Sometimes the store is jam packed and she's working alone, but she still receives us with a smile and takes the time to answer our questions in ways that have greatly helped us as we navigate sailboat ownership. Best of all, when we were seeking a Garmin, she pointed out one that was on sale, and helped us understand how it works. Just can't say enough good about her!! If every person who works at West Marine were as knowledgeable about what is in the store and how it's used, and as cheerful and helpful as Melinda is, it would definitely be the Go To place for mariners!”

“Bad Manager in Raleigh NC Store. I ordered registration letters/numbers for my boat and i was to pick up at the store. I received an email from West Marine that said "item(s) are ready for pickup". i drove 20 minutes to the store only to find out it wasn't there. I asked the manager to send them to my house when they arrived due to it being their fault. He refused and offered no apology. I cancelled my order.”

“Order battery boxes from them and probably did not do thoroughly research and the boxes did not fit my application. The return cost was more than the price of boxs. They did not email a return label and made the return cost up to me. I am now stuck with the order. Not happy with there return policy.”

“My son gave me a new Clarion radio for my birthday. When I hooked it up it did not power up. I took it to West Marine. After a huge hassle with "customer service" I was told I had to contact the manufacture of the radio. The radio was less than 90 days old and West Marine did nothing to solve the issue.”

“I went here to purchase Mildew Stain Remover for my boat. I could only find the "West Marine". brand and it was $19.00! I thought this seemed ridiculously expensive so when I got home I looked on line. The mildew stain removers ranged from $3.00 to $12.00. Many of the very cheap ones had excellent review scores. Every time I go into West Marine, I feel like every thing there is twice as expensive as anywhere else.”
