I had a highly disappointing experience with my car breakdown cover service recently. When my car broke down, I called for assistance, expecting the reliable help I was promised when I purchased the policy. However, I was informed that they wouldn't assist me because I was supposedly too close to a nearby garage. This refusal to help in my time of need was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. The whole point of having breakdown cover is to receive support no matter where you are stranded, and this arbitrary decision left me feeling stranded and let down. I expected a lot more from a service that prides itself on providing peace of mind and reliability. I would not recommend this breakdown cover to anyone looking for dependable roadside assistance.

We broke down on 11 May 2024 and called the breakdown number. Our first call was at 6pm. We got through after waiting in the queue for 10 minutes, then the agent said he was just going to check something, then put us on hold again, then cut us off at 6:30 without getting back to us. We called again at 6:30 and waited 15 minutes for an agent to respond. The agent took our call-out payment of £30, and advised us that it may take about 2 hours. At 8:30 we called again because nobody had come. Again we waited for an unacceptable amount of time before the call was finally answered. The agent said they would find out what was happening and put us on hold again. We waited on hold for 25 minutes and it became clear that once again, nobody was going to get back to us. At 9:30 we called again, and somebody responded after 12 minutes . We explained the situation and the agent said she would put us on hold while she looked into it. We refused to be put on hold again and asked her to tell us what the situation was while we were still on the line. She got back to us very quickly, telling us that nobody was coming to assist us because they were unable to find a breakdown service anywhere in our area, and our request for breakdown assistance had been cancelled Nobody had contacted us to tell us that our breakdown request had been cancelled, we were just kept waiting. Also, I find it very hard to believe that a breakdown service can’t find breakdown assistance anywhere. So she told us to make our own way home and to call us the next day, instead, when we could begin the process again. By now it was late at night. We had to get a taxi home which cost us £50. Of course we are not going to get another £50 taxi to repeat the process the next day! We have had to make arrangement for recovery of the car ourselves. I am shocked that this company receives people’s money to create ‘breakdown policies’ which do not exist. When I took out the Full UK policy I was promised Roadside assistance, Local Recovery, National Recovery, Home Start and Onward Travel option. I got nothing. In summary, these are the reasons for our dissatisfaction   1. Excessive waiting time for call to be answered. 2. Being put on hold without anyone getting back to us. 3. Cancelling our recovery request but not informing us. 4. Inability to find a recovery service for us. 5. Shocking customer service with no concern for our safety or well being at being left stranded

Horrible experience. Charge £120 for same fault, but actually it's not the same fault.

Hope I don't get any invoices but called them this morning. They took details and said they would ring back with a time for pick up. Rang back to say 60 minutes and breakdown turned up on time. Absolutely super service, couldn't fault them and I am very critical

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Paid for cover then never received any details of my policy or documents despite numerous emails to them. They don’t answer the phone either. Warning bells. As far as I was concerned, I had NO cover with them and after waiting 2 months to hear from them I took out a policy with a proper breakdown company - the RAC. I asked my bank to arrange a Charge Back to return my money. It took about 6 weeks but I got my money back in full. 2Gether would also have had to pay the bank investigation fees so I hope that they learned a lesson.

Car got stuck in a soft verge, the back bumper of the car was literally 2ft off the tarmac but the driven front wheels were spinning through soft grass into the underlying soil. I tried to put boot mats under tyres and drive it out but it was just getting bogged deeper so I stopped before I beached it completely. Would be a very simple job to pull it out, just needed another vehicle and a towing strop, so rang 2Gether insurance and yes my policy was in place and valid, covered me and the car - but then the guy quoted me sub-section xyz123 of the policy which said it didn't include cover for the vehicle "immersed in mud, sand, water or snow". They could send someone out, but it would be £120 which I could pay over the phone now. I said no and started to dig the car out, someone passing saw me struggling and stopped, he had a canoe on the roof of his car and using the tie-down from that as a tow strop from my towing eye to his towbar the car popped-out immediately. If I'd crashed-off the road down a hillside and needed a specialist recovery vehicle with a winch to pull me out, fair enough but not covering this ? The policy was far cheaper than AA or RAC indeed, but if they won't actually help you without charging £120 then it's a waste of money - and you could be stuck without help in middle of nowhere in the night.

Car refused to start on 11/4/24 so called them out. Took ages to turn up but did get me started. "Mechanic" said it was faulty battery so got new battery today (12/4/24) and guess what? After a short run the car refused to start so once again called them out. They REFUSED despite me telling them I am disabled and my 88yo mother was with me. They told me it was same fault as yesterday and they do not do "repeat" call outs. I told them to send out their mechanic to check if it was the same fault and AGAIN they refused to come out.The agent even told me the personnel who attend call-outs are NOT qualified mechanics. It now looks like my starter motor is at fault so why did the "MECHANIC" not wheck this? Is it because they are NOT QUALIFIED MECHANICS" Their agents words, not mine. So if you want to throw away your hard earned cash with these cowboys, go right ahead. I'm lucky my contract with these incompetents runs out at end of month avoiding exhorbitant cancellation fees. AVOID AVOID AVOID This is my brother in laws experience with them last 48 hours

Please do not take your car breakdown cover from this company… An object on a motorway lane damaged my car tyre and to six other cars. The highway guy had to shut off the motorway Called 2Gether they told me I wasn’t covered as it was an accident ? The highway gentleman even spoke to the customer service advisor as he couldn’t believe that I wasn’t covered. They showed no concerns for my safety what’s so ever… Please read the policy documents before buying AVOID 2Gether breakdown cover

Reported an alternate fault in 2/24, did not use & had repaired in driveway. Recovery was not used , but the fault was reported. A battery flat on the 4/24, Would not recover, due to an electrical fault being reported in February. Even though the recovery wasn’t used . They will only cover one fault per year. Even if not used but reported.

Ridiculous Company They shouldn’t be allowed to operate as a company as it is a great scam . Last year I got broken down in Scotland , I live in south wales , they said they won’t be able to help me as they don’t have anyone in the area , so o have been left to sort the problem by myself , cost me a lot of money to get my vehicle home on my own expense , today after 6 months I am having my vehicle broken down once again , just 30 miles from home , I called them and they said they won’t be able to sort the recovery as I have to send proof of repair from last break down which I don’t have as my vehicle was repaired previously by a friend who didn’t have me an invoice . So once again I am being left to sort my problem on my own on a very busy motorway . Don’t waste your money on such a joke of a pretending to be insurance company

What a BIG mistake I made choosing this company. My car developed a flat tyre and was undriveable. I am a 74 year old lady stuck in a remote rural area. 2gether took nearly 30 minutes to answer the phone. They refused to attend as the flat tyre was possibly caused by a pothole. I felt completely abandoned. I eventually managed to get a breakdown company to rescue me - at some cost. I wanted to cancel my policy but could not get my money back. So, premium lost, as I now know that this company cannot be relied on in an emergency and I will need to buy a proper policy from a reputable company.

Don't believe the price, its cheap for a reason, they will find any loophole possible to get out of recovering your car without first lumber you with a £120 charge. My car wouldnt start so I called asking them to recover it, as it was a sunday and no local garages open they advised they couldn't come out unless they could take it to a garage so I had to leave the car. Called again 2 days later having arrange a gagrage to take it to, I mentioned I was hoping it was just a flat battery perhaps due to lights being left on (but not sure for certain) and they said they could no longer come out to recover the car unless I paid £120 up front as it could be my own fault. This service is cheap for a reason, they want to wait until people are in a desperate situation to hike the fees up. Awful service and awful advisors avoid like the plague, pay a bit more for recovery where they will come out regardless of why the car won't start.

I don't know if this company exists because once you sign on with them and gave money you don't here a word from them unless you miss a payment then they add more money then you get a letter from a debt agency called moor Croft. Stay clear of them they have no customer focus.

Scammers Scammers scammer: Be aware . Extremely bad experience with them . They can easily tell you the reason of refusal to pay £130. Like there should be two trucks space in front of your car . If that’s not the excuse they get then they can tell you 100 reasons like car battery maintenance was not done on time that’s why car is broken down and you have to pay £130. In anyway round they will be charging £130 . I have got a lot of proofs that they are scammers . Keep yourselves away from them

Would give 0 if I could! Guy calls 4 hours after being reported to say he only just got the job sent through. Thankfully now home and warm! I'll let my email explain the rest... ***Good evening, I write this email from the roadside as I am still awaiting a tow vehicle having called in at 12:52 today. I was called at 13:26 and advised a vehicle would be with me by 14:20. At 14:50 I called as no one had attended. I was told a further 45 minutes. At 15:52 I called and was told 10 minutes. At 16:00 I was told 25 minutes. At 16:35 I was told 10-15 minutes. At 16:52 I was told 10 minutes. I was told on this call that she had explicitly spoken to the operative herself and that he would be 10 minutes. I am a woman, on my own by the side of a single carriage way in the dark. I honestly cannot comprehend how it has taken this long when your phone lines state 90 minutes. I have had numerous members of the public who have driven by over 3 hours ago and offered food, water and assistance as they can see I have been waiting for hours. It's beyond embarrassing. I would appreciate a call from the manager to discuss as this is completely and utterly unacceptable.*** Operative called at 17:12 stating he'd be 20 minutes and that he had only just received the job. Don't disbelieve it as he's the only person to have actually called me!

AVOID AVOID AVOID at all cost. Scam company. If I could give minus ten stars I would. I broke down in November 2023 & called 2Gether to assist. I told them I was a sixty something female who was alone & my car was in a time sensitive car park, also that my phone was low on power. After seemingly accuse me of causing the breakdown myself (I hadn't) they informed me as it was after 5pm all they could do was text me three garage numbers & I should call them myself to arrange recovery then let 2Gether know who would be attending. I said that was unacceptable but they refused any other help. The first garage didn't understand why their number had been given, the second garage was fifteen miles away, the third was thirty miles away. Fortunately an exceptionally kind member of public who thought it was a battery issue, went home for his jump leads & got me going. There was no follow up call to check if I'd managed to arrange recovery or for my welfare (if I'd had to leave my car, I faced a three mile walk home through a wooded area in the dark). Appalling service, appalling attitude, disgraceful company. A complaint had been lodged but two weeks on, not even acknowledged. Engage at your peril.

Just rang , ignition turns on all lights on dashboard but stating motor just rapid clicks , starting motor jam , said they wouldn’t come out because it was caused by me using a cigarette lighter socket to check tyre pressures. This information was given freely by myself as thought it might help . Will cancel breakdown and car insurance straightaway. Obviously scammers , very disappointed that GoCompare pointed me in their direction.

AVOID * BEWARE * AVOID * BEWARE They go out of their way to avoid helping you I broke down at 02.30 am with a flat battery - they would not help unless I paid double the annual premium as I said I may have left a parking light on ( which I actually had not ) when I informed them they still would not help. I was fuming and still am - go to a proper breakdown insurer
