Hi Lex,
Thank you for your time over the phone and letting me know about the issues you faced with the installers you were matched with regarding the Queensland rental rebate scheme as well as the delay in the quotes. Apologies about this. I will be following up with those remaining 2 companies to understand how the ball was dropped here and make sure the customer service improves in the future.
In regards to the Queensland rental rebate scheme, as discussed I'm happy to refer you to some installers directly who I know have worked on this. You said you were holding off on this but if you do want this in the future just reach out to me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll be able to help.
You also raised a good point that our current system may not handle multiple property requests efficiently, I'll speak to our team about this in our next quarterly meeting to see if we can come up with a way to handle these types of requests in the future.
Thanks again for letting us know about as it only helps us improve,
Ned.
“Thank you helping me out to find the contractors, however i have found separate contractor who was really affordable and basically giving me same products. Also the finance option was also found separate with 0% interest rate. All three contractors you gave me wasn’t even close to the ine i found. 13k for 13.2k/w of Solars and 42k/w of batteries. Therefore i wouldn’t recommend solarqoute to my friends and family if they are looking forward to find contractor.”
Hi Aabhi, thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
I am glad to hear you were able to find a system and finance option that worked well for you. Pricing in solar can vary a lot depending on installer margins, system design, battery brand, after-sales support, warranties, and whether corners are cut in areas that are not always obvious at the quote stage.
The installers we recommend are independently reviewed, fully accredited, and priced to deliver compliant installs with solid long-term support. They may not always be the cheapest option, but the goal is to balance price with quality, reliability, and service over the life of the system. If price is your only criteria, you may get unlucky with the installation or customer service.
We have written a little guide here on what to expect with cheap prices: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/panels/cost/ I hope it helps in case you are curious
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best and luck with your solar system,
Ned.
“All I have got so far is about 5 solar installers emailing/texting every other day wanting me to sign up with little or no information and using "deadline" sales tactics.”
Hi Clyde,
Thank you for taking my call to give me extra details about this and sincere apologies for the experience here. I can see why you would feel frustrated if you are getting lots of messages/calls without much useful information. We don't want anyone to be spammed.
I have looked into this and thanks to this feedback found an issue with one of our suppliers who are now indefinitely paused in our network of installers. In this case, unbeknownst to us, the companies main contact who was assessing the customers we send them had left the business last month. This caused the customer service to slip. Nevertheless they are no longer being recommended by SolarQuotes.
Thanks you for letting us know and giving us the chance to fix it. If you need any help with solar in the future or have any more feedback please e-mail me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll be there to help : )
Thanks,
Ned.
Hi Konrad,
Thank you for getting back to me via e-mail, it was good to hear the feedback. Apologies for any fizzling experience here. I can understand how getting quoted was a little complicated from the two installers we matched you with and I will be following up with them to let them know how to better suit our users. As said in my e-mail I'll be happy to refer another company or answer any questions you may have related to solar, just let me know : )
Thanks again for letting us know,
Ned.
“Solar Quotes was used to obtain quotes for a Heat Pump Hot Water System.
It was disappointing that despite being in the heart of Brisbane only one company was provided to obtain a quote from and they were from the Sunshine Coast. Perhaps Heat Pump HWS are not a strong suit of Solar Quotes. 3 other quotes were obtained by reading and searches on Facebook in the 'Efficient Electric Home' Group. The one selected was one of these from Facebook and the Solar Quotes company ended up being one of two whose quote was well above the others.”
Hi Damien,
Thanks for sharing your feedback, always appreciate it.
You’re right in the sense that heat pump quotes are still a relatively new area for us. We’re actively expanding our network and recruiting more qualified heat pump installers across Brisbane and other regions every week to make sure customers get more local options and competitive quotes in the future.
We’re sorry this experience wasn’t ideal and hope we can assist you better next time as the coverage improves.
If you do have any questions about the install as it happens just reach out to me ned@solarqoutes.com.au and I'll help where I can.
Thanks again for letting us know,
Ned
“Only 1 out of 3 companies contacted me. That company was brilliant but have not heard anything from other two.
Has this business changed hands? as when I first used this service a few years ago, it was brilliant.”
Hi Deb,
Thanks for your feedback and for chatting with me on the phone earlier. I'm really glad to hear you're going ahead with your installation. Apologies about the delay in your quotes here - I’ll follow up with the other installers you were matched with to make sure they improve their communication.
Thanks again for letting us know,
Ned.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for letting us know about this and apologies for the frustration caused here. I've just left you a voice message so I can find out who gave you a quote. That will allow me to follow up with the other 2 matched installers you had to ensure you get your quotes - I'll also be ensuring they improve their customer service. If you want to alternatively reach out to me via email my email is ned@solarquotes.com.au
Thank again for letting us know -
Ned.
“I received the three quotes alright, two weren’t much good the third was competitive and helpful so we went with them.
Unfortunately through no fault of theirs they were unable to get the panels.that’s when meaningful communication stopped ,calls to the office unreturned and a salesman who only communicated through text.very disappointing”
Hi Douglas, thanks for your feedback. We are glad you found a competitive quote but apologies the followups let you down. Supply issues can always happen, but as you mentioned calls should have been returned and communication handled better. I will give you a call to follow up so I can find which installer did what we we’ll pass this on so we can all improve.
Thanks again for letting us know
Ned.
Hi James,
Thanks for letting us know and apologies about this - unfortunately not every installer of ours supplies the same products but we are working towards making it easier if you are after a specific product. I'll let the team know about this and the installers you were matched with. I'll also follow up with that one company who didn't get in touch to ensure their customer service improves in the future. Thanks for letting me know.
Any other feedback or questions about quotes just email me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll help where I can.
Thanks,
Ned.
“Whilst solarquotes were quick to respond with the suggested 3 installers, none of them bothered to contact me to organise a quote. Obviously not interested in more business.
Anyway have gone with another reputable supplier.”
Hi Kelvin,
Thanks for the chat over the phone and I'm glad you got a quote sorted. Sincere apologies about the lack of reply from those 3 installers. That is not normally the case and I'll be following up with all 3 to ensure their customer service improves. Thanks again for letting us know as it just helps us improve.
If you have any questions about your current quote feel free to get in touch with me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll help where I can : ),
Ned.
“Perhaps I'm not that easy to contact, as I have my phone off a lot, but I was willing to converse with the Tamworth Phased Electrical and Solar by SMS, and sent him our request and details using his SMS after he tried to phone me. I get a bit flustered on phone calls, and prefer to type details to know that they can be reread and are understood. Oral conversations may be misunderstood. Sorry. Was phoned by both an Armidale and a Sydney company, and I thank that Sydney person for their emailed recommendations. But I do prefer a Tamworth based business, obviously. So, maybe they aren't interested because we already have panels and a Fronius Inverter. I don't understand. I think we shall look around next month, thanks.”
Hi Sandra,
Thanks for letting us know - as you were looking for an off grid system, it is hard for us to recommend one for you in Tamworth specifically, the only client we have there is Phased Electrical. I'll text you through a third party tool from the netcc that may assist you finding an installer. Apologies we could not be of more help in this case. If you have any questions or more feedback feel free to email me at ned@solarquotes.com.au,
Ned.
Hi Peter,
Sorry to hear about this. I've left you a voice message and e-mail to follow up, I'd love some extra info on what dissapointed you. I've checked in with the 2 installers you were matched with who let me know you were no longer looking for quotes when they contacted you. I am keen to help out - I saw you already had a system and were looking for a fix/upgrade. I can help find an installer for you - feel free to reach back out to me if you need this, happy to help. If you need it again my e-mail is ned@solarquotes.com.au
Thanks for letting us know, it will only help us improve,
Ned
“Only two could supply quotes. One took a week and the other didn't bother. Good concept and reasonable follow up from Solar quotes once it was brought to their attention.”
Hi Gary,
Thanks for your feedback, and for giving us the opportunity to follow up when things weren’t going smoothly.
It’s disappointing to hear that one installer took a week and the other didn’t respond at all. That’s not the level of service we expect from our installers, and we’ve followed it up with them.
We’re glad the follow-up helped, and really appreciate you recognising the concept behind what we’re trying to do.
Thanks,
Ned
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your feedback and I'm really sorry to hear about the delay. That’s definitely not the experience we aim to deliver. I’ve already spoken with the two installers who contacted you to make sure they’re reaching out to customers more quickly moving forward. If you have any questions about your install when it does start - please let me know and I'll help where I can. Just shoot me an email at ned@solarquotes.com.au
Thanks again for letting us know.
Ned.
“All companies responded.
One decidedly lukewarm about our job
Quotes confusing and so far have not provided what we require,
despite us providing a fair amount of detail on your site.”
Hi David,
Apologies our installers missed the mark here. I can see you did provide detail in your quote request - I've left you a voicemail to get more detail on what transpired here. I would love to follow up and get you to a place where you are satisfied with a quote. Feel free to call back or just write to me at ned@solarquotes.com.au and I'll work with you towards a solution. Thanks for letting us know - it only helps.
Ned.
“Not very helpful. I sent you guys 2 emails about issues with Empower Solar (recommended by you). My emails to you were ignored. I ended up going with the company who first installed my home solar for the battery addition.”
Hi Mark,
Many apologies about this. After I did some digging I did find the original 2 messages you sent to us about your issue. Normally these messages come straight to me but due to how our contact page is set up (https://www.solarquotes.com.au/contact/) our wording was not clear and I did not see it until I saw your review. I will make sure our wording on that page is changed to be more clear for future users of our site with similar issues.
I was glad to hear Empower had sorted out your deposit by the time I chatted to you over the phone and that you were going with another of our recommended installers. I have had a chat with Empower about brands sold and returning deposits promptly.
Thank you for your feedback as it only helps us improve - if you have any other feedback or questions just shoot me an email at ned@solarquotes.com.au
Hi Robert,
Sincere apologies we could only provide you one quote - you are in a bit of a rural area which limited our options - but what I will do is talk to our accounts manager to see if we can find some installers in your area that we can recommend to users your area in the future. I'll also text through a third party tool you can use to perhaps find an installer to assist.
Thank you for alerting us to this.
Ned.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for reaching out and leaving us a review + feedback. It only helps us improve. I can see from your area we only had one installer available to quote you so I will look into the area with my team to find quality installers we match with future users.
In terms of the quote received - that doubling of the price sounds concerning. If possible, could you please send the details to ned@solarquotes.com.au for me to look over? I will investigate and if need be follow up with the installer to check everything is above board.
Hi Ross,
Very sorry to hear we gave you a disappointing experience. I've just left you a voice mail and e-mail to hopefully get some detailed feedback from you as I would love to follow up on this. I can also help if you have any solar related questions, such as with quotes - and I'm happy to hear any other feedback as well. Let me know : )
Thank you for leaving a review as it will only help us improve.
Ned.
“I requested companies that would do a site visit, none of the three did one they only made a phone call and asked basic information. This caused all of them to miss a shading issue with the house that they would have seen if they had visited. At least 2 of the three were not local to Canberra and were either incredibly expensive for the products they quoted or products that aren’t generally recommended.
If you are going to use solar quotes please also independently seek out quotes from a few vendors yourself as a comparison.”
You specifically requested a home visit, but this didn’t happen. That’s not the standard of service we aim for, and I’ll be following up with the installers you were referred to about this to ensure they better address requests like yours in the future.
We’re committed to connecting people with highly rated, local installers, and the companies we referred you to—Stag Electrical, Innovate Energy, and Huglo—all have offices in the ACT and are highly regarded. That said, it’s clear there was a communication gap here, and we want to learn from it to do better.
I’m also really curious about which installer you ultimately went with and what equipment was quoted that didn’t meet your expectations. Knowing this would help us improve the service and ensure we’re working with companies that provide the best solutions for their customers.
If you’d be willing to share more about your experience, we’d really appreciate it.
Thanks again for your feedback, and I hope you’ve ended up with a solar system you’re happy with.
