From a buyer's standpoint, my experiences have been pretty good. Only choosing items of "Excellent" or "Like New" condition, I have gotten some really great things and a few times have gotten things with defects. In the case of defects, my issues have been resolved quickly in the way of refunds or credits. From a seller's standpoint, my experience has been negative. My most high-end item, a like-new sweater by Free People (which is a brand that they specifically ask for), was not included in my listed items. When I asked customer support about it they said that the sweater was not received. I know for a fact that it was included in the bag. Funny enough, the customer service agent asked me for a link of the item and the first thing that came up when doing a Google search for it was a Poshmark link, for that same exact sweater, in the same color and size, published between the dates of when my bag was received by ThredUp and when my items were listed. Is this just a coincidence? Similarly, when I asked about a like new pair of heels that I included, they said that they were donated because they had a defect or too much use. Fishy as they were in like new condition. Additionally, I had checked the ineligible payout brand list before sending in my items and my brands, most specifically MNG and Knockaround, were not on there. Hmm. I came to find that these items have been listed, but have been marked as being 'ineligible for payout'. This is also curious seeing as how the price points of these items are set higher than several of the prices on my other eligible listed items (supposedly items are considered ineligible for payment because they're at a very low price point) and now interestingly enough, MNG and Knockaround are indeed listed on the ineligible payout list. This seemed to have happened upon receiving my items. I should note that the support agent did offer me $20 for the missing sweater and a refund of the bag fee for the shoes, however, this will still be my first and last time selling, especially higher-end items, with ThredUp. Seeing these kinds of things happen to sellers also turns me off as a buyer.

If it was possible to send things back I would order again. Probably bought 15 items at least in the past 2 years and haven't worn one. One coat that was54$ was so horrible and filthy I threw it out. Another thing they don't measure items right.

I placed an order and it never arrived. UPS says it will be arriving today and never does. I have been a long time shopperon Threadup but I am really disappointed with their customer service response. I can only contact the virtual assistant and it cannot resolve my problem. It told me to check my shrubs and ask my neighbors if they have the package. It never arrived! Can’t speak with a real live human being to resolve. Really weak. I will be shopping elsewhere.

I’ve bought stuff from Thredup before twice. The first time, my experience was ok. Two of the tops that I bought were described as “Excellent,” but one had missing embellishments and another had a tiny hole. Luckily, the flaws weren’t that noticeable, so I didn’t mind. An item that I bought was also wrongly labeled. I bought it thinking it was from Urban Outfitters, but it actually wasn’t. I didn’t do anything though. I bought again recently, and the experience was terrible. One of the items that I initially purchased turned out to be a fake Brandy Melville. Luckily, I emailed them before my order shipped, so the item was canceled. I also bought a pair of jeans, thinking that the condition was “Excellent” as I filtered my search results, but when I purchased it and refreshed the listing page, the item’s condition was changed to “Very Good.” Then, as if things couldn’t get worse, I also got sweatpants, which were listed as size 0, but when I opened up my package, the sweatpants were huge and plus sized. I immediately emailed them, but the response took forever. Fortunately they said they refunded me and allowed me to keep the item, saving me from returning it. While my issues were handled decently, there’s too many risks when it comes to purchasing on Thredup. Therefore, this will be my last purchase. Stay away from Thredup at all costs.

I’ve been a loyal customer for years and recommend this site to everyone I know. However, my most recent order was for an event coming up and they cancelled my order without letting me know. The lack of communication around this issue makes me not want to buy again since I now feel anything could be cancelled/refunded at anytime for no good reason. I will have to rush and find a dress elsewhere and will not be buying from thredup in the future.

I have had good experiences with Thred Up until they started using VEHO to deliver. Now my packages go missing and I never get them. VEHO customer service is awful. I think this company is mainly scammers. Thred Up customer service takes no responsibility for using this shoddy delivery service and is of no help getting me my package or issuing a refund. I will not be ordering from them again. I will be going back to Poshmark who has legit humans who use USPS to track and deliver your package in a timely manner. Goodbye ThredUp!

I've been using ThredUp for over six years and, despite recent updates to their website, their product listings have gone downhill. Here is my experience: Shopping - Browsing their website used to be difficult but they've since updated their listings and search features so you can better find the things you're looking for. That being said, whoever is doing intake and listing of these items needs to be fired. In the past month I received two pairs of pants labeled as black that ended up being blue and SEVERAL tops labeled as women's that were men's and one even boy's. It's ridiculous that I've ordered items that I cannot wear because they were listed wrong. Credits were issued for these items but for my last complaint I didn't even receive the full amount back in a credit. I won't be using that credit to shop any time soon. I have gotten some items I like on there but prefer now to buy from individual sellers on other platforms so I know I'm getting what I expect. Selling - After sending several quality items and making no money off of them, I no longer send my nice things to ThredUp. I sell my items elsewhere and only send them stuff I wouldn't make any money off of. If they can't sell it then they claim to responsibly recycle them. Besides that, I have apparently reached my limit if clean out bags so I can only send donation bags. Oh well, I guess it makes a donation to a good cause and I get to clean out my closet. TLDR: don't send them your good stuff unless you expect to not make money. Customer Service - Fast and efficient if not a bit "bot-like".

ThredUp would always list most or my clothes incorrectly. i.e. a Marc Jacobs 100% real leather skirt was listed not listed as leather, but imitation leather. I contacted them about it and no change in listing nor price increase was ever made. It was sold and boy - they got a bargain! Then when I would purchase their used clothing, their highest standard rated clothing almost always had several stains! Whomever checks and grades the clothing needs to do their job better. I will not shop on ThredUp again.

Not happy with the quality of the clothing of 4 out of 9 items I purchased. Ebay and Poshmark items are consistently better quality. A pink "sweatshirt" I purchased was a pajama top. Will not purchase from them again.
