“To be honest, using solarquotes was an amazing experience.
I had limited knowledge of solar and battery technology, i was able to get some really good background info from the web site before i started, then once I requested the three quotes, i was sent links to more helpfull information, including a link to a checklist to get me started on assessing my quotes.
I was contacted by two of the three companies within hours, the third sent me a message late in the day saying they would contact me early the next day, which they did.
All made appointments to come and look at my house and the site, two with in days, the last one early the next week.
All gave good clear recommendations on the day, and all of their quotes were received within hours of the site visit.
For someone who deals with tradies often, I generally have to chase them to get them to site and then chase them again to supply the quote.
This level of customer service from all three companies could only be described as far superior to the usual effort from most trades and was greatly appreciated.
I would say use the checklist, even if you dont use it all, the checklist allowed to me to determine one company was wanting 50% of the total purchase price before they would start work on site. I may have missed that without the checklist, I certainly would never make that sort of payment before work started. The risk to me if they went broke being way to high. The other compnaies were looking for deposits of 10% and 20% before comencing work on site, a fair amount in my opinion. The compnay asking for the large up front payment didnt warrant further consideration in my evaluation process.”

“The 3 companies provided all contacted me within one week of the request, which was great. I found all to be very helpful and knowledgable. My only frustration is that there is no consistency in how quotes are documented. Some provide a limited breakdown of costs (Solar/EV charger/Battery), but most do not. Having a lump sum quote makes it very hard to 'compare apples to apples'. Each company has their favourite suppliers, who I assume provide them with the best wholesale prices for items, and this means that their recommendations are possible motivated by profit to some extent rather than what's absolutely best for the customer. To be clear, all companies who quoted were very clear and upfront about why they believed their recommendation were appropriate for my house. They all gave me plenty of their time and answered all my questions. I would (and do) recommend SolarQuotes to friends and family. It would be great if you could influence the companies to provide a standard itemised format for their quotes.”

“I have no faith in Solar Quotes. The supposed trusted Quotes I received were questionable. One of the installers is not even registered for GST which means a turn over of less than $75000. Turnover not profit. How am I supposed to believe he will still be around if something goes wrong with my system. His phone number came up on my phone as some renovation company. When you look into solar it's a bit of a mine field. There are different component regulators, with specifications we the consumer have no hope of understanding, installer creditations etc etc. Everyone has their finger inthe pie and noone explains anything clearly. What us the warranty does it cover installation if the panels fail? Best igeneral nfo I found was on choice but then I used Solar Quotes on their advice.”
