned it along with a "clean out" bag full of pretty decent clothes. This was sent in ONE big bag. They received the return and issued me a partial refund but they insisted they never received the "clean out" bag. How can they say this with a straight face? Yeah, it's a "clean out" bag, alright. They cleaned me out, and got free clothes in the process. These people are greedy little liars.

DO NOT SEND IN A BAG TO SELL YOUR ITEMS ON THREDUP. IT IS A TOTAL SCAM. I received a bag to send in and sell items. I filled the bag with EXPENSIVE clothes that I had worn once for formal and semi-formal events; for example, a $200 dress from Nordstrom. A month later, I checked, no credit given. I thought maybe I would receive credits as items sold. Months later, nothing. I sent in approximately $500 of items and NEVER RECEIVED A DIME.

They have sent me two extra bags I did not order and I am being charged. I can’t get anyone to call me back. I have sold six items, high end and they say I have a credit of $2.16 because they’re trying to charge me for two extra bags I have sitting here. I have only ordered one bag and put everything in there. Are you kidding me! I feel so ripped off. My friend told me to go with Mercari. She made $300 in two days on just basic things.

I've ordered a few of their funboxes in the past and most (before 2023) were fine. As of late, they have been absolutely disappointing. They are pretty much throwing junk into a box and calling it FUN. I understand the concept and what it is meant to be, but sending overly used (and should have been in the trash) hair accessories, tarnished jewelry (not wearable in my opinion and should have been put in the DIY box), completely tarnished belts (unusable) among other items is just unacceptable. They would have in the past, sent these items in groups to count as one item, now they are in the box counting as a full item. Not to mention the pins with missing stones, ect. I have recently received two of these boxes and never plan on purchasing again. The way I understood it, it was a box for items that didn't sell and needed a new home, not a box of unusable items, through that sh*t in the trash and not scam your loyal customers.

I have been searching for a tank top from one of my favorite brands; Venus. They don’t make it anymore and I searched the internet forever until stumbling on this site. I never heard of it and I was a little nervous. I took a chance and couldn’t be happier. I found the exact tank top in my size, and I also ended up buying more (from the same brand) of dresses I know fit me perfect in other colors. Communication is really good, updates are accurate. And I’ve bought 3 items in less than 2 weeks.. all the clothes are just as they described… excellent condition, new with no tags. No blemishes, no Oder. I will undoubtedly be shopping this site more

Do not sell your clothes on ThredUp! They take SO MUCH money from your commission. For example, a pair of my Zara shorts listed as “like new” condition was a payout of 70 cents. Ridiculous!! Another rare Ralph Lauren button up was listed for $60, sold, and ThredUp paid me $4. I kid you not. Move on, don’t sell with them.

This is the first time I buy from Threadup! I could not believe my eyes! The clothes delivered in a beautiful box and professional packing!I am so excited and tear the wrapping papers. The 1 st box delivered with 3 jackets and 2 dresses and 1 white blue jean! They look like new ones Excellent conditions as described! I am extremely happy with the qualities of the used clothes! The prices are very good! I am waiting for the 2 nd box delivered with 2 more blue jeans, a sweater and a blue jean jacket! Some technical issue I cannot upload my photo! Will definitely buy again with ThreadUp!One suggestion: the company should allow the items that buyers select that added in the cart more time because it takes tremendous time to go throw all items in order to select! We need time to add more items in the cart instead of buy one and pay one! It helps with shipping cost!

From a buyer's standpoint, my experiences have been pretty good. Only choosing items of "Excellent" or "Like New" condition, I have gotten some really great things and a few times have gotten things with defects. In the case of defects, my issues have been resolved quickly in the way of refunds or credits. From a seller's standpoint, my experience has been negative. My most high-end item, a like-new sweater by Free People (which is a brand that they specifically ask for), was not included in my listed items. When I asked customer support about it they said that the sweater was not received. I know for a fact that it was included in the bag. Funny enough, the customer service agent asked me for a link of the item and the first thing that came up when doing a Google search for it was a Poshmark link, for that same exact sweater, in the same color and size, published between the dates of when my bag was received by ThredUp and when my items were listed. Is this just a coincidence? Similarly, when I asked about a like new pair of heels that I included, they said that they were donated because they had a defect or too much use. Fishy as they were in like new condition. Additionally, I had checked the ineligible payout brand list before sending in my items and my brands, most specifically MNG and Knockaround, were not on there. Hmm. I came to find that these items have been listed, but have been marked as being 'ineligible for payout'. This is also curious seeing as how the price points of these items are set higher than several of the prices on my other eligible listed items (supposedly items are considered ineligible for payment because they're at a very low price point) and now interestingly enough, MNG and Knockaround are indeed listed on the ineligible payout list. This seemed to have happened upon receiving my items. I should note that the support agent did offer me $20 for the missing sweater and a refund of the bag fee for the shoes, however, this will still be my first and last time selling, especially higher-end items, with ThredUp. Seeing these kinds of things happen to sellers also turns me off as a buyer.

I do not recommend selling your items with thredUP. They pay very little to nothing when your items sell. You’d be better off finding a local consignment store to sell your items.
