BBC Maestro gives access to top-of-the-range participants giving suggestions and advice honed over decades of commercial success. If only I didn't keep thinking of an old and rattling Austin Maestro car whenever I log in to BBC Maestro. It's a cream colour and has rust spots everywhere. It leaks when it rains.

If you've ever dreamt of writing a book then this is all your dreams come true. The novelists on the courses are world class and they not only impart their vast knowledge but they know exactly how to motivate you to get writing. Couldn't be happier with BBC Maestro. Buy it now you won't regret it and you'll be on the bookshelves soon.

I retired from work at the end of 2019. Now I have time to pursue numerous interests. It is a great time to be alive, because there are so many excellent resources for learning. So I do not have to "dig it out of the ground" each time I find a new endeavor. I was intrigued by the idea of making sourdough bread and in exploring this, decided to get a real bread baking foundation. The course by Mr. Berneti fills that bill completely. So much information! Plus, there really is a lot to be said for a visual demonstration to accompany text. No matter how many times I read about "stretch slap and fold" it was made clearer on the video.

I am learning more about Poetry with Carol Ann Duffy. She is so inspiring. She makes every day come alive. She inspires you. Taking the BBC Maestro class has given me a new joy in my life. This is what life is about. To think about the positive. To celebrate life. To give you the excuse to do what you have always wanted to do.

Relatively cheap and very well presented. I have only viewed one program but there are several others that interest me.

I had hoped for more detailed skills training about how to use studio lights for portrait photography to create different effects. I felt that this was rather glossed over. I feel that the course was directed towards young people who have almost no knowledge of how the camera works, or towards others who are hoping to go professional. And so I think it fell between two stools. As an older amateur photographer who has used film, DSLR and now mirrorless and phone cameras for over 40 years (including darkroom and modern digital editing skills) there was not a lot for me to learn on the technical side. However, for me, the crucial learning point was the importance of connecting with your subject/model, if you hope to achieve a meaningful image that means something to the model, yourself as the photographer, and potentially to a wider audience. I found the interviews with other professional photographers very interesting and I appreciate having gained an insight into Rankin's collaborative way of working. This was heart-warming, as there are rather too many photographers who are exploitative in how they achieve their images.

With an ever increasing number of in-depth courses from well-known experts, you can't really go wrong. The downlodable course notes are very handy to refer back to, as well.

"Despite being a designer with over 20 years of experience in the field of design and a university professor, I bought Paula Scher's course to regain my inspiration and the creative spirit of design, which tends to wear out over the years. Listening to Paula made me look back and regain the excitement of creating new things."

To have the opportunity to listen and watch an actor of Brian Cox's stature is FANTASTIC and through BBC Maestro - you can. This particular course is comprehensive, instructive, informative and above all VERY watchable. BBC Maestro courses cover a range of subject matters and is a truly wonderful way of getting expert guidance.

I've been really enjoying the course, but have got to lesson #9 and cannot access it. You seem to want me to purchase it again. Lesson 9 is where Tim Spector really starts to explain what to do, so I've only heard the background so far

Hi Mary, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues accessing a lesson! I'd like to get this fixed for you. So that I can help, can you let me know what device you're watching the course on and the browser you are using? Best, Rebecca

The content quality is highly polished and very useful. Lessons are clear with a clear pensum. So far, the authors I've watched talked clearly and at a good pace.

My subscription to BBC Maestro is one I cherish and value. I do have several subscriptions that I occasionally watch/listen to, but BBC is the one I spend the most time with. This is my 3rd year learning from them. The instructors are knowledgeable, engaging, and leaders in their field. My latest favorite is Mark Ronson on music production, and I'm just starting graphic design by Paula Scher. Browse BBC's topics and instructors, and I know you'll find the exact class you need.

Not as informative as I had hoped and the annual membership doesn’t have that many courses to choose from - although the price wasn’t too bad with a discount applied. Had I paid full price I would have been disappointed

I was quite disappointed as I thought I would get more information on technique, the hows, and instruction rather than just a history of graphic design. While looking at the works and the process was interesting, I feel like I could have found some of this on YouTube for free.
