I do not recommend selling your items with thredUP. They pay very little to nothing when your items sell. You’d be better off finding a local consignment store to sell your items.

I had a sweater in my cart that was new with tags. You could see the price on the tag was marked down to 4 dollars, but they were charging 20 dollars.

Unfortunately what was to be "items in excellent or good condition" and their moto of only "using acceptable items" turns out to be challenging. My 2nd purchase came with tees and capris that I wouldn't use for rags. Their *return policy with a credit issued only for In store purchase and an expiration date of 2wks' is a massive missive on their site. Lacking proper measurements is another major oversite.

I've had many problems. I ask for new items and I've got four items that were branded as excellent condition with big holes in them or one that had a tear all the way down the arm. Second I waited 2 months and I got a package that was all beat up and it wasn't even my clothes my order and I couldn't contact the company at all. Then one time I got a whole mixed bag of different colors and things that I did not order and then didn't receive the things I did order. I literally spent over $1,000 with this company. And they never answer or respond.

So far I sold 3 bags to Thread up. Never again. Each bag contained approximately 40 items. When they listed my items (took a month for each bag), 98% of them got listed in excellent condition, they were really nice clothes(Ralph Loren, cocktail dresses, brand new shoes, etc). My expected payouts were between $100-200. Expected payout one of the dresses was $30 and when it sold I received $5 because it was on sale. You get 20% of what they tell you is “expected”. Banana Republic top $0.71, Liz Claiborne dress shirt $0.09! Insane. If you sell even one of these things on EBay you would get more money than I got for the entire bag after fees. I received around $15 for each bag of 40+ items. It’s called theft. And they want you to pay $6 each to receive your clothes back. It’s a disgraceful company.

I sold clothing with ThredUp and purchased the premium package - which is expensive - for the soul purpose to get my clothing back. Unfortunately, you will make next to nothing on items you sell, and to top it off, Thred Up offers the option to get your clothing shipped back with the premium package, however what they don’t tell you is that you will be charged for every piece of clothing you want to be shipped back - on top of paying for the premium package! I issued several complaints trying to get some resolution with no human response, only AI answering my emails. I assume Thred Up finally received them because they cleared my account of all my earnings from the sale of my clothing and the history of what sold. So in summary, selling through ThredUp; you will go through allot of effort, you will pay them allot, to literally get nothing in return. I would say that’s theft. I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

I sent in my first two large bags of very good items and they claimed they couldn’t process one and only gave me a $35 credit for a huge bag!! I have since read many other reviews that this happens often. My other bag only a few items posted and have barely gotten any credit from them. Overall a horrible first experience and now I’ve read this company has been reported a lot for this! Do NOT send in your items and expect anything good in return! They also will not return my inquiry about just sending my stuff back. Cannot speak to anyone!

I sent them a cleanout bag with a ton of gently used clothing, Lilly Pulitzer, Nike, some high end stuff. Most of the payouts were under $1, for things that I definitely could have sold for MUCH MUCH more on Mercari or Poshmark. They basically steal your stuff, and pay you back in pennies. Total scam. NEVER AGAIN. Do better, ThredUp. Disgusting.

My first order! Third is my first and last order with this company. A 3rd party delivery driver came to my house in a personal vehicle and sat in my driveway for 20 min on the scheduled date of delivery. He said he could not find my order, which means it's lost! I'm leaving for 4 months and if by some chance it's found and delivered, it will be left out side and I won't know if any of it will fit. Good luck getting any customer service. All they have are Chat bots and there's no way to make contact. They said they would email me, but never asked for my email. What a joke. I'll probably have to file a claim with my credit card co to get my money back. Very poorly run, unreliable co. Don't waste your time and money.

If you're thinking about listing your items here, just don't do it. I sent in a cleanout bag and they sent me an email saying my items couldn't be processed and when I sent an email back asking for more details on why and if they can ship the items back to me they responded saying it's been discarded and that they couldn't provide any details why. There was literally unused, NWT, thousands of dollars worth of clothing in this bag that has just been....."discarded." I'm so shocked.

Threadup sent me a coupon for 50 percent off and free shipping. It said it was good til June 25th. Did not work. Cancelled my order Pretty bad. Also a lot of the clothes are not measured or measured wrong. Better to measure and show us with measurng tape .

ThredUp doesn’t sell your clothes - they basically steal them. The payouts are so low and the fees are so high you end up paying them instead of earning anything. And I’ve sent them a lot of never born/barely worn high quality items from name brands - and this is always the case. Sell anywhere else you can besides ThredUp. It use to be better. Never selling on here again.

Ordered a few times before 2 years ago. No issues. Now I will never order from this site again. THIS time, I waited 13 days for the order to arrive. Both items seemed oversized for the size I ordered. The jeans are not the size they should be. It's like they are a Plus. I just looked and saw a 3.99 restocking fee. 8 bucks plus shipping back is extraordinarily harsh. It's my own fault that i didn't see this fee. I will just sell n my own I suppose or mend and deal with it. Shady. NEVER ordering again.

They have awful customer service. I have had issues with them not sending items when I have ordered. I have them steal high end items from my clean out bags. And when you try to resolve an issue their customer support is horrible.

Thredup used to be good. As time has gone on, their consignment model has gotten worse and worse. They don't allow enough time for items to sell, charge for items to be returned, have tiers of selling that are really very expensive and removed their rewards program of which I was a top tier member. Their item descriptions are awful and honestly, it's not worth it to sell with them anymore, you get $1-5 per item and that includes stuff like nwt JCrew and so on. The higher end stuff is not described well and doesnt sell. I cannot recommend, which is a shame because I used to use them a lot and spend thousands with them.

I ordered for the first time through ThredUp. I got (what appears to be) legitimate tracking info from UPS. My package was supposed to arrive on Tuesday, it didn’t show up, then tracking info said Wednesday, didn’t show up, now says Thursday. I am not confident I am going to receive my merchandise at all. You can’t talk to a real human or even get response to an email by a human. The only thing you have to contact is a chat bot. After I started having issues, I looked up reviews and saw NOTHING positive about ThredUp. That is totally on me. I have learned my lesson. This will be the last time I use ThredUp.

I have only ordered 3 times from Thred Up and frankly their practices are shady. They claim that you get a discount, they claim you one total before check out then all of it changes, items that were "50%" off,all of a sudden arent, free shipping is a lie even if you put in their code! They have way too much bait and switch.I am waiting for my orders.I have a deep doubt I will get them and /or be satisfied. No more Thred Up for me.

I ordered and paid for four pairs of jeans. They sent me a note saying they're shipping three pairs of jeans, as one pair of jeans is now unavailable, leading me to believe they sold the jeans to someone else. After I questioned this practice, they said they put in a ticket to resolve this issue. I haven't received anything besides silence. Selling clothes that are unavailable is unethical.
