“Have used for years but delivery today cost £96.40 on top of original purchase price. With great regret this will be my last order. Shocked that charge is being added without any evidence or paperwork or communication from customs and excise. Looks like DHL acting as tax collector with added fee for the privilege
and no choice given to customer. Feels a bit like the private parking charges and one wonders if this might be open to abuse. Think that when paying taxes we are entitled to a breakdown and. Not just a straight fee due to Dhl”
“I ordered from Portugal Vineyards twice. Both orders arrived late - one was three weeks late, one was one week late. One order contained three wrong vintages - I ordered expensive wines where vintage is very important (they offered to pick up the wrong wines, but didn't offer to return shipping costs). One wine that I ordered was unavailable - I selected a slightly cheaper wine in that place. I had to write 3 messages for them to return the money difference - it took a month. All of this and not one apology - just dry formal messages. Overall poor and amateurish service. I do not recommend doing business here.”

“The wines I love, so different from the usual merlot, shiraz, grenache, etc, all that we have had from Portugalvineyards has been special, and at a good price.
However there is no such thing as a free lunch, and so it is with this company. The couriers they use are so expensive, and after lengthy negotiations (when you finally get through) with the company they are not going to change them. My own example was to order £700+ of wine, as my first order of 4 cases was splendid and only cost £35 for delivery, the second order delivery charge came to £320 which obviously greatly impacted on the overall cost per bottle and really did not make it viable, however the person who was sharing the order wanted it so we went for it in the end, but had to wait 6 weeks for the wines to finally arrive. Great wines, but if the cost of shipping is so high and the customer service is very bad, then they are not going to get them to other parts of the world, Shame.”
“Terrible service. The wines are supposed to be delivered at the latest within ten working days. We placed an order ten days ago and it has not even left the warehouse. This is not the first time it has happened either. Each time the excuses are different. When the wines finally turn up, they are fine, but I'll not be ordering from them again.”
